Return penalty for using crit buffs

I bought an A106 recently, cost me £130. I still don’t trust it, I still don’t think the system favours it on a long term basis. The game wants my money, regardless what I buy.

Since you keep bringing it up, you actually bought that from me. :)

If it makes you feel better, the only reason I sold it is I'm skilling BLP now rather than laser; not because it was cursed.

Subconsciously I think I mention it as in the back of my mind I’m not quite sure how beneficial it is in the brand new world of eco.

What if under the hood of the loot calculations we need to run two whole A106’s before a global, because the eco of the “new” guns effects the number of shots required to trigger globals.

Hypothetically let’s say it was free to use guns and amps (zero cost), all we paid for was ammo. Under that scenario, it might take a lot longer to trigger a big loot to equalise returns.

So with the same thinking; using an amp is great for eco, but if you need to run 3 times the ammo you want to run to make it worthwhile, then it could become your enemy with lower budgets.

Anyway all this over-thinking is no good. If you want good loot you have to be fully committed and hold the faith and “believe” (something which I’ve struggled with the last few years).

Just chatting really.

Well I spent over 100USD on a truck last night.

Too many people use the word 'invest' around here. For silly crap like 'i'm investing in my avatar' or 'i invested in a new gun (amp?)'. It's always made me nervous. It's also always made me laugh.

What is this, a casino or an investment service? Seems too often the same people trying to call it both things. Just, you know, whatever seems appropriate to the conversation so that you don't feel like you're 'spending money in a game' or 'addicted to gambling' today, right?

LOL this thread has wandered well off course.

Rick I'm not poking at you it seems like you usually have your head in a good place about how this thing works. But for anyone - If the gear you own is making you nervous, ffs you need to sell it.

I saw a comment in another thread today about 'a new level of unacceptable'. Since when does 'unacceptable' have more than 1 level?

Ahhh whatever good morning EU community how's things today :wtg:

This is the best response in 28 pages, and to all the other threads in the same vein.

When you wake up from a weekend of carousing, did it ever occur to you to say you "lost" money instead of you spent it? It's an old German joke to say you should invest in alcohol, because nowhere else do you get 40% ;). Only some people never sober up. I can't even blame them, and there is something poetic even in collapse. Sometimes you just wanna tune out and log out of responsibility.

"You are in control how much you wish to invest in your virtual life."

"You can deposit real funds to acquire land or equipment to develop your avatar. You may want to start a business, set up a shop, trade resources and test your entrepreneurial spirit by investing in equipment, knowledge and skills to compete with others. Many planets are also rich in minerals and ore, both of which can be a lucrative source of income."

MA sets TT prices on items players set the markup of items, its not MA´s fault that some fools buy items for X amount of peds.

Blame the players not MA.

Lets hope for cheap gear and loooots of peds to hunt with, seems more like a winning game in the long term.

No, they created a condition that caused the markup of said items (increased tt return), which they were well aware of, then suddenly changed the conditions which they knew would severely negatively affect the markup of those items, with zero compensation. In other words, any item in this game with a large tt+ value is a big gamble as MA can change the rules drastically with no warning.

Fun fact...saving for retirement = investing.

Well, does the truck function as you need/expect it to? I would assume you don't just throw money at a truck then walk away so... yes, you invested it.

Nah unless something surprising happens it will probably still be on my account when the game ends and MA deletes it.

Maybe someday I'll get sellout madness but so far 7years no withdrawal.

I thought you meant real life, was thinking man that's a GREAT deal....

So you got the truck, you saw a value in it, no matter what it is. Frankly, everything you do is an investment, with the exception of maybe gambling. Basically what MA has show, time and time again, is that "investing" in "equipment" and our avatars is basically not an investment but a dice roll of when they're going to nerf our investments into oblivion.

nah it's that CDF pitbull

The value of the truck isn't about what I can sell it for though. It's about what I can do with it, sort of. One of the greater parts of the value I find in the truck is that it should persist in some form as long as EU does.

It's a toy, and I spent my money to have it. Not to worry about how much I can sell it for from the moment I bought it. I have some investments and I worry about their market value sometimes too much.

I'm just saying that a troop carrier in EU is not really something that I consider "part of my portfolio". It cost less than my phone, which I'll probably be throwing away after I'm done with it. So I'm not saying that it was insignificant for me but I am saying it cost less than taking my kids out to dinner and a movie and if I ever do, in fact, want to sell it it will be great if it's worth anything at all. The dinner I had or the movie I watched sure won't be.

These things will have a value, but it sure won't be PED or USD.

Also, in my personal situation, it's super unlikely that I will be selling it to return any money to this side of the RCE. It will be for something different that has grown more important to me in EU. I mean, anything could happen.

They could just turn it off. Damn I'd hate to lose my new truck.

Well this is true but gear will always be obsoleted, nerfed, or surpassed in every video game ever. We're back to where this is what you need to consider a financial investment with returns and growth potential to have a few hours fun at the end of the week?

Did somebody seriously just say something about retirement planning on a MMO forum?

Shit I literally, actually just came here to get away from this.

peace out I'm done for the night

some really good discutions

but my point is while we are all talking about less and less tt return and the eff of weapons and there affect on loot ive noticed a significant drop of looted items on auction availible for some time now ie less MU loot availible is this because MA is shifting people to the armatrix style weapons or what ? as a mid level player ive never been graced with an uber drop of item or an ath of any kind , I rely on normal item drops to keep my game play sine loot 2.0 ive looted roughly 20 weapons and armor parts which basicly are tt food unless they have a decent teir rate then which will sell for more the tt MU just ,,, where are all the items going ? bangfaps two pecs worth

The ArMatrix series is honestly the best thing that has happened to hunters in about a decade. It creates a stable market for many of the oils and other loot products previously bound for the TT, and provides a stable base of high efficiency weapons for a good price. The use of extenders further improves their useful ability.
If you are having trouble breaking even I suggest you try hunting on another planet. There is plenty of markup in loot to be had.
