Question: Unmaxed crap gun vs Armatrix L vs maxed low-level gun

I sold all my gear a few years ago and took a break but I'm playing again more frequently and I'm trying to figure out where to go with this. I'm losing too much continually rebuying L guns, especially Armatrix with their insane MU. I don't think the mild efficiency increase justifies the cost.

I don't intend to sink thousands of euros into a high end eco weapon. How bad will using an old-school unmaxed gun hurt? My HA/CA is around 8.2-8.4 on pistols or around 7.2-7.4 on rifles.

BLP pistol is my main prof (70/67), and I see a Gravis GBP-34 on AH, but the eff is only 48.8%, so I'm worried it would be a double-hit mixing low-eff with unmaxed, but I have a Beast, 2x Bullseye 8, and a Longreach 4 I can boost it with.

Is this just dumb? Would I be better off just getting a low-level gun I'm maxed on and accept hunting small mobs?

I'm not expecting stellar returns, just trying to extend my play without having to continually rebuy guns at MU. My returns have been crap even with Armatrix, so I just don't see the point of them. Also my understanding is lower eff and not being maxed should only effect my TT return, not loot composition, correct?

There are not many guns out there being worse than Gravis GBP-34.
For unlimited BLP handguns below L100 on the same level like GBP-34 go and get a Maddox 4, Adjusted instead.

It's got the same DPS and lasts as long as the GBP-34, before repairs are needed.
But with much better DPP and EFF and price is okay, too.
And it is a SIB gun you have maxed out. So no extra losses on this side, too.

Get an HK110 with a ZX Sinkadus amp and you are GG for all puny and even up to 50-100hp mobs. (Stay away from mobs that regen)

Same 7-10% TT loss without high effi and looters.

Just slower rate of loss.

Since there is no MU around it is loss and loss game atm, unless you are +80lvl looter with high effi gear.

Altho even those people struggle too atm.

Either invest and compete, stick to low lvl mobs or walk away, safes time and money not to mention sanity.

GBP-34 iws for sure a bad choice. NOT for eff, that will lead to higher ped card consumption and random large global, if o shot enough yuou will get to 98% return all in all.
BUT even with 1 2 3 skill mod enhangers (if it is tiered) uyou will loose on "MISS" shots a big amount.

GBP is a 200 ped item
consider to get an electric nanochip 7 instead, that MF jewel is a cheap alternative to the pistol and your outflow of 70 BLP will probably enable you to use that
SIB item, no MISS risk, better stats, better ammoto decay ratio, comparable power.

if you plan to kill puny, invest 200 ped in an A201 and stick it on top of a Barbarella (5 usd per a silver pack) or on a TT PIstol or a CHON.

this is not a "cheap" game but these items were costing 50% more six months ago so its a nice moment for buyers

Here's my advice:

Ask yourself the question: When is a run profitable?
a) Is it because you have the most eco setup you can and you looted enough markup to sell to get above 100% return?
b) You mini/globalled/hoffed enough to get above 100% return

If your answer is a, then you should continue to search for the most eco/high eff setup you can find

If your answer s b, you should give up the search for the most eco setup and go find a way to get minis/globals/hofs/

So you either are going for the cost side of things, or the reward side of things.

There are many in my society with high efficiency loot 2.x weapons. In a perfect world they will almost constantly go with above 100% markup, yet they still complain about the lack of loot/markup. It might be because if everybody is eco, nobody is eco. But what do I know, I'm just a noob.

As a rule of thumb unless you dont care about pissing peds away i personaly dont touch unmaxed guns until im atleast 9.5/10 on hit/crit ability.

Avoid overpaying with armatrix series check older higher tt options even if they are 55-60% eff instead of usual armatrix 65% as the markup u save will be greater than the tiny bonus in eff. For example a gun with 0 % eff and a gun with 100% eff there is only a 7% increase in TT return between both so when your measuring 4-6 efficency its a piss in a pond.

If i was you id see what dps i need to play the way i want then find a decent 1.0 gun that still has 55-60% eff and buy it.

Some options could be

Zero three
Enigma l2 or enigma l4
Adj maddox

Prices fit around 1.5k on the zero three
Around 2-3k for decent tiered enigma l2
And 5-7k for a enigma L4 if u want the highest dps option.
3-4.5k for a adj maddox.

Dont use sights and lasers as they tank your dpp. Hope this helps and its just my opinion take it however you like.
