Here's a new guide about a rather expensive profession which is somewhat old, but has been tweaked recently.

Basics

In order to become a MindForcer, you will need the following gear :
- NeoPsion Implant
- Payn-Inc Implant Inserter
- MindForce Chip
- Mind Essence

The Implant Inserter will help you to insert a new NeoPsion Implant in your brain. It contains a powerful disinfectant and its upkeep is very costly (roughly 2.00 PED per use)

The decay for NeoPsion Implants is rather low (roughly 0.01 PED)

11 NeoPsion Implants are known to exist. Each one supports a fixed chip level interval.
- NeoPsion Implant AA (Level 1-3)
- NeoPsion Implant AB (Level 3-7)
- NeoPsion Implant AC (Level 4-7)
- NeoPsion Implant AD (Level 4-8)
- NeoPsion Implant AE (Level 2-8)
- NeoPsion Implant AF (Level 4-10)
- NeoPsion Implant AG (Level 3-10)
- NeoPsion Implant BA (Level 1-3)
- NeoPsion Implant BB (Level 1-5)
- NeoPsion Implant BC (Level 1-7)
- NeoPsion Implant BD (Level 1-9)

There are 10 chip levels, but only 8 are known so far :
- Lesser (I)
- Minor (II)
- Medium (III)
- Moderate (IV)
- Good (V)
- Potent (VI)
- Strong (VII)
- Powerful (VIII)
- ???? (IX)
- ???? (X)

The higher the level, the higher the skills you will need in order to use the chip. And of course, a higher level chip needs a higher upkeep.

Each chip uses a fixed amount of Mind Essence. Mind Essence has a rather high market value (up to 400% at the present time) but can be refined if your skills are low enough (you must be able to gather Vibrant Sweat).
1 Mind Essence = 1 Vibrant Sweat + 1 Force Nexus

Specs

In order to increase efficiency and reduce costs, you should become a Mindforce specialist :
- Biotropy (healing, reviving)
- Psychotropy (mind-related spells)
- Pyrotropy (fiery spells)

Now here's a list of the (known) chips.
NOTE : As the decay was changed recently, you will have to find out by yourself...

Focus Chip (Psychotropy)

Type : Support Chip
Stats :
Code:
|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Focus Chip | Range | Effect | ME | Decay |
|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Lesser | 10 | 2 Charges | 1 | 0.04 PED |
|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Minor | 10 | 4 Charges | 1 | 0.04 PED |
|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Medium | 14 | 8 Charges | 1 | 0.04 PED |
|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Moderate | 16 | 12 Charges | 1 | 0.05 PED |
|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Good | 20 | 16 Charges | 1 | 0.05 PED |
|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Potent | 35 | 19 Charges | 1 | 0.05 PED |
|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
Recommended for cheap skilling. Each Focus Charge allows an avatar to keep concentrated while getting hit.

Heal Chip (Biotropy)

Type : Healing Chip
Stats :
Code:
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Heal Chip | Range | Effect | ME	| Decay |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Lesser | 10 | + 16 HP | 1	| 0.06 PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Minor | 15 | + 24 HP | 1	| 0.06 PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Medium | 19 | + 32 HP | 2	| 0.06 PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Moderate | 19 | + 38 HP | 2	| 0.07 PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Good | 20 | + 44 HP | 3	| 0.08 PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Potent | 35 | + 50 HP | 3	| 0.10 PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
Beginners, keep out. Its low range and its slow reload (which is characteristic of Mindforce) make a FAP way more useful.

Nerve Blast Chip (Psychotropy)

Type : Low-level Offensive Chip
Stats :
Code:
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Nerve Blast Chip	| Range | Effect | ME	| Decay |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Lesser | 35 | 16 Electric | 4	| 0.01 PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Minor | 50 | 32 Electric | 5	| 0.01 PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Medium | 60 | 36 Electric | 5	| 0.01 PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Moderate | 60 | 39 Electric | 5	| 0.02 PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Good | 80 | 42 Electric | 5	| 0.02 PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Potent | 80 | 45 Electric | 5	| 0.02 PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
Recommended for Psychotropy skilling if you don't feel like bubbling noobs for ages. You will need a bigger load of Mind Essence, but you will get less decay, and at least you might get something back if you are planning to hunt with it.

