I've been building my own gaming rigs since the 90s. If you're a hardware nerd like me, this stuff interests you. So, I'm wondering what other hardware people play on while playing Entropia Universe and any other games you're in to.

I built my current rig at the end of 2018. At the end of 2019 I upgrade the processor and graphics card, and increased the memory. Here's the current spec list with a picture of my setup below:

EVGA DG-76 Matte Black ATX Mid-Tower Case
EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G3 Power Supply
EVGA Z370 Classified K ATX Motherboard
Intel Core i7-9700K Processor
EVGA CLC 120mm All-In-One RGB LED CPU Liquid Cooler
Corsair VENGEANCE LPX 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4 2666MHz C16 Memory - Black
EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER XC ULTRA 8GB Graphics Card
Western Digital Black NVMe M.2 2280 500GB SSD
Western Digital Blue 3D NAND SATA 2.5" 1TB SSD
Western Digital Black Performance 7200RPM 3.5" 2TB HDD
Dual Vertical Mounted AOC G2460VQ6 FreeSync 24" 1920x1080 75Hz 1ms Monitors
Corsair K63 Compact Tenkeyless Mechanical Wired Gaming Keyboard - CHERRY MX Red Switches
Corsair M65 PRO RGB FPS Wired Optical Gaming Mouse - Black
Svzioog 19-key USB 2.4GHz Wireless Number Pad
Logitech Z623 200W 2.1 THX Speakers
Kingston HyperX Cloud II Headset - Gun Metal
Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows

Thanks, I built it just over a month ago. I still need to get a gaming chair and a racing wheel. I don't really play to many other games just old arcade games and a couple of racing games. I can't use headphones due to needing to hear my surroundings but the speakers sound great. Your PC is a very capable gaming PC. I upgraded from a 4770K which to be honest was a very good processor. I also had a gtx 780 so the 2080 ti was a big improvement.

That is indeed a might upgrade! When I first built this rig in 2018 I put in an i5-8600K and an EVGA GTX 1060 SC 6GB with 16GB of memory. After a year with that I knew I need an upgrade for my needs. I then took that i5 and 1060 and built a secondary gaming rig that sits in another room of my home.

I play lots of different games here and there. Racing/Driving games are my forte though. I really enjoy games like American Truck Simulator and Assetto Corsa. The only two MMOs I'm currently playing regularly are Entropia and AdventureQuest 3D. I'm also really into Space Sims and Flying Sims. I'm a Star Citizen backer and I'd really like to get the new Microsoft Flight Simulator. Haven't bought that yet.

I know what you mean about the headphones/headsets. I love the one I have but rarely use them. I prefer speakers whenever possible. The Logitech's I have a really nice. The chair I've got isn't that bad. It's basically a budget gaming chair, but I've been pleased with it.

Next thing I want to upgrade is one or both of my monitors. I'm looking into getting one or more 27" G-Sync 2560x1440 144Hz 1ms monitors. I may just get one and use the two monitors I have now as side monitors. I know I'll be getting at least one though near the end of this year. Most likely either the ASUS TUF VG27BQ or the Dell S2716DG.

Have you run any benchmarks on the SLI 1060s? I'm curious how they compare to a single higher-end card. For instance my 2060 Super scores a 9053 on the graphics portion of 3DMark Time Spy (8234 on the CPU portion for a combined overall score of 8919).

Intel i7 5820k, cooled with Noctua NH-D15
ASUS X99-DELUXE mb
ASUS RTX 2080 8Gb Strix OC
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16Gb 2666MHz
Samsung 850 Pro 1Tb SATA + 970 PRO 1Tb NVMe
Seasonic Platinum SS-1000XP 1000W
Silverstone Fortress FT02B case
2 x 27" AOC Q2770PQU + 27" old iMac in display mode
Corsair K65 keyboard, Logitech G502 mouse

Built it in the summer of 2014 and it works 24/7 since then. In 2019 replaced the dying GTX 980 with 2080 and added a new NVMe drive (not needed it but the price was enticing and was curious to see the 4gb/sec in action; bloody marvelous). Won the silicon lottery with the cpu, having it overclocked 3.3 -> 4.4ghz with air cooling while maintaining 25' idle and 50' while playing EU (largely thanks to the FT02, best case by cooling/silence I ever owned).

