So sad it is, it already has happened that I have feared for some time already.

[br]Click to enlarge[/br]

as you can see from the picture which is from the auction, someone has bid 10 ped for weapon which you can get for 3.8 peds from the trade terminal.

not sure then if the bidder wants to provoke someone to bid more, but my suggestion for all newcomers is that get known to market prices before you do any bidding at the auction. If you are not sure about the items price, don't bid, ask around.

And I can't understand ppl that do sell tt weapons for the auction.

Just a warning :wise:

Cheers!

There's a lot of that happening Anthalas.

I know a married couple who just started playing this game who bought TT stuff from the auction and didn't know that they could have got it in the TT for half the price.

The biggest problem is MA's unwillingness to place those "new to PE" terminals in the other spawn points. Now people are starting the game in Fort Argus and are basically dumped there by MA, they have no clue what to do, no help from an AI "assistant" and are duped by the resellers to buy crap.

I know...it happened to me. First 10 minutes in the game and someone offered to sell me armor, i bought it...it was pixie female armor, i was male.

I put the blame for this soley on MA's lap. They know that people are spawning all over the place, at least if you spawn in Atlantis you have half a chance with the help and info from those terminals, spawn in Argus and you WILL get scammed.

I wish I could play agian, my update doesn't work it always stops on ijl15.dlltmp, any suggestions on how to fix it? :)

Something deifnetly needs to be done.
Its such a cowardly act to scam newcomers.
Some kind of popup with some basic information on where to buy starting equipment and so forth at the very beginning might be a good idea

Great initiative with the warning tho Anthalas

Sadly though, unless there's someone to moderate such auctions, unfortunately people will earn profit through such endevours. It's a shame that you can't have a system to put a mark (good or bad) against a vendors name once transaction has occured much like in ebay. So people could see a traders reputation and take note of any messages left from previous buyers/sellers. *Remind you of anything similar, auction based? ;) *

i think lots of these auctions dont get any bids, and people who do this mostly lose from it but oh well
(same as putting bp books or bp's from technician in auction lol)

being a newbie myself (5 weeks into the game) I know firsthand just how frustrating the lack of knowledge of how to play - buy etc etc ( I am still learning).

Maybe if some peeps pose as newbies (unless the scammer has a scanner of course) to weed out these losers and to name and shame them.

lol... people have been doing that for a loooooooong time in PE.

You see OJ suits at 1million PED in auction etc.. a bargain imo! I spawned in Fort Ithaca about a year ago and have never been scammed... use your common sense people.. dont trust anyone until you have gotten a feel for the game.. wont be long until you can sniff a scammer at 100 paces ;)

That is very good suggestion and might not need so much coding to implant it ingame, or does it?

I thought that too that this have been for a long time but new players might not know about this, and I thought to inform about this through EF to prevent atleast somehow scammers' to succeed

It might be a good idea to show the course of an item in auction. That will be looted, refined, mined, crafted and TradeTerminal. I think that when people pay attention to this information they will realise if it's a scam. :) :umn: :)

MA should add more info to the items description.
similar to the (L) there should be a (TT) when items is available at TT/weapon trader/tailorer/armorer/technician.
cafted items are already marked, so the rest is lootable.
this way everything should be clear and avoid newbies to get scammed.

Items bought in the TT should not be able to be placed in auction. That's the simple fix for it.

That is probably the only solution needed.

I second that.

I saw again three opalas being for sale at the auction and from same seller.

It would be a good thing to add to newbie guides that don't use auction if not familiar with it. It's good place to kill your time and observing the market prices.

I have done that many times
