Why was A106 left out?

It seems really strange and unbalanced that A105 and A204 are now upgradable, while the A106 doesn't seem to be.
Is it a new-VU mistake or is it intentional?
Will the A106 be upgradable at a later point?

As A106 user i must say I feel oddly and unbalancedly left out of this adj./imp. amplifier upgrading system.
Well maybe it is just now my turn now to learn about (not to) investing any serious money in here.
 
I thought the a106 was refinable? Was yours full TT when you tried?
 
Slightly off-topic, but related: this doesn't consume laser amps does it? Really hope not, since they aren't crafted, and don't drop anymore. Or, if they do drop, the drop rate needs to be increased.

Yes, it can (most surely) be refined to "A100 seriers parts", used to upgrade other amps. The amp itself does not seem to be upgradable at the moment. :scratch2:

Looks like a typical MA new-VU mess-up: "Hey let's make the two biggest laser amps upgradable, they're called A204 and A105 right?"
 
I was kidding, but since you brought it up....

Every single Omegaton Axxx amp has higher damage per pec than the Fi/Ra/Co Dante. And they'll get better once the recipe is figured out or it won't be much of an upgrade now will it?

I say again, what about the bang bang blp addicts?? :eyecrazy:

I'm starting to get a better picture as to how this is done now, thanks.

Overall seems bad, less amps ingame for people to actually use in hunting.

Being Owner of the A106 im unhappy and this is unfair for limiting a few choice of amps instead of all of them
 
Yeah, but what about the piles of a103s that must still be floating around? Unless they've all been TT'd, they seem like the ideal donors.

I really hope this sytem fails, just so the profit hungry knob cheeses can cry over their lost ped :)

I confess. I've been buying up all of the E-Amp 15's. I figure it's just a matter of time before they go through the roof. :D
 
What about A101 amp? Or a102 amp? Show some :love:
What is a newbie going to do when they start out and can't even amp their opalo's because all the A101 amp cost tt+500?

Meh they better start dropping them amps again or make it craftable. If I see a Omegaton A101 (L) edition in the future. I will... :banghead::sniper::rocket::cdevil::cussing::censored::bomb::launcher:

I have sent a supportcase asking about the situation regarding A106 if this is intentional or something that will be corrected at some point. Trying to keep my hopes up it could end with a fair and balanced solution.

Obviously if you want a stronger amp than an A101... you buy an A102. A similar progression exists already for A103, A104 and A105. This thread exists because it makes little sense to allow the A105 to be upgraded to higher damage but not the top-of-the-line A106. It really doesn't make sense to allow for any but the most powerful amp in the line to be upgraded: upgrades already exist for the rest...

The A20x line is already as one would expect, with only the top amp being upgradeable.

As for the price (or at least availability) of the lower A-series amps, i wouldn't worry too much. There have always been a lot more A103s than anyone needed, and in general the quantities are pyramidal. I'd bet there are at least 100 A101s for every A106 in game.

Yes exactly, the only thing that would really make sense is to begin at the top , making at least the top amp of each line upgradable, and then going down the ladder. What's the point in everyone now upgrading their A105 to A106ish stats, that was an option that already existed really as Doer said.

I still believe that it might just be a mess-up from MA's side, new VU and all, (example: remember the mindforce implant 40-50-55 mess), so I hope they would have the dignity to correct the mistake and make A106 upgradable as well.
 
Damn if DIBS was working I would have bought some amps. But the truth will be in what they actually improve to? Anyone successfully upgraded yet?

You bought all of a crafted item... will you buy all the newly crafted E-Amp 15's that will replace them? :dunce:

Please excuse my ignorance but I think I may may have missed something on the new VU release notes:

You say the A105's are now up-gradable? How are are they up-gradable? What other amps are up-gradable?

Can some please share a link ?

Have to say that for the moment it appears things are as intended. They made it possible to turn the second-highest A100 series into 3x longer lasting highest A100 series. This time around the A106 owners and A204 SGA owners get screwed.

On the bright side, if they successfully destroy all markup in game as seems to be the aim lately, nobody stands to lose MU when these changes happen (just relative advantage, which is the origin of the MU). :scratch2: Oh, apparently also making BLP and laser exactly equal in every way is a burning need for them for some reason. Ugh.
