Worse result when finder (L) is almost gone?

This is probably just variance but I have to ask. Three times in a row when my finders are almost empty I start getting horrible hitrates.

This time I got 1 claim in last 60 or so drops (indoor mining) and the one I got was exactly where I dropped. Just as if my finder was almost broken and had a 5m radius or something

Never really saw anything to indicate this. Especially because it was indoors, you'll often get hit rate like this anyways, so whatever you tend to notice going on while that happens can easily become confirmation bias.

In a similar vein, if your finder is nearly depleted, you might be more tempted to just finish the run despite poor hit rate. I do that with amps on occasion hoping to buck the trend for those last few drops, but that rarely happens.

Yeah, would be a very strange thing to implement into the game and I assumed variance/confirmation bias, but I get paranoid... Thanks again for answering all my questions.
