Are there plans for stamina attribute gains without missions?

Are there any plans to unlock the Stamina Attribute so that it may be gained through (heavy melee) combat (or other participant activities) and not solely by completing certain missions?

If this were to ever happen it would goto weapons that require ammo since melee already has Strength and Agility while weapons that require ammo only have Agility as their attribute increasing skill..

I doubt this would ever happen though, since Stamina was a measure of how many missions an avatar has completed...its an achievement that one could "boast" about and could not chip in to 600k skills overnight :)

They should first return the newer folks stamina from 1 to 9. Annoyed I missed the 9 stamina when I joined, many years ago lol, and ended up with a measly little 1.

In my opinion, it would be great if it went to any of the activities we can do. I suggested Heavy Melee since it seems like it would take lots of Stamina (in addition to Strength) to keep swinging a heavy club/mace. Perhaps even heavy projectile weapons, like cannons, could contribute to stamina gains. I suppose that everything we do requires stamina, even sitting through long meetings at work.

I wholeheartedly agree.

Yep. It's only fair.

Technically, imo, stamina should be a defensively gained attribute.

Fair that to those who didn't support the game when it was taking its first steps

In case you didn't notice many of us that joined earlier already lost several potential stamina points the same way since some of you joined later.

For example
By not supporting Rocktropia and Next Island launch
(Yes that piss me too but if you want treats you got to give something back too).

I would say there are many players with 1 stamina who play and support the game way more than many of you so called game savers :).

You're probably right there.

Then again who knows, the new better supporters might not have anything left to support without the old crappy supporters... :scratch2:

I think Stamina needs to be a variable attribute, based on how much your avatar runs.

Running keeps you fit in real life, so why not in game?

If you drive or fly out to a hunt zone then your Stamina stays the same or suffers. If you run there Stamina increases. I'm not suggesting it should increase by silly amounts just for running to one hunt, but for instance, if you regularly send your avatar on a 5km or 10km run then his/her stamina should increase.

In real life, if you don't train for approximately 72 hrs you lose the benefit of your previous session, so give avatars an incentive to train - maybe an increase of stamina by several points would be enough to outrun certain mobs that you wouldn't otherwise be able to. And if lag issues can be eliminated (big ask, I know) then this opens the door to potential Olympic-style running contests, giving the game yet another aspect or means to entertain.

Sounds like you're talking about Agility :)

Um... No, because Agility doesn't move up and down. Nor does it increase because you've run somewhere.

never said "better" and never said "crappy" :) A game is a game, people come and go at different times, this is the only game i have ever played that the decisions made by the main company fuck over its customers in such a large way and cause some to gain and some to lose.

I'm pretty sure the people that found the game earliest had a decent advantage already if they had played as hard as they supposedly did to support the game but at the end of the day MA cause all these differences due to their inability to look forward and plan things properly but rather they implement things badly and then change it causing players to argue with players when the players should be arguing with MA, alas MA dont give a shit about players as tamers cant well atest to.

And MA will be the people who leave nothing for the later players to support the way they perform.

I wholeheartedly agree.

And MA should also return the big attribute nerf back in 2005-2006.:), because before the year 2005 it was no problem to get 100 in agility in 1 year. ( without any missions).

Some people, myself included had not heard of Entropia.
Had I learned of it sooner, i'd still be here, I learned to late, and still here.
I've supported a lot in my time this game, a hell of a lot in deposits into it, I think, rather more than probably 75% of those who got the initial 9 stamina points.
Yet, I still only have the free initial single stamina point.

Yes, everyone who joined after such and such a date, should have their stamina reimbursed, as a good will gesture.

I agree, as long as you're happy to pay for the PEDs lost by people who had to use unmaxed old-school weapons before L weapons existed, and to compensate for the old difficult skilling curve up to 5k points.

If you ever got 600k I'd personally fly to Canada to shake your hand! That is an achievement in itself.. :D

I hope not, personally. I think it would be nice to keep something that can only be increased through exceptional effort. I hope that other types of missions that can increase it come about, and that's more likely with the new fractional attribute credit system being implemented. I also hope Stamina takes on a greater purpose, too. And btw, there's even some consideration to you young whippersnappers in that proposal. Not because i think it's unfair, but because it makes it easier to fit reasonable parameters.

Think you'll find it's harder to skill now than then. (edit, except for the missions, which can be even more costly than buying the skills from auction)
Wont be paying for all the good items then, I missed out on, during the golden years.
Yes, i'd love to loot shadow, just to tt it for another fun hunt, instead of limited Spartacus etc :)
Yes, i'd love to loot an ML45 here, a Mod Merc there, instead of limited CB24's etc.
Yes, i'd love to fap myself in a pool of acid, to skill up numerous skills cheaply :)

As a side not, when I was new, all I used was unlimited non sib guns, like groover etc, and unlimited armour like kobold.

You should do more research before making silly statements about how much better things were in the old days.

Like when there used to be no storage and people tt'ed shadow, angel parts etc because they didn't want to carry them ;-)

I like this idea the best. It could work and may tie in with a foods system

I have no need to do research.
All the nerfs since even after I joined, I know all about.
Mobs with regen, some with high regen, to counter your arguement you had no Limited items then.

It is a lot harder to reach a certain level now, with say a jester D1, non sib in your own words, than it was 7 or 8 years ago.
Items was a more common drop back then, than they ever are now. If you want to be pedantic, common does not equal shadow dropped every other mob killed, but it dropped a hell of a lot more back then than now.

Research my old friend, theres a wealth of it on these very forums.

I could go on listing stuff, but I wont, do your own research.

Also, my post you quoted calling me silly, there was a few smilies, I am neither annoyed, or bothered about what was here 7 or 8 years ago.
