This is a great weapon, but I am now using ranged weapons again to focus on reaching commando. Each time I've tiered it I have gotten a HOF, so I'm assuming it is still the highest in game.
Here are some stats from entropedia with the Trauma IV and 7 damage enhancers:
Damage: 78.00 × 170.00% + 20.00 = 152.60 HP
Effective Damage: 152.60 × 90.00 × 75.00% + 3.05 = 106.06 HP
Attacks: 42.0 × 100.0% = 42.0 /min
Damage/second: 106.06 / (60 / 42.00) = 74.24
Damage/PEC: 106.06 / 36.290 = 2.922
These are the stats with the Melee Trauma VI and 7 damage enhancers:
Damage: 78.00 × 170.00% + 28.00 = 160.60 HP
Effective Damage: 160.60 × 90.00 × 75.00% + 3.21 = 111.62 HP
Attacks: 42.0 × 100.0% = 42.0 /min
Damage/second: 111.62 / (60 / 42.00) = 78.13
Damage/PEC: 111.62 / 38.069 = 2.932