Firestorm Chip (Pyrotropy)

Type : High-level Offensive Chip
Stats :
Code:
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Firestorm Chip	| Range | Effect | ME	| Decay |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Moderate | 100 | 140 Burn | 12	| 0.18 PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Good | 103 | 168 Burn | 15	| 0.21 PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Potent | 105 | 199 Burn | 19	| 0.2x PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Strong | 1xx | 2xx Burn | 2x	| 0.2x PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Powerful | 115 | 296 Burn | 28	| 0.3x PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
Very expensive, but very powerful as well. You will need good Pyrotropy skills in order to use it.

Revival Chip (Biotropy)

Type : Resurrection Chip
Stats :
Code:
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Revival Chip | Range | Effect | ME	| Decay |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Powerful | 3 | Resurrection | 103	| |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
The Revival Chip allows you to revive a dead avatar whose corpse is still within reach. Its range is next to nil and it is very expensive. Make sure you have good Biotropy skills for this one as well.

Teleport Chip (Psychotropy)

Type : Teleportation Chip (d'oh)
Stats :
Code:
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Teleport Chip	| Range | Effect | ME	| Decay |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Lesser | 800 | Teleportation | 9	| 0.02 PED |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Minor | 1600 | Teleportation | 22	| |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Medium | 3300 | Teleportation | 56	| |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Moderate | 4900 | Teleportation | 82	| |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Good | 7200 | Teleportation | 118	| |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Potent | 9900 | Teleportation | 178	| |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Strong | 14000 | Teleportation | 234	| |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
The Teleport Chip is expensive and very unaccurate unless your Psychotropy skills are awesome. It might come in handy if you feel like you are tough, though.

Wormhole Chip (Psychotropy)

Type : Mass Teleportation Chip
Stats :
Code:
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Wormhole Chip	| Range | Effect | ME	| Decay |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Powerful | N/A | Vortex | 678	| |
|------------------------------------------------------------------|
The Wormhole Chip is nothing more than a disguised Level 8 Teleport Chip. You will need an extremely large amount of Mind Essence in order to cast it. If you are successful, a vortex will spawn on another avatar for a few seconds. Anyone may travel using the vortex as long as it is active. Requires extremely high Psychotropy skills.

NOTE : You cannot open a vortex between two continents. With a whopping 3600 average in Mindforce skills, your CoS is still Poor... If you fail, you will not waste any Mind Essence. However, your Wormhole Chip will decay.

Skillgains

Attributes : Intelligence, Psyche
Domains : Biotropy, Psychotropy, Pyrotropy
Mindforce Skills : Anatomy, Bravado, Concentration, Courage, Dexterity, Inflict Ranged Damage, Ranged Damage Assessment, Serendipity
Sweat Gathering : Sweat Gatherer

Some info is still missing, feel free to add anything you know about this ;)

Great guide you have there.

I can add something to the heal chips.
There are intervals in the same way as intervals for Fast Aid Packs.

I have tested 2 chips now. Level 1 (Lesser) and Level 3 (medium)

Level 1 start at 5i, end at 8i.
Level 3 start at 6i, end at 16i.

(i) is your healing interval. That is equal as distance between the different heals from chip.

I am pretty sure that max heal is determined as last interval where you heal "cap" for all those chips. [(max possible heal)/2]
If this is correct, we will have this information

Level 1 start at 5i, end at 8i
Level 2 start at xi, end at 12i
Level 3 start at 6i, end at 16i
Level 4 start at xi, end at 19i
Level 5 start at xi, end at 22i
Level 6 start at xi, end at 25i

Ppl who have those chips, can easily see their lowest interval and put in where I wrore x to get a complete matrix.

Im curious about the Revive chips. How do you know there is a strong? Have you seen it? Cause it feels like having more then 1 type of revive chip is pointless since you only can do one thing with it. So I would guess that there is only powerful. But maybe I missed one :)

Perhaps the stronger the Revive chip the more HP you have when revived... maybe...

I would have though if there is any difference it will be in range. ie the distance from the dead avatar.

And possibly cost per use...

If you mean Rea's im pretty sure its Powerful Resurrection.

Can't find it back on the gallery... :scared:
Time for Nea's fav smiley : I might have :kos:

I'll remove it from the list. if anyone loots a Level 7 RC, please keep us informed.
Oh, and thanks Knoop :)

franck and kjetil, thanks, always a help...
knoop, you continue to bring up good points...
reps all around ;)
and a round of :beerchug: the good stuff

This may be a daft question but, can you have more than one implant inserted at a time? How does the repair work on the implants?

Thanks!

wow. i dont use mindforce, but i found this post to be very interesting and informative. thank you very much for sharing.

=)

I have a medium and a moderate nerv blast chip and when I first used the medium I had no probs it worked as it should. Then I looted the moderate chip and it said that I had 7% left untill I could use it! So far I understand but a month later I checked the moderate chip again and this time it said 12% until I can use it! I havent used MF since that message but when this guide came I wanted to check if there was any change with the moderate chip.
Guess if I had a supprise when I saw that now it is 15% untill I can use it. The medium chip btw works perfect, all my skills are raising and this is mostly confusing. Anyone know why this occurs?

Yeah, I was confused by that too. I don't think it's worded that great. What it means though is that you have 15% of the skills required to use the chip. I've been skilling up to use a potent firestorm chip for a while, but I'm still only in the 30% range.

Also, the focus chart should be updated. Since vu 7.3, the focus charges act differently. Instead of getting 8 focus charges, now you would get "your focus charges have increased from 0-6" ... and if you did it again you'd get "6-14" ... increments depending on skill level. Weaker skills would give you less charges. My moderate chip goes up to 16 charges now though, which is double the previous, even if I have to use it 3 times, it's worth it.

I quess that many other skills rise that % too.
I have all MF skills under 20 (exept Sweat Gathering  )
and my COS is in lvl 4 firestorm is "Exelent"...
i've also heard about from other ppl too that other skill raise % and COS :wise:

Thx, I got quite confused with the% of the chip. I guess it was b/c a friend of my who is lesser skilled tryed the chip and we figured he was closer than me to be able to use it :dunce:
Thx for sorting this out for me :smoke:

Completly awesome guide, which has aided me in starting off in Mindforce, luckily I can still sweat to so have been playing with small amounts of ME so far on a Nerve Chip. Rep added.

How much is a teleport chip, and what skills will i need to get a lvl1 chip?

Devil Doll...

You can only have one implant in your brain at a time, the other slots you see while using the inserter are for GSi's.

Kronas,

A lesser TP chip can be bought at auction for a very cheap price, especially now that MindForce items are at their lowest prices in months.
You don't need any "special" skills, however, you need an implant, a good one fo start with would be a neo psion AA or a better one if you plan on using more higher level chips in the future ;)
Oh yea, and you need the inserter which can be bought at TT and Mind Essence as fuel to using Mindforce. But since your already in my soc, you can borrow our inserter and we can sell ya a AA implant at a fair price

:) thx hun for reminding me :duh: .
You can get them at TT

Or you can get some used ones for 30-32 peds in auction (tt of 15-20 peds  )

Mind Essence

Prolly a Stupid question, but how does mind essence work? i kno u need sweat and Nexus to make it, but HOW do u make it. Also, if you dont's want to buy Nexus, then ur gonna have to mine it (im told). This means that you will need very decent skills in mining as well as Mindforcing, right? well what if all i want to do is be a mindforcer - i dont want to have to work to get the fuel for my spells, cos it'l be days at a time before i get enough Mind Essence to cast them. Also, are there some spells out there that don't need Essence?

FYI

If you are unable to use a Nerve Blast or Firestorm Chip because your levels are too low you can skill handgun or rifle to make up the difference.

I believe this is also true for healing Chips and FAPs.

I had never used a Firestorm Chip before but I could use a level 5 (or 6 i forget) when my handgun was around 2000.

It is cheaper to skill rifle/handgun than MF. So, if you are trying to use that big bad Firestorm chip grab a Opalo and head for the hills.

the best first implant IMO is the Ae. It allows you to use level 2 to level 8 chips.

Actually, the best implant available atm that I know of is a BD implant, which you can use chips level I-IX.

Andy, in order to make Mind Essence you need an Enmatter Refiner, which can be bought at the TT. You need the same amt of nexus and sweat , so for example, if you want to make 200 MindEssence, you would need 200 Sweat and 200 Nexus.

And no, you don't need any mining skills to become a Mindtropian, you just need alot of peds and patience lol. You can buy the nexus from miners, no need to mine your own since mining is so expensive nowadays.

Hope that cleared it out...

? :dunno: . There are different levels of NB and FS chips, so there's always one for someone at any level. Skilling in Rifle does not affect MF skills at all, so I'm a bit confused at your post...

While Rifle and Handgun do not skill MF they do help you to achieve the levels needed to use a chip.

For example, you examine a nerve blast chip and it says you are 60% of the way before you can use that chip. You go out and add 500 skill points to your rifle. You examine that chip again. It will now say 70% (for example.)

This works for sure with handgun and rifle for nerve blast and firestorm. I'm not sure if first aid helps with healing chips but I strongly expect that it does.
