Yesterday I was watching messi on https://m.twitch.tv/videos/472266914
twitch and he was using the unique sacraficial dagger
http://www.entropiawiki.com/Info.aspx?chart=Weapon&id=2725
And seemed to be taking about 34 hits to kill the creature at a cost of 15.793 PEC (from wiki) so 34x15.793 PEC = 5.36962 PED

I was watching his loot and very often he was looting 5.37 PED of shrapnel.

The DPP on that weapon is 3.809 PEC (from wiki)

So it got me thinking what DPP is required to break even?

Obviously you need the skills to use whatever weapon, and looter level to get the full benefit of the weapon (which messi obviously has)

Anyone watched messi (or others) on twitch? and noticed anything similar?

DPP is irrelevant to looted TT.

Nah, u need to be the "chosen" avatar for that

Some are more equal than others

You can't break even on TT in Loot 2.0 because the loot size depends on the cost. Better DPP decreases tt size of the loot but increases the composition quality.

Efficiency of maxed weapon and your looter level is all that matter when it comes to tt return.

dpp should be irrelevant for tt return and also the armor decay impact on tt return has been greatly reduced, if you trust MA statements

efficiency and the looter levels (next to being maxed) are the only things that should influence your tt returns again according to MA statements

now, hunting with the other unique melee (Unique Reaper's Blade) + ancient imk2 + arso chip IV fen and animal looter 85, my tt returns have still been mostly in the 93-96% range. Surely my looter levels and skill levels on blade are nothing compared to messi''s skills, also the knife is more efficient - but it might be closer to realistically achievable baseline

have to note that initially after getting the unique blade I did see great tt return (mostly from bigger hofs each month) for 4 whole months, then it went back to "normal"

Well getting very close to tt input on many looting instances doesn't mean you are going to break even. You also need to look at how many below and above he is getting. For instance, if he gets one 5.2ped loot with the same number of attacks to kill (so same cost to kill), then it will take another 15-20 kills (at that above tt input) to make up that difference. Of course, he could just global after a while and make up the difference that way....but only chosen avatars global right?

In saying that, armor decay & healing decay needs to also be taken into account, sure he has good evade but he still needs to heal so he is still taking decay on his armor from the hits. That could put his costs above the 5.37ped return he was getting.

DPP also doesn't affect TT return, it only contributes to what you get in your loot (not how much loot).

Even if DPP would do that, you'd need to know the impact of his buffs.

Imo DPP doesn't even excist within the system.... :silly2: ;)

That has nothing to do with it ... Some hunt/mine/craft with their brains and skills.

This..

There are plenty of people who break even or profit with tt more on average than others because they have the gear, skills, patience, experience and knowledge to do so. Or just get lucky.

Look for good hit rates, average loot and other indicators. Cut your loses early and allow big winners.

The expected 90%~ average return is for mindless grinders. It is an average and not set in stone.
