Genesis Star has now publicly released technical information for the upcoming Prospector Mining Ship secured by ten colonists.

The Prospector is an unlimited mining ship with multiple hard points that allow for mounting eight high-powered mining lasers. It has two built-in combat weapons: a Prospector Plasma Turret and a Prospector Laser Turret. The high-powered mining lasers will become available to obtain through crafting in the same release of the Prospector.

Similar in size to a Privateer, the Prospector can carry up to 50 passengers. It has two repair stations and the possibility of upgrading its Structural Integrity.

Support automatically switches the Ship Deed Token to the Spacecraft Deed when the Prospector is released. You will receive an in-game notification once your ship has been docked and can be accessed at the Calypso Space Station.

The Prospector will be available in the upcoming release. Additionally, due to the Prospector's long development time, owners can already customize the name of their ship—free of charge—as a token of our appreciation for your patience. Contact support with the desired name for your vehicle, and they will update it accordingly.

We wish the Prospector Mining ship owners a successful and fruitful journey in the universe of Entropia.

So the new vu is for only for 10 lucky person and the owner of old privateer ?
I guess for this release yes it will probably be so. Which is quite ok, let them have an advantage to sort things out
around space mining, if not all at least some will spread that info for all to see.
In a future release all ships will be able to do space mining though.

As long as it’s this lootable crap it will fail hard like space has done since the beginning. They can’t seem to grasp that the majority of players hate lootable.

The Prospector will be in the same release as Space Mining, which means space mining will be available for everyone as there will be mining lasers that you can attach to your ship 😊 the Prospector is unique however because of the high amount of mining hard points you get and you cannot get that with any other ship.

But yes, space mining is for everyone to enjoy, it's not limited to a few people 💪❤️

how many hardpoints for mining will privateers and motherships get ?

We will answer this and more regarding space mining in a release blog we are publishing with the release ❤️💪
What about quads, Sleipnirs, Firebirds, those ferrari red quads.

As well as making space more fun with being able to color Privateers,Motherships, Mining Ships, Quads?

So, two combat turrets, and they will be sitting ducks (had to be careful not to typo) unless massively upgraded.
I suppose mining mats will be lootable, so how fat will the rats want their ducks to be?
Advantage of these ships: quick return to the ss via revive. Any other benefits? (and death will be swift, just as in a line from Douglas?)

Think most players need to grow a pair if they want to go for markup, no one is forcing anyone into the lootable zoones.

If you bought one of these ships for between 100 - 60k when they released you are clearly one of those who has a balls to go into pvp, they know what they were signing up for; Space mining, part of space is lootable just like the ground. Not all TG's are in lootable pvp either.

Cheers to everyone that got a ship I think they look cool, like a little space crab :)

they do have better pen/shrap armor protection so atleast explosives from sleipnirs and porcupines from 2nd seat in quads will do less dmg - im more surprised that they too will have 50 people allowance onboard - no difference for crewsize amoung capital ships it seems

Oh, and spot the error of lootable welding wire proportions - mining lasers will require mats obtained from space mining? Taking bets@boxes ... (joke)

Noted John. I did briefly wonder about the stats of the current bigger ships, but franky having a passenger gunner will be overkill - literally...

[Oh, I see the way out of the loop - daily job buckets will not require an extra laser, but come as standard from the mission NPC. However, those will only do 1-3 damage or so, and slow mining rates (from daily workers) will mean the combined initial uselessness of SI and no availability of the crafted lasers. Do these mining ships have a screwu propulsion system? Also, no stats on speed or turning speed are provided (which may or not be important for occupants).]
[Oh point two: quad laser mining gear bps will eat up all the mining drops for weeks anyway, so even less chance to make a bigger laser. And another guess: that the lvl1 laser will only free up one mining spot on the mining ships - and higher levels will be available.... later? Just putting out as many possibilities BEFORE the things come out, in the faint hope it will be read and acted on in the next... oh, on Monday?]

it's been 10+ years and people show ZERO interest in it. Time to take a hint maybe? We are forced into lootable with space else I don't touch it and by the looks of how much people there are in planet side lootable most others stay clear aswell. Space has basically been dead since the launch and people look at it as a PITA obstacle between planets. How many planet partners has lootable killed by now?

Ship looks cool, gz to the owners, hope the update is fun. I for sure gonna check out the new Howling mine and see what's up. Looks like there's gonna be new BPs, excited for that.

At the same time I absolutely hate lootable PvP in space, not sure what good it brought to the game, seems like none, only harms the playerbase and the economy in general. So hopefully there's a lot more to do with this update than playing in lootable space.

It will bring a new way to get between space stations - using transportation tokens.
So it WILL be a way of avoiding lootable space - if the areas near planets stay unlootable, as at present...

True, but at the same time they said there's gonna be restrictions. Imagine if the restriction is that you're unable to bring any lootables :ROFLMAO:

Sorry ... I just had to :( The urge was bigger than me. When you see it, you can't unsee it ...

(I do think it looks kind of cute ... )

Ahh that's good. I was a bit suss it was only going to be for the high rollers with fancie ships.
So this means I will be able to get a mining laser for my (L) Quadwing?

What is the top speed of this new ship? I couldn't see that in the metrics posted.

Hate lootable space too. We almost lost another brand new player who I put time into mentoring (he just graduated gratz to him) but minutes after graduation he went to space and got shot down and got stuck on a Space station (teleported 20 minutes backwards so lost all his flight progress too) needless to say we narrowly avoided losing yet another new player to the game, who up until that moment was having heaps of fun and really loving the game.

they could dress a pig in silk and earrings and you folks woud say it's just a pig in silk and earrings....

I'm sorry, what? Either the Prospector’s scale is totally misrepresented due to a bad photo angle, or someone seriously messed up the spatial awareness of how size and passenger capacity should align. There’s no way it should hold the same number of people as the blatantly evident much larger Privateer

this - but motherships are even larger and still only have 50 passengers simltaneously even though they have double the number of repairpoints to maintain and much more turrets to man as well as a hangar to launch from - but i think mindark just went the easy balancing route to have same amount of potential repaircrew for all capital ships - even though thats not balancing at all