well...
here is a cheap build
Ryzen 7 1700
GA-AB350-Gaming 3
2x8GB Corsair (i dont remember what but without fancy RGB and at 2666 MHz)
Samsung 970 Evo 500GB M2 NVME
some 2TB WD 5-6 years old
Saphyre Vega 64 (build does not really matter, switched to the eco BIOS)
Chassis: Silverstone Hifi raster one...15 years old at least (could not afford the one with touchpanel)

might all sound lowish, but since I am gamin on a 48" TB in FHD, there has not been one game I can not throw at it :D
as for sound... HDMI passes through an Pioneer VSX-932, no back sorrund, but some Atmos on some old JBLs, Center is a small 30EU type (does the job), Subwoofer some really really old Blaupunkt (must have two 15"ers in it ?)...I mean really old, the ones where you had to run cables below it to define the function of the speakers...so old...ot is on wheel and serves as well as a table :D

not much...but still can game anything and still have FoH rinning in the background :D
And besides the Sound setup, must have cost me below 1500 USD.

in 92 started with 386, bw screen, 2M ram and 40MB drive. Upgraded to 4MB ram because of World of Warcraft, still had bw screen though

10900X + cryorig H5 - because I VM a lot
128G at CPU speed because RAM clocking is for wannabes
1 x EVO 970 for system, 4 x 2TB RAID5 960 PRO + 4 x 2TB RAID5 960 PRO for data
2080Ti while playing EU at min settings, but destiny 2, mad max, arma 3 etc get maximum love. You don't need GPU to watch crafting terminal 23 hours/day
random 10 years old coolermaster case + random leftover noctua coolers because I'm an IT guy and I get tons of leftovers
good old G15 + m2 master 2s

Doesnt even come close the the 2060 or current cards.

It was a bit of a unique position because i had one 1060 in the system already, then when i was looking at a 1080 for a possible upgrade i realized i could get to within 5% of the performance for 1/5th of the price by just adding another 1060. I wouldn't recommend going down that path rather than just a single beefier modern card. but long term if an intermediate upgrade is needed adding a second card of the same type once their cheap isn't a terrible option. They only score about 4950 on the time thief mark but at about half the cost of the 2060

I have entropia running on 3 machines.
A core 4th gen core i3 with 12 gb ram and a 1050ti, I only play on this machine when my ryzen/2070 is mining crypto
I also have a laptop with intel inbuilt gfx and a core i3 and 8 gb. I run it sometimes when I am not home.
And recently I bought a Ryzen 3900x with rtx 2070 super and 32gb of ram from some entropia items I sold. I run this machine at 1440p.

I see. I'm familiar with the 1060. When I first built my rig in 2018 I put in an i5-8600K and an EVGA 1060 SC 6GB. When I upgrade at the end of 2019 I took that i5 and 1060 and built a secondary rig for another room in my home. That system now mainly gets used for distributed computing purposes and occasionally as a secondary gaming rig when the need arises.

Beck then when I benchmarked it with Time Spy it scored a 4331 GPU score, 5606 CPU score and a 4483 overall score. That's why I was wondering mostly, because I am familiar with that hardware.

GTX 520M. Playable in low setting, but very prone to overheating, therefore often safe mode (that you can no longer adjust brightness/contrast in safe is a problem). Mobile G4/G3 metered, ping around 60-100 ms depending on weather. To be upgraded eventually but works surprisingly well against the odds.

The first computer I ever owned, that was mine personally, was also a 386SX-16 CPU, 2MB RAM, and a 40MB HDD. Also had a 5-1/4" and 3-1/2" floppy drive. 14" VGA monitor. Bought it in I believe 1990 or 1991. I started building my own after that one. The first one I built had an AMD 486DX2-80 CPU and 8MB RAM. It was a beast for its time! Played a lot of multiplayer DOOM 2 through local BBS's on that rig.

My first one was a ZX81, followed by a zx Spectrum, then a Amiga 500, after which came an Amiga 2000 and then an Amiga 4000...yes I am an old fart :D
First "sole" Intel PC was around end of the 90ies, before that I was quite happy with my 386 Card in the Amiga...and never really saw a need for an Intel performance wise.

There were BBS to play games like Doom?
Never saw anything else than those Dungeon Crawlers at that time :D

Yep there was a client software that was used in conjunction with connecting to the BBS that allowed 4-player matches (max amount at that time). I was involved in quite a few Seattle area tournaments. The BBS I played through was named "Aftershock! BBS". Of course the BBS had all the other traditional door games that could be played as well. I actually ended up becoming Co-Sysop for that BBS after getting to know and becoming friends with the Sysop, a guy that went by the name Bigguy.

I play 99% on a laptop.. without mouse etc.. works fine for me.
I usually picks the Dell XPS 15 (7590) with a gtx1650 (i think) and it works great with pretty high settings...
I've played a lot on a retired Lenovo X1 Yoga gen 2, but with lower settings and that worked great as well.. I play on a newer gen 4 from time to time on the same settings as I use on the Dell and it feels a little sluggish, but it's not really built for gaming...

The 1% is on a "real" computer with an Intel i7 9xxx, and 2060-card...

The most important part for me is mobility, playing in bed, in the couch, at the kitchen table etc...
