Mayhem pet buffs

Reports of botters on a daily basis with no reprecussions

repairable (L) mining amps

expensive lag with no reimbursement

shoddy programming, delayed releases, borderline QA prior to releases, skipping decimals on item stats

When does this shit end? I'm not saying MA's job isn't difficult, but let's be honest, everything you do in this game costs real money and when MA's piss-poor work product costs the majority of players a substantial amount of money, or gives advantages to a few players at the expense of the many, at what point is MA going to come out and say "hey guys we really fucked this up in the past and we need to make it right so we banned X players as we've done in the past and we're making ammends to the rest of players with Y (skill bonus month, boosted loot week, etc....)

the recent relevations didn't impact me as a player whatsoever since i haven't competed in mayhem before, but with this going on, why the fuck would i?

Good post rocket. I must completely agree here, i have stayed away from competing in mayhems due to the amount of bullshit exploits that come to light every single mayhem and refuse to spend money on such events until mindark bring down the pain train on the individuals abusing the system and clean the mess up.

I hope they keep up the decent work they have made this year, it was starting to feel like
They had actualy started to care about the current state of the game and were making progress at getting it back on track again. Its 2020 already its time to clean this shit up. we cant have crap like this keep happening this game wont take it forever and im amazed were all still putting up with it.

Valid points!

These come to mind too..
The augmented gun with wrong stats. 3.4 ped/shot
The mayhem ring 2020 with wrong stats. 30% crit hit chance
Yog pets with increased reload on EVERYTHING instead of reload on mining tools
That rocktropian (L) gun with highest eco ever, (only dropped once) woops
The other mayhem rings with wrong stats
Ark pet with wrong buffs
Pill stacking
Countless communication managers....

They need to quadruple check new items they release, there is no excuse for the amount of fuckups recently. Sure we finaly had some QoL updates (FINALY!!) but the amount of mistakes seems higher than usual.

It will end when MA start to ban mayhem exploiters. Then ban hunting/mining bots. It got a bit to sad with the bots...

it ends when you stop giving money to a clown dev team . people expect and get more professionalism on free to play games

yes i know entropia is  free  to play

It will end when Mindark stops making income... because people stop depositing all together... but that will never happen because so many of us are addicted... so... uh...

Dunno if ever. The universe itself might be too big in scope in all its details for a company the size of MA to be able to handle, and then you run into a vicious circle of logistics-costs-cost to the player.

That when is not simply about them not giving a flying sh*t.

I agree too, this has to change. The question is why does it happen?

There must be some kind of concept to follow, are routines to follow this bad?

Are there tools that are hard to use that easily creates mistakes?

Is it due to one, or several employees, that don't follow what is said
in concept and therefor creates all these issues and problems?`
Is it due to bad attitude and sloppy work ethics or is it due to
being absent-minded? (Have both of these kind of people at work
and that creates a lot of issues).

MA you lose money due to this, but also the way people look at you as
company.
Employees also spend a lot of time on unnecessary corrections of mistakes
that should have been spent on next feature instead. There have been way
too many of these mistakes imo, so maybe put some effort to once and for
all solve and improve here? No need to fire people if it now should be due
to some individuals that creates these problems, if they can shape up.
If it isn't due to employees then maybe time to create a better way to handle
routines around concept to implementations of features?

Whatever the reason is I hope you find a way to solve this, so we can get
a bit faster development on new features and improvements on old ones. ;)

let's face it, mindark simply isn't able to do it any better, otherwise they would. i'm pretty sure about that!

they aren't? hasn't it been much better years ago?

generally speaking, entropia is a pretty expensive low-quality game..

The Dev team has gone through a number of different members and restructuring over the years.

That and the additional noodles of coding that are constantly being added to the spaghetti over the years.

Things get broken unintentionally every time they touch the code it seems.

Granted, the system is very complex and dynamic. But something as simple as decimal places and pet buffs working as intended, should be an easy catch.

there was bug this year, when dmg enha was adding dmg to amp too. many ppl lost money cose of overdmg

Not sure if you're joking or not. From the majority of points of view, Entropia is in its best shape ever, including devs, communication, whatever you could think of.

The exceptions would/could be

1) volume of players and total turnover might have been higher +-2007-2010 (here i simply don't know, is just me eyeballing perceived activity)
2) the feeling, a certain bond between all players, which gradually disappeared (this might be 100% my subjective feeling)

Particularly from the points of view of transparency and, respectively, bugs/QA, PE used to be dramatically bad. Atrocious, I might say. What example could I give, that we didn't had an official forum for years? And that's so basic that I don't know what else compares.

Entropia, and its QA department definitely need some sharpening. The game still has unfinished areas, unfulfilled promises, and mechanics being abused.

That being said, we have some of the best people at the helm running this thing than we've had in a long time. Just look at the last couple of years. Sure, a lot remains unfixed, a lot of problems left unaddressed, but they're trying. They're re-investing into the game.

Recent patches have been targeted at correcting problems, bug fixes, stability patches, and improvements to the UI and and camera. We most recently got a rework to the tiering system. I realize nothing is majorly game changing, but we've been asking them for fixes like that for years. Give these guys credit, they deserve it. All the little boring stuff we've been asking them to fix, hey guess what, they're starting to fix it. It isn't flashy, but it's necessary.

At least this team isn't creating new crypto currencies or launching new mobile games. I don't see new castles acquired on their books.

They're focusing on Entropia now. Fixing things takes time. I say continue to be patient. These guys listen to the feedback, they seem to care more than who we had in the past.

In my opinion things are better now than they were 3-5 years ago, and it seems like this team wants to continue to improve them. EU was a cash cow milked by previous teams, this new team inherited a lot of problems to fix.

Things aren't perfect, far from it. But I see progress.

Yeah i have faith, but they need to do right by the players when they make mistakes... whether that be hard-bans on cheaters, compensation for lags and bugs, redistribution of prizes and items acquired through exploits, etc....

MA's punishments are not equitable and fair so where's teh incentive to stop exploiting? if players knew they'd face hard bans they'd stop cheating.

I would also like to see justice play out. Hopefully we'll see some of that with this most recent Yog scandal. Don't think MA isn't out there right now reading these forums and discussing the issues brought to light. They are.

Hopefully they investigate into past Mayhems and punish those who abused the system.

It may take a few days to look into it. Or, they could say something today, who knows. But I think they're listening and watching.

My hope is that this game gets some kind of anti-cheat software put in it. Maybe in 2020 that happens. I know the community would applaud MA if they decided to invest in it. It would certainly help create a renewed interest in PVP.

can't give them credits...
the summary so far:
hunting got a lot better
mining/crafting/game performance got a lot worse

so overall i stick to the game has gotten worse.

mining was like print ped for nearly 10 years... they had to nerf it a little bit

When does this shit end?
Most what you posted, MA has fixed and punished. Entropia's often compared to casinos so we'll stay w/ that analogy.
Casinos are always fighting against cheaters. Sometimes the cheaters win, though only temporarily, because they always keep doing it over and over until they get caught. They have to keep up the fight because there will always have people trying to "game" the system.

Now as for the poor coding, yeah, they need help improving that, no argument there. Some standardization and ability to focus on tasks instead of A.D.D. projects will help a lot, I think.

Don't confuse the "potential to pay" with "having to pay". My depos currently average $13.85/month over the past 5 years. I'm perfectly ok w/ that budget for how many hours I get here. (And TBH, it would be less than 1/2 that had I not had to buy ESI to pull skills from my wife's ava)

So, just like basketball (or anything else), you can pay for a cheap ball and go play at the local free hoop, or...
You can invest in quality gear, shoes, training, education and go compete w/ pros.

Your call, not MAs.

mine is still $-9.16/month over the past 5 years, but that's mainly due to the time prior to 2.0.
Since 2.0 it's $2.92/month and that only because i stoped depoing and shut down almost all crafting, otherwise it would have been a lot more.

Yup mine would have been higher too. The thing with me is I have been asking for a higher quality game forever. They can't improve because they don't intend to improve. This will be a great case example. We could straight out tell them what to do and they won't get it. Because different wavelength. Vote with your feet. I'm tired of asking.

Then why complain about this being expensive? You made it sound like it was costing you way more than other similar gaming costs. :dunno: Oh well, guess I just misunderstood you. Sorry if that's the case.

pls read the rest of the post, i stoped most of the crafts i used to do and even took a break of a year, that's the only reason why it's $2.92/month since 2.0... if i had continued to craft the amount i used to do prior to 2.0 it would have been $250-500/month.... Before my break i even had plenty of runs where $20 were gone in an hour or two, and i didn't even do the big stuff... had that shit happen often after my break too...

The globals & hofs are just missing on crafting.

Mining seems to have gotten somewhat better compared to before my 1 year break.

wow, just wow. all the complaining you do. and your at 15$ a month..... to your own account you've cycled 100's of k's of peds on crafting, all on 15 DOLLARS A MONTH! why are you always bitching that the game is ripping you off?

please give it a rest my friend.

Edit:
300th post, and woot first neg rep from guess who :)

Wow, I thought I was a small time depositor....Since I came back in mid April, ignoring my 5 moon deeds purchase, I'm at $65.60 a month.... I will likely depo less going forward as my RL returns to normal and I have less time to play the game, but getting it down to $13.85 a month would be a challenge and $2.92 a month seems unattainable unless I stopped hunting and mining and just tossed a few nutrio bars to my pet each month....

The nerf came when EP4 came. Else TT return been same. Multis, towers etc are a rare thing compared to before
