Hello mate

Rocktropia as a whole i have found to be ok, think duke nukem crossed with GTA and that was the kinda vibe i got from the place in general. As for the thing it was fun, but seems linear - kinda checkpoint style but fun none the less and very well done.

For anyone that hasn't tried RT i would give it a shot, put aside all the murky happenings of late and just go with an open mind.

I admit i kinda liked it, not home but fun for a holiday for me at least.

Giive it a go people, you might be surprised.

I am on a mission *lights out* where I need to Restore Power to Facility, but then I am told I need a LV1 Security card. In the same quest I have to Locate Security Card ... I really can't find it. Is it not working? Or does anyone have a clue?

Got the NEAT (and warm) clothes though :)

To access the THING you can go to the box office at the MegaPlex across the street (or any teleporter because that's all the box office is really) and select the "???" or "Arctic" (not sure how it's labeled) from the drop-down selector. Choose Camp McReady and enjoy (after you relog probably cause I crashed at the THING's loading screen the first few times I went there).

The THING is probably one of the coolest things in Entropia so far, like others said. It's really pretty impressive. There are a few tiny issues, but NDS has really shown what is possible with the platform. Maybe it's because the smaller scale makes it more manageable, maybe they got better support from MA because of the big name attached to it, idk, but I hope we will see more content of this quality in the future.

Like Young, Mature etc?

I didn't realise there was a rule on categorizing levels that every different planet had to stick to. Sorry for being so closed-minded.

There is hill SE of the building just outside the down.
You will find truck there and card in it.

Code for the facility is :
23342 ( if I remember correctly ).

I really liked it :) the screen icing over, the cars sliding around on the ice was great!

Loved the refueling pvp place with the free oil n Ooo booms! They were fun!

Didn't like getting stripped naked in the snow, mask, implant and all! But the jackets are cozy and warm :)
The flame throwers are soooo cool!

Satellite mission was bugged for me though, even after abandoning it etc n trying again. I restored the power etc to them, but it wouldst let me tune them after :(

I fell through the hole n shot some things, are u supposed to have a mission for shooting them?

I left without the helicopter :( as couldn't work out how to get it. Anyone know?

When you complete the satellite mission you have to follow some waypoints in a mission and then find a supply shed. After finishing that when you drop through the hole you get the THING mission, where you have to kill one and escape the cave. Then when you get to the extraction point you get the helicopter on completion.

You are forced to do the mission chain, else the THING mission won't trigger when falling through the hole.

Well no it doesn't have to be young, mature etc, but some indication of maturity would be nice, though the L numbers make that less important now.

More problematic is the inconsistent and incorrect use of (L), (M), etc (I see we even have (Male) instead of (M) now for some items) which is confusing and often misleading, especially when (L) items don't have an (L) at all and therefore appear at first glance to be unlimited.

The cars sliding around the ice is cool at the beginning but can sometimes be annoying when you end up sliding around doing a donut and then end up at the bottom of the mountain you were on. LOL!

Absolutely love the boom cans!!! I think I used more ammo on those then on the mobs :laugh:

Yeah, I dislike being stripped of my mask :cussing: And do when have to pay to have the chip reinserted like on Greece?

I have a question though, when the heli and 4 x 4 break how are we going to get around seeing as you can't use other vehicles?

Are there going to be bps for them? Same with the clothing?

No they do not, I met a L12 wolf that died from two shots and a L5 wolf that died from like 5-6 shots and both appeared to have same aggro and did same amount of damage :laugh:
 
By the way people, the 4x4s do not slide on the ice because of the ice itself. If you drive one on Calypso, you notice that the handling is just absolutely terrible and they're sliding all over the shop.

Cheap way to do it, but these physics will have to come, to cater for different surfaces and tyres.

Yes I noticed that too.. Im soo glad I Played a lot of grand theft auto and am used to cars that handle really badly.
 
This is just one example of the potential of EU (and CE ofc): want to advertize a movie? Ok, lets create planet or continent with the theme, actually playable, and good looking. I don't remember that has been done before.

Also, I like very much the clever way to implement vehicles and free weapons to make the mission line work, still letting all be within RCE.
 
Finished up The Thing! Wonder what to do next :) But definitely looking forward for more mission!
 
Another question. Once the Movie comes out and the thrill rubs off, will this destination seek to exists for room to make something new?
 
Well, the thrill of the story hasn't rubbed off entirely since 1982. Unless the movie is a total messup or flop, I doubt interest will disappear. This is the beginning of "minigames" within EU. Eventually it will just be a matter of choice between many of these areas, but I'm guessing they'll stand as long as the planet stands.
 
If you see neverdie ingame, chances are you'd get an answer to that.

I asked if there will be more destinations like that and i got a response instantly, and yes there are going to be.

Im assuming that these wont exsist perminantly, and just be added and exsist as long as they do similar to how a cinima shows films. Would make the most sence i guess, a compliment to rocktropia itself, its clearly designed in a way it wont be here forever in my eyes.

on Arctic I didn't find any skill attribute reward missions. It's more like a themed storyline kinda good to see missions that don't say kill x amount of mobs ;)

Of those that I have done, the answer is no. But then I am not sure if I have done all the ones in Harlem, I do believe I did all the ones in the Arctic (23).

For those who want to hunt hihger level "things", I`ve looted a BAMF ZK8 and placed it on RT auc :wtg:

For now I think its highest dmg available, 33.5-67
 
Ok, first gripe. If you can only use RT items in Arctic please have them readily available. My Medkit died and since you can only use RT items where am I going to get a fap from? None in auction at the arctic or on RT. And the one being sold in the supplies terminal is a Vivo T1 which you can't use in the Arctic :duh:
