UK meet up 2009

Oh, and the pillar things that hold up hotels are well known to move about randomly.

Most disconcerting when you try and lean on one the other side side of midnight, while your wife is chatting to huge policemen :wise:

 He wasn't that tall.... well I suppose it might look that way as you are falling over backwards

I looked for a clip too but didnt find Pig, just Heartly! I will keep looking, especially as the two younger ones were immediately interested in Pipkins when they saw it lol.

I remember you commenting on my accent Silva, but Pipkins is a bit of a hazy memory for me. I think I sound more like Stan Collymore myself.

Actually, if you don't know what Stan Collymore sounds like he's in this clip. I couldn't find Pig either.

Pipkins was a kids program with puppets and a real dude and the tick tock tick tock 'Time' bing bong, ding dong, clang clang clang, drrrrrrrrrrr....(lots of clocks going off at once)... 'For a Story'...... I always loved that bit!!!

Monkee is far too young to remember Pipkins (by around 15 years)

Used to be an avid fan as a kid :)

I dearly loved pipkins...... then when i saw it again i was horrified how threadbare poor Hartley Hare is:eek:

Wonder if anybody that goes to these meets ever sounds like Basil Brush?:D

Stinky:yay:

Very Sorry I had to miss this one :(

Looks like you all had a great time, I will make an effort to attend the next one, had RL stuff on at the moment

Nice one !

I couldn't help thinking how moth-eaten he was watching that youtube clip.

he was always moth eaten and scruffy..... u just didnt realise it as you were too carried away with the action and at that age you didn't care what things looked like anyway, unlike the way you do now :)

I've been learning LOTS about Scotland! Went and saw Edinburgh Castle today and was suitably impressed. I asked the ticket girl if I could take it home with me.... Just got a strange look tho... The Scotch is still safe but I have been putting a serious dent in the Beer supply over here. I've also found plenty of Haggis (too scared to try it, maybe tomorrow after MANY Beers!) but curiously I have not been able to find Scotch Eggs ANYWHERE!!! I love these and would prolly fill my suitcase with them if I could only find a pub that makes them. So if any of you Scots out there know a place in Edinburgh where I can get this treat, please post up before I leave Thurs!!!

And finally, just for Silva, cos I promised and because she said she hadnt seen it......

Damn Robbin Williams is good at da shit!

Oh and Scotch eggs u can get at any supermarket in the cold counter.

Ok, yesterday while out looking for a restaraunt on the royal mile here in Edinburgh, I noticed a woman sitting outside a cafe who appeared to have an unusual amount of peircings in her face and a huge blonde wig on her head... I nudged my wife and she looked as well (not wanting to stare) but she said it was just a mask. We argued about it for a bit with her swearing that it was a mask and me saying it wasn't because I could see the rings move when she talked. Then today while I was checking out Foxnews, I noticed a picture of the woman I saw!!!!! It turns out her name is Elaine Davidson and she holds the world record for the most peirced female

Heres piccies for any who might be interested....

I wonder if I could talk her into joining TDO......

Ewwwwe! I shouldn't have looked at that. Excessively pierced women aren't my thing.

I had to explain to a soc mate tonight that I don't talk like a pig! I have an accent that is particular to a region of central England. The pig character happened to have a very similar accent.

Can i mention, for the record, that the particular portion of central England is famous for, other than accents from the Pipkins show...

Cadbury's chocolate

Good honest blokes that will buy you a pint

Haah I knew thew was a Welsh connection...

At the age of 10, his mother married George Willis, who had two older children from a previous marriage, Patricia and Tony, with whom he didn't get along. The family moved to a farm in Benllech, Anglesey, North Wales and it was during this time that he started to show an interest in rock and roll music, girls and horses. He attended Ysgol Syr Thomas Jones school in Amlwch, where he was nick-named Lemmy
