Hi im just wondering, if someone was to invest into something ingame. What kind of % would he expect, or agree with to get back monthly/yearly?

If none of the options apply please pick other and state why.

Make the numbers realistic please, since this could be important in the near future.

**Btw this will include compound interest, for the yearly numbers.

Well, thats easy!

0
zero
none
nada

Depends on the ivnestment. EU as a whole expect 0 return. It's a game.

But if your buying land, a mall, a shop, an apartment complex, etc. Then your talking differently. and there are some expected returns.

ok no im just saying not into the game...like for example u give 100ped to someone how much u expect to get back in a year or a month

Well, if you gave 100 PED to someone long time ago and they bougt an ML35 with it, then a lot. Today...probably not that much.

but ok well im just asking... would u give a guy 1000 peds for a year with 5%monthly, if no then maybe 10% monthly and so on...

5% u end up getting 1800ped
10% u end up getting 3150ped

im just asking...

I see what you are asking. With inflation rates as they have been (200% per year conservatively), you would have to charge 20-30% montly rate to stay on par, to profit a bit more.

200% yearly is only 11 or so % monthly :) with compound interest that is.

Its all in the poll u can see monthly, and then annualy with compound interest.

15-20% / 535-890% 2 16.67%

lol we have some greedy people.

Ty for all the votes, except its to early to tell i think. But once this finishes and i decide what to do, ill leave a post here. :)

I would say having the investment pay back in a year is fair.

/edit: That is with the time you have to put in excluded. If you spend additional 4 hours per day running the business, you should expect to get paid for that too.

As a plain player, nothing at all in return

Talking as a street trader I make about a 5% profit, i.e. buy small quantities of lyst for about 104-5 and sell for 109.
If I can make one sell a week, then thats a 20% a profit a month. Obviously the more profit you make the more ores you can buy after, i.e. more transactions
can't be bothered to work the compound out, but lets say 25% a month....

5-10% monthly is what I would like to get from business-like investments (Beautician, shop owner/trader, pilot, land owner) and what I voted. It'd keep my compulsive hunting at bay.
0-5% is what I'd like to get for borrowing money/stuff out - I can always sweat to get a few ped and some skills.

As for 'keeping up with the insane inflation' - I don't need to, the only markup I'm paying now is for Korss. I am happy with my armor (Although I won't say EW! if I ever loot or get a good price on any new parts or plates) - you'd be surprised what Shogun with A1/A2 plates can take on, doubly so when fellow socmates are kind enough to outdamage you and thus tank most of the stuff.

And for the fun factor of this low-game... How long has it been since you uber guys had 'HAAAAAAARGH YEAH'! feelings about emerging alive from a heap of three baby atroxes?

ty for all ur replies... this really helps with making my decision to suit more of the community :)

There is no such thing as "fair investment return" in if you are a hunter...lol

J/K, but with the way things are going now, its not gonna be a joke soon.

i dont quite get what your fishing for here? are you planning on starting a lending business/bank? or borrowing for yourself? or somthing else.

a fair return in this game is 0, noone looses that way. im happy to loose a bit (not 50+% per hunt though  ) since this is a past time. if you are comparing with real life, genuine investments, 5% a year is a good bank rate, so thats reasonable return on any investment (and all rl investments will bench themselves against the prevailling interest rate). taking account costs of bring in money and repatriating it, you might want to be getting 10-12%. for something more speculative, 20% maybe? now if you mean to earn a rl living in EU then your return needs to be much higher but really depends on where you live. someone in India can live on a lot less than someeon in Germany.

so fair is relative and subjective.

I "invest" (NO I don't, I pay, to play) a set amount each month.
I expect to get nothing back, apart from more skill, and a lot of fun.

umm i no my question is pretty vague, bot mostly everyone here got the right idea...
soon u guys will see what im hitting at... and no its not related to the bank sale in eu

yeah mainly it is for fun so unless u want to earn back u need to put some cash in it the more u put the more u get back but it is always hard to earn cash back

not much of an investment then if you don't expect any of it back :silly2: but fair enough even if you don't expect anything you could get more back.. its like they say isnt it: you actually start makin money when you play to have fun, not play to make money....

why don't you just explain yourself now so we can help you with better numbers? im guessin that poll is skewed by most people not knowin what you're even on about. it depends on the investment, surely....

If I could play EU at a -20% to +20% I would be very very happy.

As this is entertainment, i only expect 0% returns. If i'm able to play another week with the return, then i'm really happy.
*Needs to hit the jackpot*

well for any investment... decent is the ability to regain your investment after 3 years.... or a 33%ROI/year using that figure... about 2.75% per month would be pretty good....

as for what you can expect when investing in EU... it really depends on what you invest in...

Yeah basicly it is posible to earn but it take long time and BIG investment so it can be counted as "Payingback investmenst"

ok say u were gonna invest some money into someone else what percent would u ask for each month...

LOL - where are the negative ROI options? I'd be happy with getting 70% of what I put in back!

deleted by me. oops, have already said what i just said. (D'Oh)
