Hi all.

The real article name should be "Profstanding based loot increase calculaton on UL weapons"
(would be nice if an admin could change it)

Been a while since my last non-sales related post. Back in Entropia since November 2010, after a long pause - almost 3 years.
Collecting some statistics and being quite active in hunting for the last 3 months (top 20 in entropia tracker), can share my thoughts/calculations on [subj.] Feedback more than welcome!
Currently a hit7.4/dmg7.8 laser sniper (lower than used to be before leaving), and again I fell for imk2 because of the magic dmg/pec number of it. My current dmg/pec with A105 is 3.043, according to EntroPedia.
My statistics show that the average return without globals is around 500 peds (including markup), considering I do around 1000 ped runs (800 in bullets, 3x A105 + scopes/laser).
I believe the only real number that can be used for calculation of [subj] is that return rate (average return with markup without globals). As I assume the dmg/pec should not influence the number of globals received and the size of those, not too much at least.
So, if doing 4 runs / day on average, this means savings on becoming 10/10 would be calculated as follows:
1. dmg/pec on 10/10, imk2 + A105 = 3.266
2. 500*(3.266/3.043)=536.64 per run, so gain 36.64*4=146.56 per day ~ 4400 peds per month.
Sounds quite good considering quite a lot of weapons don't have that potential of growth, and some are less economic even when maxed out?
On the other hand, looks like my losses in February will be around 15k with the current rate (-7k in 12 days). It was "way better" in January when the losses were only 7k and the skills were also lower. Some bad luck or January was happy times?

Will post again in some months with some more statistics.

Why involving markup in your math?

Call me thick, but imk2 and SIB makes me go "Does Not Compute!".

You can't calculate return without your multipliers (globals etc). Without them, you'd be stuck in the dreaded 20%-50% return swamps. The non-multiplier returns are so bad that you have to get multipliers to even it out, up to the (theorized) maximum of 90%.

Lol, I'm always confused with the short-names :) I guess that applies for limited weapons - Skill Increase Bonus or so. What I wanted to talk about was UL weapons.

I am not calculating the return. Just the potential of growth of income by increasing the hit/damage prof-standing. I have not seen a return less than 500 peds on 1000 ped run. My theory and the discussion point I wanted to raise is that hit/damage prof-standing increase won't influence my globals (not by a large factor anyway), just increase the non-global base by killing around 7% more mobs in my case using same amount of peds.

Btw, in relation, got a really nice quote from MA support that confirms at least that there is a return % fixed - although they did not state what it is obviously.
"We can only reveal that we have not implemented any changes that could affect the return rate which is calculated as a percentage."

This does not imply that there is actually such a percentage ... as implemented via whichever means. If you had asked "have you changed the return rate which is calculated as the arctan of the lattice structure of hunting locations" you would probably have received a similar reply.

PS. If you wouldn't need to ask "why/what is arctan of the lattice structure", then please leave that part alone. ;)

If you don't count globals your numbers will be fucked and the point if tracking will be lost:D
