News: Upcoming Update: Crafting UI, Blueprint Clean-up and more!

Cute but is that how crafting with blueprints is meant to work? I always wondered how the blueprints actually functioned. Or is that just ai hallucination?

Also hope this is hinting at more space content and space blueprints like what Trader Joe had to offer.

I have stuff like Robot Radiator, Hydraulic Manifold, Electro Matrix, and other resources I like and keep for display reasons. I would not want to part with these, obviously. :dunno:

Nice vid, I agree. However, what is shown is so far off from in-game visuals and possibilities that it is misleading watchers not familiar with the game.

Better display them quick, they might just do storage and not estate placed items

Can you have an option to auto convert product to nanocubes instead of PED on the craft interface? That would be sweet.

The video looks great!

we will be following immediately from this with a clean-up of lootable resources too, removing any resources that do not currently have a purpose in the game today. This will help to consolidate, and ensure that whatever you loot, fundamentally, will always be used in something.

I think this means that items with no use will no longer drop, not that items with no use will be removed from your inventory.

If so, I think it would be helpful to put a tag in the description of the items that have no use.

Thanks for informing us Socrates. I'm guessing since it says that some stuff is still in development it menas that we're not going to see this next week.

The removal will be after the ui change which will be after voting works which will be after Hell freezes over (supposedly end of the month)

Please give an update as to when ROCKTROPIA will get codex , is this not a system already in place ?
funny but those puny argonauts on Howling Mine actually work the caly codex for argonauts = or not funny - maybe its a bug not a feature or a feature not a bug lol - like they planned it or they just log out when they want a safe warp!

Nice.. the only problem I see is that there is still the same armatrix line being shown in the pictures. Hope it's just because you want people to discover the new gun line that uses a lot of rare mats but has great EFF/dpp (better than top ULs even 80-95%) and short lifespan like current armatrix or this will be a useless update for the longterm. The second a solid gun line is introduced people will be burning oils like no tomorrow on gizmo crafting looking for blueprints. Plan for the longterm.

The issue is that the irons are epic missions on RT and have story and have both many non exp rewards so both would stack and create issues.

Codex simply is not compatible with how RT is set up for missions and requires some thought.
And we all know how ma does with that.

AR matrix is a good example because it uses many components that are crafted so they can show the tree properly, and is relatable and known, I think that's why they chose it.

So i thought about the BP issue, and The real solution for Most bps in game would be putting back OLD robot BEACON loot, and does not even have to go into beacons. Why not put this loot like Robot thermal units into Space mobs and mech units i don't have all the right names for these things. but by doing this would help Space Average mu on new space mobs and could be put all around the universe. Beacons them selves aren't even great to run other then the beacon strong box to loot.

To be honest with Aris i was hoping this old beacon loot would of went into there robots. but as i see that design and i appreciate it can be left alone.

The place that would be beneficial to all players would be space mobs cause new player and old player alike would gain access to Farming these things and would help the economy as a whole. Removing bps that have no use makes no sense to me. as i been playing since 2006 and the crafting system back in the day had a good balance and specturum obvisouly evolution is the key.

But bps like D52 D44 Finders are out of reach for players and those are fun great finders. i get it Dsec30 takes the cake. but the bps were rare to begin with and putting the old Loot back into the game through space mobs would be a great economy booster as it would give players new things to do for some value Aka not only skills but actual markup.

I see the loot in general is tightened up on planets like Calypso which is fine, which should technically help markup over all, but players don't understand how markets work and impatient / traders are the real controllers of mu.

ATAU's even were great and some other old components would again open up to older weapons to be clicked again but again understand Armatrix system is the king of weapons /amps as such. then ARis new weapons coming out and like the system to Drop the bps in hunting loot and makes it fun journey to play there.

a rehaul of Crafting bps in my opinion is looking at it backwards for some sort of erase of history of entropia and yet could be revived by dripping the loot into the space mobs and allow markup to flow again. by taking away rariety and options is just limiting markup in general. And Markup is what makes this game really fun makes it interesting and beyond any other game out there. Shrapnell is boring to loot but i get it.

I apologize for my spelling mistakes and such Good luck out there

We've identified hundreds of such blueprints that while deprecated, still exist in the economy. This can be very misleading for said blueprint owners, hoping that they might be able to find the missing ingredients somewhere, despite it not being possible. It also can impact new players, who don't have the game knowledge to know if a certain item is obtainable or not. So, for us to properly tackle rebalancing around blueprints and resources, we will be fully removing any blueprints gathering dust that are not possible to craft, and fairly compensating owners in the process this update.

With this out the way, we will be following immediately from this with a clean-up of lootable resources too, removing any resources that do not currently have a purpose in the game today. This will help to consolidate, and ensure that whatever you loot, fundamentally, will always be used in something.
This is almost beyond words. Excluding issues which have accumulated gradually, the quoted text might convey the most poignant dose of hopelessness of any single update since the later-revoked removal of item dropping in 2018. Defining purpose in Entropia is not the role of the developer, but of the Entropian.

I honestly don't think it is too hyperbolic to call this event something like the Great Autonomy Purge of 2026. It will be the erasure of many Entropians' first items, the erasure of traces of their past experiences, and the erasure of sentimental tokens of their relationships with other Entropians. It will disrupt their property decoration aspirations. It will further harmful conceptual presumptions of the Entropian as a "cycling animal" that must be herded and paternalized at any possible opportunity for mild confusion or mistake, not as a rational being possessing the agency to create her own goals and experiences. I'm not quite sure whether to call this even worse, but it will likely also weaken the conception of ownership which Entropians take for granted every time they consider purchasing an unlimited item for years or decades to come. Finally, the Orwellian description of mass Entropian autonomy erasure as "clean-up," conjoined with the self-ordained permission to define a one-size-fits-all notion of "purpose" and the pervasive tone of top-down paternalism, by all signs indicate that MindArk is still deeply out of touch with even a generic template of sandbox design principles let alone proper Entropia design principles in particular, raising concerns over not only this change, but all other updates in the near future.

I guess I usually try to say something more constructive than this, and I still don't think MindArk is too far gone to eventually recover, but this degree of misalignment between MindArk and the core principles of Entropia strikes me as really bleak, and I'd hope that for new kinds of changes if not repeats of existing trends, it was well in the past. If Entropia exists in the far future but still feels like it's not actually getting anywhere worth getting, I suspect this update will be among the top 10 or so moments in history worth highlighting in an exposition of when and how things went so wrong.

Does this mean for "mining resources" also?
Mainly thinking of Ark and RT

consulate loot sounds great, but with nano and shrapnel I'm fearful they will pivot more in this direction. We already usually only get shrapnel in loot and you want to make the item pool smaller?

I have a question regarding the deletion of plans and resources. It's mentioned that plan owners will be compensated. What will happen to people who have resources to be deleted? Will they only receive the TT value of these resources, a percentage added, or something else?
I'm very excited about the rest of what's been mentioned and I hope it arrives soon.
