Hello fellow Entropians !

I am a player who´s mostly been lurking around in EU for the social part of the game and ive been playing on and off from somewere around 05/06 so I thought now was the time to try out some mining :)

For those who are interested in folllowing my progress, I will be posting how my sessions fair and I would love some feedback and/or generall tips and on what I could improve.

I got about 100 mining/drilling skill and not that much knowledge more then whats summurized around the forums (run 100 m and drop etc). Enmatter mining will be the type I am going to start with and if it goes well ill move to the ores:yay:

In terms of defending myself its my P4:a and shogun armor that I have to work with, but I will try to avoid the pretty little mobs out there.:tongue2:

The finder I will be starting with is
MAtterSeeker MF-103
and Energy Extractor EE/01

I will try to use about 100 probes each run but since im new I will also try to cover a certain area so bare with me if the first runs ends prematurely.:dunce:

I have increased the numbers of probs I use from 100 to 200 per Run.

almost got all probes this run but it too me abit over 2 hours thanks to angry mobs :laugh:
Bad run in terms of hits and deposit sizes I was lucky to get a bigger Melchi in the end to even it out, but since the tt is high im happy :)

Nice log thanks for sharing - after markups you will see profit on your first run.
 
Is there any tool that keep tracks on the probes hitrate? Or do I need to keep track on that manually?

These runs wents quite well but I see a pattern on my first three runs. There have allways been a bigger deposit in the end evening out giving me green numbers instead of red :wtg: I hope those keep coming :p

you dit much better, as me in the last 10 runs (1 run = 100 bombs + 100 probs) average payback 60%. lev 38 pro / lev 33 surv.

me too :-/
i am just a average low lvl time-to-time miner but my last runs spreaded over a longer period of time are horrible!

I would say stay on planet mining not worth doing Club tuna Aka Foma with low drops. your doing well Stay on planet and hit that tower :)

I got red sums in TT but I think the MU will even this run out. I had alot of smaller hits the first 50 probes something like 40 % hitrate but after that my findings went very slim.

Thanks ! and it is indeed a good way to explore ^^ Yesterday I got stuck at some outpost surrounded by strong feffoids for hours. :p


The decay on my Ziplex Ju25 MatterSeeker (L) is 0.93 PEC per click so if I do a full run with 100 probes the finder gets 93 PEC decay and the finder.

The extractor Im using is Genesis Star Energy Extractor EE/01 wich got a decay of 0.5 PEC per click and usually is around 1 Ped more or less so there is no big sums there.

So I would say im having about 2 PED decay on my low lvl mining eq so far , wich is not too bad. :)

I will from now on add the Decay cost of each run as that is a cost like the probes themself. The ones I havent counted so far will be be counted with and estimated decay value that I will extract from seeing the decay in the following few rounds.

and you save yourself the highest taxes in this universe and knowing the spots you even mine markup :)

As you might have noticed the finder decay went up that is becouse I bought a new finder: MF-103. And I also tried some mining on amethera wich wasnt that fun. My hitrate was terrible but the spawns were bigger. To bad the MU on the findings was not that impressive :p

The red spree continues , my hitrate is horrible and when I hit its rly small deposits... I hope this tide turns :p Might have been more miners now during the weekend. This was on Eudoria so im gonna try amethera next run again.

PS Could anyone suggest a good spot to mine melchi for a low skilled miner? it whats making me breaking even atm and tbh Im having trouble finding a route without loads of mobs killing me. Thanks for suggestions :)

Had a pretty good run and then when I got 2 probes left I hit an Large worth all that growth molecules almost a global ftw :wtg: Sweet run :)

While im at it I could post what my skills look like after 16 Runs

I do know is that I had about 150 drilling and less then 80 Surveying when I started. My computer and Geology skills were something near 80 aswell...
