Yes. As it is stated it is a sponsored game review. They paid guy with 30k subs to talk good things about the game.

Some say that good product sells itself. I am not against paid reviews but it is clear for everyone who watch this that this is not an honest game review simply because guy got paid to advertise EU.

Maybe that is a way to lure more new players, but will it solve the retention problem?

Clearly not!

Edit:

343 views in 4 days seems a little small amount for 30k subs channel.

It makes sense that MA would try to recruit twitch streamers and youtubers with over 30k subscribers, I applaud their efforts.

Probably fake subs. I don't know... I think a better use of resources would be setting up a full affiliate system. Why not let the players of the game market it? Just a thought.

They should be doing an affiliate system and tight locks on people exploiting it.

I agree with this method to be honest. Best way to win new customers in any business is via legitimate recommendation - and with a learning curve as steep as EU's, a major benefit would be the possibility established EU players 'training up' people they introduce.

The thing that keeps people in EU is the community. When you are new, you are not yet part of that established community and so it can be quite alienating. New players need to be guided in to the community by established players so that they feel as though they 'belong'. Just my :twocents:.

Yeah, those subs have to be fake.... EarnPED with StevieB has only 287 subscribers and his videos have almost as many views as this guy :/

Now he'll get some more views from this forum :)

But I like the fact that MA is investing in marketing, it's a good sign I think. And they're sponsoring other youtubers too, like Cereal Overdrive.

But EU is kind of entertaining when you don't think about earning. The earning part is the one that ruins experience for most of the ppl. 1st it is extremely hard to constantly earn and 2nd, you can earn more IRL anyways. Good job MA for sponsoring this video

Quite a lot of the views will be from us discussing it on discord lol!

I wonder if they have any plans to support their own streamers, who actually play the game and regularly advertise it across several platforms.

Anyone make a guess for the gun the guy is using?

Wonder how much skill MA pumped into this avatar... Everything is awesome when you have unLimited pedcard and pumped skills by the DEV's.

Not much honest and very superficial review, does he even tell about the Real Cash Economy aspect of the game?

They already do..
Check at your loots. :wise:

This is a RCE, alot of people loose so much money there very fast, how MA could "sponsoring" player other way ?

Streaming is already a form of advertissing.
How efficient it would be if streamers get bad return like casual gamers, and they would stream their disgust and frustration..? :lam:

Well Cirrus that would be easy, everytime the bad loot period comes we start to stream away our frustrations! Let's do it!

Forgo's stream was nice and also Cereal youtube videos. And I'm sure much more honest than this one.

PS: 512 views right now, 5 days after.

I guess the guy wasn't actually playing, they just gave him some footage to comment on. And he isn't even watching closely - e.g. the moment where he suddenly notices Najwir is looking funny.

Based on the preference for Angel and the way he moves, my wild guess is it's actually Dennis playing.

That is typical for a pure Entropia video on youtube that is a paid video doing it outside of his niche. Not sure what MA expected with this. What MA needs to do is a sponsored spot that is a 30 sec to 1 min add placed inside a regular video that will get 1,000's or millions of view to get exposure.

As a Youtuber who makes a living doing that let me squash this Fake Sub comment right here. As I mentioned above the sub count has nothing to do with the views because the video is on Entropia. If I do video out of my niche topics that my channel is known for it will get very poor views. That is expected. Subs don't mean views, that isn't how the Youtube algorithm works.

I have more than his 30k Subs and if were to do a pure Entropia video it will get under 1k views. That is how Youtube works and I have videos with over 1 million views.

The only way to get good marketing traction on Youtube is to have a paid sponsored add inside a video that I am covering on my normal topics. Subscribers and recommended viewers by Youtube are there to see my work and watch my content, then the paid Entropia spot that everyone sees. This is how proper marketing is done on Youtube.

With that said I would be open to doing this if the conditions were right. Has to be a win for my audience as well because I care deeply about my content. I would never do a paid sponsored add just to do one. MA should work on the hot topic of fixing the hunting loot first though.

PS- January is the worst month on Youtube

Well, I think it's at least a good try of MA.
And no, good products don't sell themselves. This commercial nonsense.
If nobody knows your product or if they don't know it's good, nobody will buy.
You will always have to put effort in selling your product if you want to be successful.
If the market doesn't know you, they wont buy you, simple as that.

Also I don't think this video is made for player retention. So no, that won't help a lot, but it can definitely help finding flesh blood!

I gave it a

Much better video by a much better Youtuber who's niche is economy topics. Hence much better results. If you will notice the topic/title of all his videos is on Economy so talking about Entropia's Economy fits within the parameters to get views on a larger channel. This video should easily get over 100K views.

At least he was also up front about the Casino and explaining the economics. Even right down to the final thought, Entropia is far from it's peak with a dwindling player base. Probably the best objective video on Entropia out there explaining the Good and the Bad.

Edit- Someone in rookie chat saw this video and is trying the game. So that is a great thing and more like this needs to happen.

tbh i've always been a supporter of fresh players, streaming and/or sharing their experience to the greater masses, or also us old EU farts who watch EU streams for the giggles.

some people mentioned retention rate before. i can only agree to further debate that issue, as i've really lost many many friends since i came here, and i guess i'm not alone on that.

sure, 5$ came back recently, for more numbercrunching cucumbers. but does that really count? no it doesn't. generally said: people tend to neither understand nor listen. tldr! ;)

what i mean is following ... if mindark doesn't also change their amongst longterm players well know business habits, i see very low chances that this new wave of EU residents won't end on the same dumpster one-way-road of disappointment, like the (estimated) 0.5M accounts before in EU history...

(note: with accounts i meant real persons playing EU)
