G'day Chirpies
Space PvP is essential to the economy of Motherships; without it, they would be nothing more than stationary constructs with no real purpose. Theocles made a valid point regarding PvP asteroid zones, risk is an inherent part of the game, and those who take it must accept the consequences. Looting doesn't occur due to hacking but rather due to a widespread misunderstanding among Entropians about the dangers and opportunities of space. While Bonnie claims that players travel through space out of necessity, the truth is that many, both veterans and newcomers, fall victim to impatience with warp times or reluctance to pay for safe passage. Greed is a powerful motivator.
Planetside PvP and space PvP are vastly different; the former relies on the investment in skills, while space combat is largely dependent on mouse and keyboard proficiency. Standing in groups and staring at NPCs all day does not translate to real skill in space combat. Beyond the loot itself, there is an undeniable satisfaction in reading the enraged reactions of defeated players, preserved in a folder I've labelled "Angry Chats." As for space borders, travel has become remarkably safe, with looting now nearly impossible.
A true lootable zone in Entropia would not only give Motherships their intended function but also inject a sense of realism into the game's economy, where players truly face the risk of losing everything. These experiences create compelling stories of risk-taking and failure. Reputation, in this game, is largely an illusion. Despite being a long-time PKer for over 13 years, selling items has never been an issue; when players need crafting materials or UE5 tokens, their principles quickly fade. Ultimately, few care who gets looted as long as they can retrieve the items they need.
