Interesting post about a weird estate bug...

Why the hell do I do this type of thing? Simple - Mindark ain't gonna do it... We, as a community have I don't know how many wishlist threads asking for a shop directory, and it's never happened so far. The last comment we had from Mindark about it is that it's at the bottom of a very, very, very, very long list on paper of ideas to possibly implement someday down the road (i.e. never in Mindark time)

...and no one else in the community really is doing this since the predecessor threads listed above are outdated at this point in time....

At one point in time back in the ancient days when I first started this game, I actually got to be very socially active with a lot of shop owners, etc. At one point in time I had almost all of the mall shop owners on fl in at least one of the malls. It's interesting to see what they were doing with their time, what their opinions on things were, etc. It's a very different side of the game than most ever see just grinding away happily. I fondly remember quite a few discussions with Nihilist and Saru when we all hung out in the PA mall a lot. They ran their shops and I was just a 'mall rat' type that they couldn't get rid of, lol. I think at one point in time Saru said that he hadn't left the mall for over 2 years. Can you imagine being inside of one estate in game for that period of time... That's what some of the folks behind these shops do... I honestly consider these guys as one of my many 'mentors' in this game, even though my real mentor(s) are as far as the system goes is someone else (actually 2 someone elses since I had to kick George after I should have graduated the first time a very, very long time ago as he never was online when I was and thus could not 'team hunt').

I am glad Monria has started to do this type of thing, but they are only doing it for self interest since they give away freebie mother ship rides to whoever owns estates on their moon... You'd think some mall shop owners and folks behind places like Medusa head would do similar, and in ancient days, they did, but these days no one really seems to care or want to make an effort, so... the estates sort of get ignored by mostly everyone since I believe some folks just 'forget' about em or are never told of exactly how many estates are out there and what they have to offer...

Note: This Thread WILL become outdated eventually... since I don't plan to travel to each planet to check estate terminals on a daily basis... However you can help by posting updates to various terminals in replies here as you find changes from the info posted here. This is a big project and to keep it even moderately updated will require some help from the community!

(anyone got the coordinates for each of the instances on that list? I may list some of them later but am not 100% sure exactly where all of em are. Special Note:

General Monria Notes:
Stairs are a pain in the ass sometimes since you sometimes fall between the wall and the stairs so you get stuck and have to "T" to the revive terminal. (best to double click with mouse instead of using auto run on the stairs)... similar problem with 'private' estates since you get 'stuck' in the doorway if the door opens and it lets you step inside one foot only to find yourself stuck til you hit T.

Technically Monria is a 'part of' Calypso so any mission that you start on Monria, such as the daily crafting, etc. can be completed on Calypso if there is a way to complete it on Calypso.

TP fee from Monria to Calypso is 7 ped.

TP fee from Monria to Monria Space Station is zero... so you can tp from Space to Monria all day every day without it costing you a ped... makes Monria a nice little space base for those that spend a lot of time out there in space.

Similarly, there's no way to 'land' on Monria like there is the other planets... so you have to physically land or get revived in to the Space Station and then use the tp in the space station to go down to Monria proper.

General Notes on this Town/Tp:
Terminals, Auctioneer, etc. are in the Service Center down the hill from the TP. Delta 'D' Building is between the TP and the Service Center.

Regarding the Buildings here: G and H are the Apartments with the Balconies.

G apartments also have an extra room and window in that room. With the extra room you can look out the window to see the neighbor's balcony.

Balconies are 'public' areas outside of the estate, so any items put in the balcony will be able to be picked up by anyone, unless the items are shoved in to the balcony area by being pushed through the wall from inside.

Hallways are NOT currently considered to be 'inside' the apartment but at one point in time after vu 10 they were...

Grass/Weeds inhabit the floor of many buildings here - didn't used to in all of em a few years back, but now it does since Mindark just doesn't seem to give a ##$%#$ about this place so just haphazardly placed the basements anywhere on the ground plane without taking care to make sure that the weeds stayed out of the buildings. At one point in time they even had some booths inaccessible due to a 'sand trap' and had at least one booth 'upside down', hanging from the ceiling instead of having it on the floor... Many of the Booths didn't work after vu 10 for a loong time... and a turret didn't get added after vu 10 until about 2 or 3 years after vu 10 was implemented after quite a few support tickets were sent in about that matter, so mob trains in the city were routine back then.

The apartment doors do work better here than in some other places... so it's harder to get 'stuck' inside of a private, not invited residence than it is in some places like malls or elsewhere where you can go inside even though you aren't supposed to and usually end up getting 'stuck' and having to hit T. However, by the same token this place has big graphic glitches in that you'll get 'invisible wall' bug now and then and have to hit T to get it back to normal. The invisible wall bug here isn't as bad as over on Rocktropia though since you at least get floors here... over there when this bug hits the floor disappears and you get fall damage as you fall to the ground.

10th Floor:
Floor 10 has no apartments. It's just a nice big balcony to look out every side of the building. Love coming up here from time to time for the view. There's 4 balconies and a rail around the outer edge of the building so you won't fall off unless you try to. The outer edge of the balconies have glass floors so you can look down. This is the place that I think of when I hear the phrase "Build your future here." How the same folks that designed this spot designed the ugly ass wallpaper on the apartments in the same building is beyond me.

NOTE: The shops in floor Zero have no estate terminal that actually functions. A few years back it'd actually give you an error message type of thing. Nowadays it just doesn't bring up the estate terminal screen no matter how many times you click on it... I think with alpha and beta buildings Mindark focused on the booths more than on the shops, so the shops are non-functional and not player owned (yet?) How many damn decades is it going to take Mindark's estate broker to actually sell these off?

