Disclaimer : This idea of mine could have been poster ages before. I normally don't think about (lootable) PvP, because I can't aim.

Some idea popped in my head to make Lootable PvP safer for those that carry stackables and yet keep the risk. It goes like this :

A new Skill and Proffession : PvP Looter is introduced. The higher your level, the more you can loot. A Level 1 PvP Looter can loot 0 to 20% of stackables. A Level 120* can loot 80 to 100%.
( The Uber Level is a rough guess. It should not be that every fifth player is at 100%, neither that the best PvP Looter is only halfway).

What I mean with percentage of stackables is just as it is. You don't loot all stackables. You loot a percentage of each stack depending on your level. More skilled means you loot better percentage of the stacks. The most Uber of PvP Looters will not get 100% all the time. From each stack he gets 80 to 100%, depending on luck of the killed and killer what stack is looted 100% and what not.

For Example this is what you carry, 200 of each stack
Iron Ingot; Melchi Crystal; Belkar Ingot; Lysterium Ingot; Narcasium Ingot; Caldorite Ingot

You get looted by a medium PvP Looter (50-70%) and this is what gets looted.
[ The percentages are random generated numbers by Excel. ]
Iron............52,11%......105
Melchi.........55,58%......112
Belkar..........69,07%......139
Lysterium.....64,28%......129
Narcasium....59,27%......119
Caldorite......50,38%......101

Your friend carries the same stacks, but he is unlucky and gets looted by the top PvP Looter (80-100%). He looses this.
Iron............92,94%......186
Melchi.........88,57%......178
Belkar..........86,12%......173
Lysterium.....86,37%......173
Narcasium....88,60%......178
Caldorite......87,73%......176

How many you loot gets rounded up above. 92,94% of the Iron Ingots is 185,88 Iron and thus becomes 186 Ingots looted. This to prefend people from creating stacks of 1 that can't be looted.

If done like this, I think Planeraty trade will increase. You don't risk all your stacks, you risk part of it. Depending on which Pirate kills you. Sure enough, losing 186 out of your 200 Iron is a lot. But I think because you (almost) always keep part of your stacks it's worth the risk more. With more traffic between Planets, more stacks out there to loot for the PvP'ers. It's not all about who has the biggest wallet, it's also a bit about who is the most skilled.

:yup::launcher::yup:

It's an interesting idea thats for sure. But if you wanted more trade between planets just make it non pvp imo. Not that I mind the pvp aspect of space mind you. Otherway nice approach to providing "a" solution to this.

Another idea I have, in line with the first, are locks.

It goes like this. You have a Storage Container in your Inventory and on it you place a Safety Lock. Now the change of a looter taking your stuff is reduced. A better lock means less change of the lock being broken. Locks are limited items with only one use. Once a Safety Lock is placed on a Storage Container, you can't do anything with it. In other words you can't put Locked Containers in Locked Containers in Locked Containers in .... so as not to reduce the loot change all the way to zero. When you open the Container, the Satery Lock is broken. Same when you get looted. One use only.

Say there are ten Safety Locks available. These could have the following Loot-Reduction and values.

I.........0,5%..........5 PED
II........1,0%.........30 PED
III.......2,0%.........60 PED
IV.......7,0%.........95 PED
V........9,5%........120 PED
VI......10,0%........150 PED
VII.....13,5%........190 PED
VIII....18,5%........225 PED
IX......19,5%........260 PED
X.......20,0%........300 PED

I think that Space should remain lootable, but with less risk to lose it all. The minimum should remain at 0 to 20% or 10 to 20% no matter what Lock you have and by whom you get looted. There should always be risk involved in transporting stackables through Space. But not like with this win-it-all/ lose-it-all system.
The Uber PvP Looter can have his loot change above 100%, like 110 to 130%. So that even with the best Safety Lock you will lose most. Thus for any kill he gets 80 to 100% or even 90 to 100% Notorious not only for his PvP skills, but also for his looting skills.

With a reduction of the risks like this I think there will be more Space traffic. Make the Safety Locks craftable with recourses unique to two or more Planets and we get to see some interesting commerce.
Good containers can also have their own PvP Loot reduction. Like the McCormick safe that really looks like something that a looter can't open easily.

