My best friend and mentor died this week. I met him in Entorapia about 10 years ago. We chatted often when he was taking care of his ailing wife.

I met him at Twin Peaks while buying and reselling Sweat. He told me stories about how he wrote stories about the Entropia Universe and the game with his permission published them and made it game lore.

He also would tell me fantastic stories about servicing the in War. And what surviving the Spanish Flu was like. How as much as things changed over the years. Many things also stayed exactly the same.

At 94 years old he was still sharp as a tack. And still actively traveling around the country to different casinos. He was hoping to travel to Canada one day.

I heard he had a great singing voice. Although after all these years I never actually heard him speak. We only used text chat.

I'll never forget the many late-night team hunts. "Beamer" ( his Entropia Nickname) would do the shooting and I would heal. He was so nice he split the loot with me even though I only healed. And that really helped me get a foothold in the game. How many players do ya meet nice enough to do that ?

It's hard to believe he is gone now. He was still so full of life and had more he wanted to do. I just checked last night to see if he was back in the game yet. I knew he was having some recent health issues.

I'll try not to get to down and depressed about this. But it's going to take time. Next time I need advice it's going to be difficult not to have his wisdom to lean on.

Every time over the years when I was going threw rough patches Beamer was there. Offering great advice. The world just won't be the same anymore.

Praying for his family during this difficult time...

Maybe when your playing today you can have a moment of silence. And after send out a RIP to Beamer ( Frank O Diegidio) in the game chat.

Oh dear. I was wondering how he was.

I talked to him many times in the past, as Leland, Beamer and myself are in the same soc.

R.I.P. old friend.

Sad to hear.

What a great person he was as you have described him.

And at 94 still enjoying the game. A game for all ages.

Long live Entropia the game we love and hate:)

Condolences to Beamer's family and sorry for your and their loss. I never knew him personally but was also known to me and my friends in game as one of the last really nice guys in the game.

Thanks everyone ! Hey Meric thanks !

I am sure Beamer would appriciate the kind words as well.

Ya he played the game everyday for a few hours for at least a decade. His wife had bad memory loss and needed full time care. So he would play the game on his breaks. He was really into flying in Space and giving people rides around that needed it. I think some pirates knew him very well. :D He liked to try and practice evading them.
He said it would bring back memories of some wild plane rides during the war.

I think Entropia does help keep ya sharp.

He also sweated with noobs for the added skills and chat.

I sent a support msg to ask if they could do a tribute somehow for him. But they said the most they can do is give his remaining funds in his account back to his family if they contact him. So I figure i'll write them in a few weeks. After everything has time to set in.

We as a community could have a big meet up in his honor somewhere. We could take pics and videos of the event so you can share them with whoever you want (and for yourself, of course).

We don't need MA for that :)

He sounds like an incredibly interesting dude, a life well lived. Sorry to hear of his passing, and for the loss of your friend. Will pour one out for Beamer!

I met him once and we talked for two hours (we both have interesting history).

I guarantee he will NOT "RIP" - that would be too boring for him.

He's just off playing a new game now.

I can truly say - he was worthy.

Sorry to hear that sad news.

Rick
