Part of the problem is that EU has gotten easier. TP runs were often a group effort having to defend and escort people to make it safely there often taking weeks or months before collecting them, getting to know other players along the way.
Now all you to do is get in a vehicle and solo them all in an afternoon.
Same goes for sweating, a spawn right on top of a revival does encourage players to interact other to demand healing.
EU has become more of a solo affair now rarely do we need to enter a team unless it's for an event or for one of the dungeons (can't think of a better term). Enter a team to try and loot a specific item for a soc member? or are they too busy doing the grind-a-thon missions.
And yes the loot returns or lack of variety in them can affect a players morale and lead them to an early exit or extended periods of inactivity.
Or they're afk skilling, someone asks a question on soc chat and no response because even though the person is logged in there's no one there to answer.
Interesting point of view. After some thought, I completely agree. I met more ppl during this time of exploration in groups, and still have on FL. It was an exciting time getting to know ppl, explore land areas, know where different types of mob were, especially which to avoid as a noob, and understand the game better. Now, in last year or two, most new acquaintances have been through new ppl in soc.
