Ideas to improve society terminal

- Show last activity of a player(time-day-month-year), maybe an activity graph too, to determine when is the best time to catch a socmate online

- Option to Auto-kick due to inactivity(set to 1month 2months 3months 6months 1year, different rank could have a different setting of the Auto-kick)

- Auto-promote/demote (options of skill-based or duration-in-soc-based)

- Auto-Delete(Disband) SOCIETY after ALL members are inactive for more than 6 months(should be done automatically, many dead socs in game :rolleyes:)

- Leadership: leader could decide on who will take his place without people having to vote (depending on a soc TYPE: could be dictatorship, democracy or some other type)

- Alliance: 3 socs could form an aliance(meaning they could have their own chat and cooperate this way, you could also add allies to your FL from terminal)

- Society owned Properties(Land Areas, Shops, Malls, Banks) - holder of deed able to set a % of how much goes to each member from the revenue (more complex explanation to come)

ADDED from suggestions in posts below:

- Society list (no need to put all your society members in FL list, you can PM them from soc list and see if they are online or offline)

- Application: should be more complex(add date of entry into the game, max lvl in any prof, total skills)

- Add that soc leaders should be able to see each members total skill count OR add a feature so that players can choose who can see their skills in the soc (leader only, co-leaders, all etc.)

- Change soc rank from average skill total to average skill volume (tt value).

- Minimum 10 members to be ranked.

- Ability to notify all members with important information.

- Increase maximum number of member "Ranks" available in the society and make the rank titles customisable by the society leader. (Similar to the way ranks work in XFIRE guild).

- Make society features also available through the web interface to aid senior members with administration (for example, so that member list could be cut&pasted into a spreadsheet).

- Different color of message when a soc mate globals or hofs (so that we dont miss it)

- Update of GUI for Society Terminal (its funny how we have a different looking GUI for everything)

- Society Calendar (to mark events, meetings, birthdays, or other events)

- Society Storage, members put in items they can lend out and the soc leaders are able to recall these items at any time. In addition to that it could be upgradeable so it can hold more items (Either by events, missions or other form)

- Access to society features via smartphone app Virtual Tycoon

- Ability to add/remove your own or any other Society to Estate/Vehicle/Space Ship guest list as one entry.

- Ability to turn on/off Soc chat write ability for all or custom members.

- Remove Society terminal altogether. Make it's menu and interface be accessible anywhere by a using a hotkey or action library action.

nice ideas.

A few other ideas...
Remove "founder" from the terminal since many "founders" were alt accounts, and/or are no longer active.

One click option to add all in society to friend list. One more click option to add all in society to vehicle guest list and/or estate guest list.

Make the alliance option more then 3 societies... maybe 10 societies? NBK and Wild D3amons both have more then 3 sub-societies as do others...

Society "funds" would be nice... but not sure MA or FPC can do that since they don't want to be blamed when societies scam some member or some member scams the society and end up walking away with the other participants' cash.

Like your ideas, maybe I'll post a support case also :).

Would also like teams with no limit :laugh:. So lots of new players can hunt proteron & get a share :yup:.

Great list, I like these ideas a lot.

Would also need an auto-demote (skills based option) for those members who do some sneaky chipping out. This would work well if each soc can set its own promotion rules rather than a set of fixed MA/FPC/SEE or whoever based rules.

While we're at it, some new rank templates would be nice and maybe increase the number of ranks per soc as well.

And change the Captain rank. Seems a bit odd that you could be a third tier member in a military soc or boss rank in a mercenary soc.

Totally agree! and also:


  • Prevent an avatar that is being investigated by suport for some reason can not apply for admission to a society.
  • That the application includ the following information:
    • date of entry into the game.
    • the level of the three major professions.
 
Good ideas and here's another one:

- Remove Society terminal altogether. Make it's menu and interface be accessible anywhere by a using a hotkey or action library action. Trade, repair and revive terminals have obviously a reason to exist, but the society interface wouldn't break anything by being accessible from anywhere.

This game is about people, about societies, and society terminal wasnt updated since its been implemented(no added content as far as I know).

Yeah, it wont generate MA/FPC money - oh, we might have a problem there :rolleyes:

Ill add one little thing to the list. The way leadership voting is handled also needs to be changed. Currently if the soc exists of > 50% inactive members it is impossible to vote for a new leader as the inactive voters automatically vote for the soc leader in affect nullifying everyone votes. Perhaps something like the vote runs for 1 - 4 weeks after someone has voted for a new leader and only active players during that time can vote. If you log in after someone has submitted a nomination and you haven't voted yet you should get a notification of an active vote. They should somehow limit this so that if the first persons vote fails he can not nominate a new leader for 3 or 4 months otherwise it will be a constant voting frenzy thanks to some jackass that keeps trying and always failing.

I agree that there needs to be changes here but your point is not quite right.

If the leader sets themself as unelectable then the next person with the most votes will win. Works well but is obviously of no use if you're aiming for a coup d'état :tiphat:

also perhaps adding into a Soc List instead of having to add each individual in friends list?

Actually I think it would in the long run.... If they cared about the people, makes it easier for us etc we will be happier and then most likely spend more.... The better the game, the more people... right?

I once had a simular idea, but in a way with less user interface:

Once a player had not logged in withing 6 months, he would automatically be set "unvotable".

If this is the current society leader, a new "voting procedure" will take place as if the leader had set himself unvotable.

Voting process will be say 24 or 48 hours, during which the members will have a chance to vote on a new leader.

If a society has no electable person, the society is disbanded due to lack of leadership after a week where everyone in the society logs in gets a message that society will be disbanded due to lack of leadership.

I guess though that having a "last active", why not together with a "joined" date, will make it easier for society leader to clean up and for new members/players to get an idea about how old the core of the society is.

As for alliance: It's strange there isn't one already - an alliance tab in chat window and an alliance join function for societies. MA has implemented a "force" tab in chat window and a "change force" action that noone can use, it should be easy to change the first one to "alliance" tab and second one to "change alliance" (well the alliance function is probably better suited on society terminal).
 
Added suggestions from you guys. Trying to keep it simple so will add the more complex ideas later after I make them more clear :)

Was more thinking of maintaining some sort of Democracy in socs as the current system makes it quite easy to ensure you stay in power if your the only one with high en enough rank to kick inactives. The soc will likely die off fast if the leader is inactive or useless and can not be voted out of control. But a coupe can work aswell :p
