Getting absolutely no skills as pilot in the training zones - wtf?

Mobs have a timeout of skills. You only can get about 5-10 skill gains per mob before they no longer allow skill gains; at which time you must shoot them or de-agro them and collect up another group of mobs.

Just got a few from Caly, perhaps its better now?

If you have 6000 points then the progression of the skill slows down considerably. It would take around 3-4 mobs hitting you before you received at least 2 skill gains. Also, do you have your skills tab open to view skill gains?

If none of the above then I guess you should try a relog or something... :scratch2:

its more like mobs have a container filled with skill or a preset number of attacks that can give skill "only applys to defensive gains ofc"

you can drag a mob around forever as long as it cannot hit you you wont consume any potential skill gains, once its in range to attack you again, you will get skill.

people are lazy and just letting "dry" mobs remain in the zone. what you can do to prevent this is to drag mobs a ways out of the training area once you are done with them and they will re spawn again with skill back in the zone.

No this should not matter at all. Each avatar and each mob have a set value of interaction with one another, meaning once an avatar or a mob has reached that capped interaction period then they both no longer contribute to skills for each other. If another avatar were to come along then the skill would continue because it would be another interaction period.

To test this simply gather up a group of merps and let skill on them till no more skills are possible; after which time have avatar B come and skill on the same group (that is if they don't become unreachable), you will notice that you are able to skill up on avatar B despite avatar A not being able to do so anymore.

Im afraid this is incorrect in space. Once a Pilot has sucked all the skills from a mob, if they switch to a different pilot, the new pilot will not get skills. Also if the mob switches to another ship, it no longer gives the new ships pilot skills.

We have tested this alot, hunting large groups of space mobs, once no more skillls are gleened, swapping pilots - makes no diffference. Also one mothership has passed a whole group of mobs (30+) to another mothership , and the new mothership pilot still does now get any skills.

It really seems the mobs dry up, so unless they are shot down, it might cause this issue.

This is odd that it would be different then when on a planet. Thanks for the information :)

We tried killing them, dragging and dropping them, picking up new ones, picking up multiples of them, ad nauseum - still no skills.