:cool::scratch2::cool:

I like both ideas! the pvp-loot skill and the locks too

where do the locks come from? can locks be looted?
or maybe if you get looted in pvp it might be your lucky day to receive a lock to make up for your loss

haha, I like that idea, it could even be acoordingly to the looters skills or to the amount you loose
1-5ped - lock I
5-10ped - lock II
10-20ped lock III
20-40ped lock IIII
etc

First I thought about Safety Locks being crafted (with higher locks using materials from different Planets). Now I see a couple of possibilities :
1. Crafted
2. Lootable from players
.......a) compensation for the looted
.......b) lootpool for the looter
3. Looted from Space Horrors

By the way : why so little respond? I would think that if it's a bad/ stupid idea everyone would come and tell me how ridiculous this is and how it would ruin the PvP experience. None is hailing it a great solution either. So what is it? Speak up your mind people and let me know what you think please.

:laugh::confused::laugh:

Invest 30k ped in armor and unlimited pk guns,
loot every day max 100 ped in pvp because to meet avatar with loot in pvp is cristmas, not talking about killing it because he obviously will escape with his uber super mk1 sleipnir.

thet drop on ground 80 ped leaving 20 % to yourself , and see how much time you will live in pvp buying Me, bullets, and bbc amps from your ped card :).

Pvp was alot better without vechiles and you could find a PEOPLE in htere, not only npc with no loot. No unique today in pvp . noone goes there. Rextelum npc now drops mulmun loot. Maulak'f spawns in the middle island. Thons of pyrite is found in RT where noone is guarding it and (low skilled players) with quards is mining it.

What Ma will do more to kill pvp in this game ?

by extending Kestukas mind is totally pvp death these days ... of 400 meters is very difficult to achieve the target. recaling vehicle without time limit completely destroys the pvp zone. Helicopter "Gravity" is a complete misunderstanding, which is used by many people and their not going to catch. and a host of all the known problems ...

200 meters of the radar return, recaling vehicle with 30 or more seconds delay, a helicopter gravity mulmuns mission? new mobs E side? because there is now an empty area and etc..

PVP is a part of the game where people Spending a lot of money, but for now she just demolished.

lol, Mr. "Hey Stop! Lets talk" Kestukas and Mr. "Lets fight Im a 4 months old noob" Nasvajus are complaining

You really care about yourselves, dont you? Mulmun missions, omg, what an briliant idea ... f*ck the crashed markup, lets crash it even more, just give me someone to shoot... omg...

Continuing with your ideas - MA can make himi mission or pyrite mission. Who cares about markup anyway, right? Nasvajus and Kesuktas need to have someone to shoot.
Briliant thinking boys !
lol

M8, i pay money, deposit and play this game only for pvp , is that bad ?

Yes, i have noone to shoot, noone fights me, and all others is just running away with pitbuls and helicopters that cannot reach.

There was alot ppl in pvp zones earlyer, but now they understood that pvp is not unique any more.
So there is no reason to go to pvp for others.

We live in pvp desert now. Because all ppl was crying liek you to support.

What do you mean by "crying liek you to support" ?

What the hell are you talking about? Are you retarded or what?

I was all the time one of the few miners who stod behind PKers and who was telling that these kind of changes are killing pvp (even if they were in miners favor). You are completely out of the line with "crying to support" here.

I just think that killing what remained from good pvp mu (with mission on mulmuns, mulaaks etc ) just because you want to shoot someone is clearly stupid idea. It should be the last nail to the coffin of pvp.

I too find recalling a vehicle in seconds stupid. When I had this idea in mind I was thinking about Space travel formost. In my opinion vehicles should only be spawnable from cities (and not all). Taking an Isis LR32 out of your left pocket I can live with. Taking a four ton vehicle out of your right not so.

I think missions in lootable PvP are good too. Far from everyone will go in lootable PvP just to do the mission. So it won't crash the markup by far. Letting unique resources also be found outside lootable PvP is far worse.

As PvP stands today you won't find me there. Nothing for me to find there. And the risk of everything being taken from me is far too great for me.
Add to that the stupid trolling and bickering too.

:):dunno::)

Not a good idea; not fair because if you get killed by a lower level person, that's your fault...
