Hi guys :D

My names Dave, I'm from England and was just about to create an account on the official page and was wondering what "start location" to pick.

I played Anarchy-Online for about 3 years and got pretty involved and far in it (3-4 accounts :eek: ) so I like the mmorpg genre, I stopped playing Anarchy-Online a few months ago and need another mmorpg to split my time from another game a play alot (Counter-Strike)

You should see alot more of me if i like this game ;)

I think you may be bombarded with a few more questions along the way too so I apologise in advance :)

Hey there Dave, and welcome to Entropia and these forums :)

I'd love to suggest a start location, but I don't know what they offer (since it was a long time ago since most of us started!)

I'd strongly advise against choosing the Space Resort as your start location -- this is possibly the worst of all.

If you could tell us what your choice is, we can help you make an educated decision!

Yeah Port Atlantis is a good one, although New Oxford is an interesting place with very little lag. You might find it a bit less noisy too (PA can be very confusing for a new guy!)

I suppose the main advantage with starting in PA is that most others start there too. Being from the UK maybe New Oxford would be the place of choice however?

In any case I wish you luck, and have fun. If you need any advice you've found the best place for it!
 
Hi there and welcome :) I'd choose Port Atlantis myself but either is fine. I'm also from the UK and if u want some help any time then pm me here and we can arrange to meet :D
 
Thanks for the tips guys :D

I've also deposited 10 dollars so i have some PED's to help me along my online adventure :)

I got lucky and was guided around along with a few others, only for a short time though so now im back at PA running around aimlessly as most noobs do :D

Just need to find out the basics and where to start "levelling" or whatever you call it on this game :)

Glad to hear you found your way ok! There's quite a number of helpful folk around thankfully so you should never get too lost!

Good idea to deposit some cash to get you started -- that'll help you no end. It'll at least enable you to try some hunting and mining and get you your first ammo.

If you get stuck, either tell us in this thread or send us a PM and I'm sure one of us can help you out.
 
Just not sure where to start and what to "specialise" in so just reading bits and bobs to see what I'd prefer

I have inserted a link to an excellent thread. It's entitled Rules and pertains to the rules governing your use of this forum. Since you are so keen to learn, why not take a moment and review them. Of particular note is paragraph 4 under the General Rules section. It asks that we do not discuss or name other mmorpgs. I couldn't help but notice, your opening post mentioned two. Just FYI...

As do I, young Davey, as do I. It would be ever so nice of EF to allow space for that sort of discussion. We are a community of gamers, and as such we share a common interest in them. I don't think other mmorpgs represent a threat to the EU, as there is really nothing else quite like it. Be that as it may, I wish you well. Perhaps we shall meet up some time. I am a newcomer as well. tata!

I'm in Wiltshire at the moment :)

So far I have a mentor ( sob ) and have some armour and 2 guns :D

Getting there and understanding the game as we go :wise:
