Sad and pathetic (Ninja stealth accu spawns)

PP's or in this case SDS are responsible for spawning mob, where they spawn and how often they spawn. Globals ornot, it is definitely a bit of a cheap shot on us players. Mwahahahaa thats just evil lmao

True, we're responsible for what area what type of mob spawns, maturity and so on. However I assure you we don't have any sort of function that allows us to spawn creatures in the manner which is being discussed here. And even if we had, we wouldn't do it.

now all i need is something to give me greater then 20-30% returns... on my final peddies... before the big sell out...

got my fingers crossed for something big!... average returns been 1-2 peds on prots for me... woot!

it wouldnt be so bad if i could get a tier increase on my damn weapon... 11k peds ran through it and it hasnt moved from 2.7...

in 8 years never been soo frustrated...

ty for the response. not to be rude hanne but this has happened since before merry mayham and sds wasn't really aware this is happening? this troubles me if yall don't play and follow up with your product (even if ma codes things like spawn rate).

I got a better one.

At Neas before this pvp mess i was driving my valk around TP and asking on main chat if anyone needed a trip to fert. station... Suddenly an ambu spawn right near me and before the turret kill it, he got time to hit my valk.

Realy nice move from MA, how is possible to the ambu recognize me and hit my vehicle even before the turret kill it?!

Oh that`s the nice built in delay. The best is when the turret lets you get in several shots on a mob before it kills it. Not the wisest thing to do hunting on that border and should be avoided but it happens with close dense spawns like that around the New Switzerland tp. Have to be sure your past that mark. But there it`s either take that chance or run the extra few meters and have 20 of them on you decaying your armor. They get you one way or the other there.

The simple rule is to enjoy the way it works. If you ask me, is too easy. If AI would be any better, the mob you hit will run to you, and if you hit it again, would run in the middle of the spawn, and will only come back when you have 20 on you.

idea: remove spawns next to waterways. Can't count the number of foul that auto died at EOS a while back (might still)... Speaking of EOS - that TP really needs a turret!

WAIT... Is Hanne implying that mobs/deposits aren't generated around our avatar "on the fly" as we move around? Have RATTEXX's theories just been disproven???? :lolup:
 
indeed such sudden mob spawns may be due to the new algorithm of mob spawn which was probably implemented as preparation for Merry Mayhem .

So even while this is going on for some time now u are not aware of it and also where not informed by Ma assuming they made an adjustment ? :scratch2:

I'm enjoying one of those days, when mobs just spawn right on top of me. Three or four times, if I remember correctly.

So if there isn't any sort of function that is directly responsible for that, there must be still a function/some functions that produce this as a side effect.

Btw ... I just got killed while tping, because a mob spawned on me while I was between the worlds, resulting in two dead bodies materializing in the target tp.

What I said is not evil. Is just fun. I like it difficult and challenging. I never ever want anything to be easy. If something is easy, it should be a bug. Easy is boring.
The only thing that I know at this point that is way too easy and boring, but can make a ton of money, is mining. And it can be made so much more interesting and challangeing.

As it is, a monkey with bombs and no skill can profit in EU. This is just wrong.

Oh, and almost forgot... Turrets at at outposts should kill green dots sometimes. You should always have a 5% chance to be killed by a turret. That is an other system that is heavy exploited.

black hawk... whats happened to you? lately you have been making some comments that..... are very......... unpopular.

and turrets killing players? are you meaning every second you stand in a turret's range there is a 5% chance it will kill you or if you are running to a turret to escape mobs there is a 5% chance it might hit you as well?

behind this playful replies i see some serious sugestions about the game which could make it more challenging and interesting .
having 5 % chance to be killed when turret may temper a bit the hunting at turret cover, and think about it like a colateral damage that happens like IRL ;)
and about skill decay suggested by BH in another thread , if is done in reasonable mild manner, can make players focus on one specialisations and not in being Jack of ALL trades . this way the MU will rise , not being able to compete for example as a hunter with a miner or as a crafter with a hunter and so on.
such changes could make dynamic not just the loot but the gameplay itself .
my point is if MA/SDS are able to implement in a proffesional way such ideas in their true spirit, then DO IT !
otherwise let the game as it is . and is not very encouraging to know that developers didn't know about such " ninja spwans " .

now the turrets track players (why the fudge do they do this?) and this causes targeting issues since it has to untarget the player target mob, fires a burst. after the mob is hit it takes roughly 3-4 seconds before it dies.
in case of groups on mobs:
fir a burst, relock player, unlock player, fire burst, re lock player, repeat.......
the turrets have infinite ammo, why do they do this burst thing?

.... now we are really off topic lol. sorry.
 
I thought of a way this could be being caused by unintended consequences. If the spawn algorithm was changed to try to fill the spawn more evenly, you would get more respawns around players. Because you naturally get an empty space around players. There are a lot of reasons why somebody would use such an algorithm, none of which are 'screw over the players' or 'get more decay'.

This would not only explain mobs spawning closer to avatars, it would also explain mob spawns around turrets.

I do not agree with this words because i remember back in 2006-07 i never had a mob spawns like today it was rare times that i got a "ninja stealth" mob and i i got 1 i was sure to 90% that that mob was a global.

Nowdays i getting lot of this "Ninja stealth" mobs and never a singel global at just this mobs ---> So sure the algorithms has changed along the way and only 1 able make it.

I belive -->No... MA made this algorithms at CP and now transferred to the Planet But the speed note made ​​it so hard like on CP because they could make more money on that.

actually being in ancient greece has let me study how spawns work somewhat.

Originally when I arrived theres never any mob anywhere they always spawn after I arrive and am running around. after I am in a location for 30 mins or so they seem to finish spawning around me and then they are forever on the map even days later when i come back. So they seem to only spawn when a person is around.

Its only on client side, everyone sees the turret aimed at them, anotherwords if 10 ppl stood at turret they all would see it aimed at them on their client:wise:

but back on topic i have seen this new "ninja spawn" feature,, it is especailly annoying wen trying to find a empty area to afk to use bathroom, you come back and have 2-3 mobs chewin on you lol.

But i could see were ppl hunting really big mobs would find this feature troublesome since you always get more on you then expected.

yup thats the way it works, ones that you come across already spawned means someone else was there to spawn them