As for the upstairs places owned by the estate broker, it'll say estate broker even if a participant owns the deed so long as the avatar holding the deed never 'claims' the place. Since Mindark set it up that way, the true deed holder can 'hide' the fact that they own the deed, and no one can know for sure exactly if Mindark ever did really sell off the deeds or still has the estate broker holding them.. been several wishlist threads over the years asking them to update that system to show who really holds the deeds since current system is slightly sneaky like that, but so far Mindark's shown zero interest in updating the system... (start up your ol conspiracy theories on that one, lol)

and so... the great Calypso estate exploration journey begins... Finally TPed down to Caly from Monria. Going to take a while to check out all of the estate terminals, but it's something that will be worthwhile in the long run I do believe since Mindark's had the estate broker holding a lot more deeds than he should for a long time, and since there's no other real documentation of this type that explains how many item points are in any given estate, etc. in game, making auction bidding a bit of a pain in the ass sometimes if it's some place you haven't visited and 'know' or made screenies of yet.

Why am I starting with Omegaton - simple, it's my old stomping ground (used to own a booth, shop and several other estates upstairs in one of the buildings here a few years back)... Want to 'just get it over with' on documenting this old place since I likely won't be back here after this trip much... too many bad memories... dealing with the broken booths, broken estates, estate 'rules' constantly changing - today this hallway is 'inside' tomorrow it's 'an additional' area... etc. Not to mention the horrible return I made on selling the places I used to own to a reseller so I could cash out quickly to pay off Uncle Sam...

Omegaton is sort of the suburb that Mindark had potential to do a lot with (back in the "build your future here" era - that huge ass sign used to light up the entire landscape from a distance, lol) but as usual Mindark never did, so it fizzled and now is just sort of Entropia's version of a ghetto or slum for lack of a better word... (actually worse than a slum since some of the new planets play that role - sort of more of the back alley on a ghetto you wouldn't want to be at after dark) It is nice if you want to hunt certain mobs in nearby LAs though.

Down to the 10th floor on the first building in Omegaton... Kinda getting bored with doing this so may or may not continue with this project, we'll see. From an interior decorating stance, there's just so many eye sores to see... it kinda hurts my eyes looking at em.

Also, kinda disappointing seeing how many places were never claimed and how many are set to private or have zero items in em.

Nice effort to map out the apartments , you have some serious patience.

Glad you liked my decorating hodgepodge , plants seem to make it feel more at home.

All are welcome to come visit my humble abode Omegaton West Alpha building 11G , which is right in front of the TP. If you have a Lancer you can fly to the pad in front of the balcony and land there and enter from balcony. I never use the televator , always fly to my personal landing pad , though you will have to figure out the way I enter from there : )

I'll make the beta complex next on the list after I get done with alpha. Taking longer than usual since I am spending some time irl doing some fun family stuff, and also because in game the darn invisible wall bug keeps hitting me so I have to hit T and come back up from the service center. Seriously need a better graphics card some day.
 
started using videos for now. Not sure if I'll actually write out the stuff in a directory format like I originally started doing with this thread, copying the info off of the video, or just keep doing the videos themselves going forward... Like the video content since a picture is worth a thousand words... don't like it since it means I have to focus on the game more than I was doing previously in this project (can't watch tv, keep an eye on the kiddo, etc. while I'm focusing on the PC)

As you can probably tell from the video, I'm using general graphics quality set on Medium, which doesn't do some things justice... The cheapo Nallo Ceiling Lamps in some apartments blow out the brightness on this setting sometimes, especially if there's more than one in the room, so it makes it hard to see what's actually in the apartments. Mindark should tone down the brightness level on those things... at least for this quality setting. Guess that's what you get if you use cheap furniture, lol.

Note: some of the shops on floor zero appear to have the estate broker as deed holder but down there don't work when you try to operate em? Not sure if that means that these are the next ones Mindark plans to throw on the auction first before the others (maybe in about 30 years?)

Who knows, maybe they'll throw the shops on auction next year since that'll be 10 years since this little quote:

If anyone wants to go through those videos and list out each one by hand, go for it... sounds like a good job for the entropedia editors of the world. I probably should be taking notes as I record as to where the shopkeepers are but so far I haven't really found many shopkeepers that are fully stocked, and those that are typically are over auction on most items, but below auction now and then hit and miss.

Good luck and best wishes to the 'winner' of the auction. If I had more ped on me I'd probably bid on the 5th floor for the extra 200 slots... (if someone wins the 5th floor apartments, and eventually (or in the near future) wants to sell out, look up your neighbor down here on the 1st floor (who might be willing to item trade items (or eventually peds, etc.) for a deed eventually, or something similar...)... can't really do much with the bank, etc. on such short notice, (tempting as it is my spouse irl would kill me, lol)) :)

(would definitely be willing to possibly trade Apartment 17H in Sakura City for another deed on the U on 1st floor since I already have 2 of them... For the 5th floor, we might talk item trades or work something out if you are willing... (little shopkeeper down here isn't getting used a lot - don't really want to part with it, but for the right deed trade - like both of those spots up on 5th, it's a potential trade possibility - look around in the apts. down on 1st for some other oddball items in there that might work for certain trades like that embra c1, etc.))

Being a virtual real estate broker doesn't work on Calypso since each place has so many damn floors, but here on RT, it might be possible...

Thank you sir. Quoted you on this over in the Rocktropia entry in first page. If anyone does visit Camp Crunk quite a few of the estate terminals are nicely hidden behind a building in a row instead of sitting next to the booths like you see everywhere else in game.
