What is your RL profession?

Current job, for 4 years now, install, maintain POS (PointOfSale) systems for stores/restaurants etc. Training system users to handle stuff with their system and so on.
Business card says system specialist so i guess i'm one of the IT people then ;)

Earlier worked for an ISP installing and maintaining internet connections for companies for 10 years.

dang all you guys seems like such functioning normal people irl..what happens in game stays in game I guess:laugh:

dishboy
carny worker(sneaky bastards carny folk)
labourer
personal slave to an ex bodybuilder with extreme paranoia(too much steroids,survived that one phew)
farmer
managing estates
general low grade teacher
personal assistant
woodworking teacher

EDIT: never been fired, had to put that in

I've also done some free helping out on a dive boat in Egypt

and now I quit my job to study programming(c++ but I'm probably doing Java next or go in to the whole
web deal with SQL,php,JS etc not sure)

so any tips for rookie programmer be welcome... I especially love to divide by 0 and point to nothing as my special moves:cool:

Have been a traveling service engineer for about 4 years now, but just changed position to a non-travel-sit-on-my-ass-all-day position for a London based company, in Norway, that delivers satellite communication to vessels all over the globe :)
Currently planning on writing a book as well! Just need to work out a suitable ending... and a story :)
 
In my twenties i was an international DJ
in my thirties i owned a bar
in my forties i was a fraud investigator and I am currently a project manager for a construction company in Africa

which all sounds completely unbelievable when I read it back, but the truth is often stranger than fiction :p

Cool thread very interesting.

Very first job was on a Saturday on the market in Manchester then we moved back to Australia and got a job as a trainee Welder then left that to explore Australia, got back and became a Sign Writer, then got a job at a Print shop and was given the opportunity to became a qualified Printer at 30 years old (or Offset Lithographer if I'm trying to impress the ladies :) )

Then I was made redundant when the boss sold the business so started my own web design business with a mate for 15 years doing website, flash animations etc then WordPress came along and ruined the web pretty much and now every website looks the same so was boring the hell out of me until at 50 years of age a client offered me a job that was to good to turn down so now i get to mess with 3D, Photoshop and YouTube all day making pretty pictures and videos for a plant nutrient range that is crushing it all over the world.

Life is good... enjoy

Obviously im a space astronaut if thats too unbelieveable im a ceo from something that have to do with IT and if that dosnt sell im at least a well renowned broker, estates, stocks, expensive cars you name it, who have nothing to do with pysical labour :smoke:

in the internet nobody knows you're a dog

I'm currently working on motor's assembly line for one of the largest korean automobile manufacturer. Before that I was working for Volkswagen, making all kind of operations (lathing, boring, hardening...assembling) on drive flanges that were used in VW group cars.
Sounds kinda boring, but I like it. I like making cars more than driving them :)

I used to be an adventurer like you but then I took an arrow to the knee...

Someone how jumps from one job to another constantly. Same with my EU life :p.
But the older i get the longer I seem to stay at my jobs.

But in order I have been working as:
- Hopp-I-Land-Kalle (Jump-A-Shore-Dude who picks up tickets on a sightseeing boat)
- Moped deliverer
- Fine mechanics disciple
- Cleaning
- Storage worker
- Dish washer
- Truck driver delivering medicin, post, various cargo
- Bus driver for handicapped people
- Kid Entertainer (no, not a clown)
- Working in a shop ran by a an animal protection association
And after a few years of pulling myself together
- Phonetician at a small research lab segmenting speech data
- Project employee on a speech recognition software project
- E-book producer making adapted teaching materials for blind and visually impaired students

So far away from my dream as a kid, to be an astronaut.
But which kid didnt wanna be that after having watched Armstrong on tv 1969.

Author - writing under Jess Mountifield and Amelia Price. Sci-fi and fantasy under the first and Mycroft Holmes fiction under the later. Doesn't earn as much as people think but having a shelf of my books is kinda cool
 
well as im still under aged i cant officially have a job (im 15ps) i do mess arround with youtube a bit and make some moneys from it :D
this Saturday i will start working at an restaurant as an waiter :D (its an 0 hour job though (payed per time working)

I know what that means! But we don't have one here, I just say to myself...hmmm those names don't sound familiar, and then I tell them to pay me.

After I retired from the semiconductor industry, I started several companies with each up to 50.000 workers.

We manufacture organic confectionery and bio-fuel, do the logistics as well as safeguarded storage. On request we can provide agricultural pollination services.

Even though I recently now work for the number one most popular search engine in the world, I'm still searching for my ATH in EU, lol. :cool:
