in regards to chipping i am thinking it is better overall to chip one large chip rather than several small chips. am i correct?

i am thinking one 100 ped chip will bring more skill than ten 10 ped chips starting from zero skill.

Yep. Saves you having to be specific on the ESI needed. You can just extract the lot and have alot spare ESI TT to make another one, rather than just getting the PED. (10 PED or less TT left, and you get PED, no left over ESI.)

Hope this makes sense. If not I can explain further. Hard to tell how much you know about ESIs from your post :)

i messed up the title. i should have stated FULL chips and adding to ones score. i wasn't talking about chipping out.

i mean if i have a 100 ped rifle chip would i get more skill than if i chipped ten 10 ped chips? seems to me regarding the diminishing returns that one large chip would suit a person better than several small.

(mods! could you fix my title?)

answer is no, though you save some decay with 1 big chip

however, i may be able to answer my own question. seems this tool exists that allows one to figure out some skill tt. :)

https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showpost.php?p=777345&postcount=82

I added a function to the PHP program to find a final skill level given an initial level and a chip size in PEDs.

You simply enter a level and (optionally) a chip tt in the URL:

http://esi.coolinc.info/?level=1000&chip=12

It can also calculate number of levels from 1 if given a tt value (the inverse function) instead of a level:

http://esi.coolinc.info/?tt=10

i will be posting my tests.

one large skill chip (1 chip at 100 ped each)

The tt value of your skill (at level 1) is 0.00 PEDs, and a chip of 100.00 PEDs tt will raise you to level 4450.5 (a gain of 4449.5 levels).

several small ones (10 chips at 10 ped each)

and so i see the answer in black and white. you save on decay. i am SO happy this is the case as i have bought a few here and there all with low tt and was afraid i might have lost out somehow.

seems strange to me that chipping from 4196 to 4312 gives you less skills than 4312 to 4450. is the calcuations off?

:scratch2: weird but they end up with the same result regardless. i see you posted it in the other thread. lets see what results.
