let's start with the BP, it is sold in every SS, but in limited quantity, consensus price is 200 ped on ah for a fresh one.

use: [Recycling Scrip] is used in recycling station and its TT Value is 0.01 PED
on ah we got MU = 150% so it is 1.5 pec per each pec

Let's go to the formula:
5 nanocubes
10 nova
10 blazar

nano cost is 0.01 each
10 Nova cost 2 ped per k so it is 200 pec /1000 * 10 = 2 pec input
10 Blazar cost 4.5 ped per k to is it 450 pec /1000 *10 = 4.5 pec per input
total input cost (i consider nanocube at tt but can use 101% so it is 0.0505 ped
total click cost is 0.02+0.045 +0.0505 = 0.1155 ped perclick INPUT COST

success craft is 0.05 ped
150 MU is 0.05 * 1.5 = 0.075

that is for 100% success.. let's correct it for 98% (2017 report from MA) = 0.075 * 0.98 = 0.0735 real sale price adjusted for activity tax

so... a crafter that sells SCRIP at 150% has a mathematical loss of 0.1155 - 0.0735 = 0.042 ped per click or 0.0084 ped per scrip.

real breakeven craft even with salvage (i should click to see salvage, i assume 20% as usual, it is anyway a loss under 0.0925 / 0.05 = 185%

on the other hand... if you are a space miner, buy them all before someone reads this and undestands that he is selling at a loss :)

Those must've been crafted before the change, at first the BP required more nanocubes, don't remember how much exactly, but a lot more. Should've crafted more of these before the change.

I also lost like 10 of those BPs that I looted at HM at first, they stacked when I put them in storage, but when the devs fixed the stacking issue I ended up with 1 BP with around 10 QR instead of 10 separate BPs with 0 QR. Sigh, would've been nice to have those now.

Micro materials, like nova and blazar, have max rate salvage. Its usually not 20%

Yeah there it is, would've been a viable craft at current prices.

The price is formed not so much by the cost of production as in demand. And demand, respectively, is formed by use.
Scrips have the only use in an insignificant amount. There is simply nowhere to use it in such quantities, except for sale to each other. :)

The large of cratfted goods at the auction is much lower than the cost - this is the norm for this game. And most of them fly away to the TT, not reaching the auction. We all know that craft in this game in 99% is used for no purpose.

P. S. By the way, my excel shows the crafting cost of 390% with a zero QR scenario, or 320% with QR100 BP.

Just to add that the near successes reliably give 10+10 frags. I think my frag returns were over 50%.
The main point has been made, that to begin with the bp was 100 nanos, so 20x what it is now. That made the frags hardly relevant, wheras now they are hugely relevant.
Scrips were on auction mostly at a volume of 1k, which was dead easy to make originally in a very short space of time at low cost. There was even 'free' availability of nanocubes because the tt mining lasers could be recycled too on day one. Adding the fact that the one laser could only be swapped out at the station and didn't last long either before one of the patches, I replaced a half used one with a full one while at HM and recycled it without thinking, then swore MASSIVELY at MA for being so incredibly stupid once again that this was possible! I had brought along some non-lootable stuff anyway to get cubes from, and I transferred some from Caly to reduce the chances of buying from someone 'milking' the clusterfuck!
I thus also had several thousand scrips - and sold a few batches - without even trying. Anyone who maybe had a bit more 'knowledge' of the coming changes could have made absolutely loads, and is still making a nice profit at current rates.
At some point that supply will drop and I expect the OP's calcs to be closer to the new required mus for sales, except for underestimating the volume of returned frags from near successes, as mentioned.

Ever feel like that wasn't accident and someone benefited from it? 🤔

Nah you are right, it is just utter incompetense from MA. 😑

Overall there are many people who hate PEDs. They try to undercut as much as possible even to a point like you mentioned that they cannot comprehend that they lose. Quite often there are items posted on auction where if you subtract auction fee from sales price it would lead you to a conclusion that selling to tt is more profitable. Gotta live with it.

(Replied to wrong thread, must be half asleep still 😅)
