Balance between Damage, Speed and Range:
mf_chips_lvl_4.jpg

D = Damage (per hit).
S = Speed (uses per minute).
R = Range (in meters).

Each gauge goes from 0 to 100.
The chips used for this diagram are Nanochip IV (L)s.

Chips vs. Nanochips
Attack Chips
This is the older type of Mindforce Attack chips. They break easily, but can be used at a slightly lower level.

Attack Nanochips
Lasts up to 10x longer than regular Chips, but requires slightly higher levels to max. Also have much better eco than regulars, and markup has a very small effect on the eco.

I hope people will find this useful, both people starting Mindforce and those wanting to explain it to their diciples :)

Thanks for taking the time to produce this. It's appreciated.

Much easier to see what's what with this and how the chips progress graphically. I can see for example where my thinking about corrosive was a bit off :) Range stays pretty low speed does decrease...

Thread should be stickied I think...

Much appreciated info! :D

Nice post NH, good work.

I'll just add that the only down side with slower chips like Combustive nano attack is it only takes a few misses per mob, to take you down from 22 hits per min to 18, sometimes even lower, which can be problematic and frustrating when hunting mobs with regain with smaller chips.

As most know I'm a big fan of Pryo due to range and power (top of the food chain for MF), but I'd like to see the chips lifted a little more with attacks per min to make them much more useful across a bigger selection of mobs with fast HP regain.

I'm waiting for the rumoured bigger chips to come into play at much higher pro levels (60+ hit), I'm happy enjoying LC-60's last 4+months.

Feel the force

Yeah, Kinetic also has similar problems... My personal favourite always was Cryogenic chips, as they have a very good balance between damage, speed and range.

Biggest problem with Cryogenic is that the highest possible DPS using them is still very low (41.7 effective DPS). However, you can still use Lacerating with the same skills/professions, which gives you the highest possible attack chip DPS at 48.4 effective.

Very nice and easy to understand, when my disciple wants to learn about mindforce will have him look at this. Probably should change just one little thing..........

Wormhole opens a wormhole with anyone on your friends list who is on the same planet

Only mention it since I have had people try to open wormholes with me several times while I'm in space or on another planet.

Added one more diagram showing the DPS and req.level development :)

Good job. :)

Stickied.

I see the Combustive chips as the rifles of MF. longer range, more power, but slower. (Granted the range isn't exactly ML-35 range, but...)

Giving this a weekend bump... If you have any suggestions how I might improve this thread, please post them :)

One issue, you don't mention that Strike chips are AoE...

If you're going to post this on the facebook, get it up to date my friends.

Great work +rep :)

Maeby you can add the regeneration field chip also?

Fascinating, as long as I have been around and been intererested in MF and I have only seen a fraction of these chips. Sadly, from what I have heard a lot of them aren't very useful. With that said, I love my Mod Resto chip and my t6 Arso ten chip combo. I usually pull with arso, top off with resto and pew pew, works great. Too bad the damage enhancer/pyrite market is so expensive, I'd love to put some damage enhancers in there, such a pitty to have 6 empty slots, everybody including MA looses.

Too bad I couldn't use my old wormhole chip to tp myself and a few others around to other planets. That's a total waste of a good chip. Pitty MA limits it to a planet and doesn't see fit to let us use a wormhole chip for, you know, wormhole stuff

Hopefully there will be a category added soon for MF amps.

Good job. :)

Thats how I hunt with them for the moment, tagging with combustive (range) or arsonistic (higher mobs) and killing with corrosive (fast attacks) and its fun also :yay:

Great post. Can you please remake the image links? You have to go into your image gallery and paste new forum links into the post, little time-consuming but would be appreciated! :)
