ok i read alot of posts about people complainig about hunting loses,

i would like to ask, what mobs are you hunting and what are your skill levels?

because it seems to me, alot of people are hunting higher end mobs, without the skills hoping for a decent loot

take for instance me

i am level 1700 handgun, and the highest mob i have killed is Cornundacauda's. when i was around 0-1000 handgun all i hunted was Daikibi, Exarosaur and Combibo (nothing else)

tho the loots wasnt excellent, i always seem to break even overall

id love to go out hunting Atrox's n all the other high end mobs, but i'll take my time to do it and ill wait till im more skilled

i dont think there is any problems at all with the loots

i feel the problem is:

Joe Bloggs killed a (Atrox Dominent) n found loot worth 320000ped

so hundereds of people start hunting them but.... most of the people hunting them only have say... 1000-3000 handgun/rifle/melee levels, which to me i think is still not high enough skills to hunt atrox's efficientlly

i may be wrong but thats my 2 pecs worth

I have about 900 rifle skills, and I don't go on too many clean hunting trips, but when I do I usually hunt either snables, berys or molisks. Snables and berys with an unamped Opalo and Molisk with Opalo+103 amp.
Lootwise I end up losing or earning some peds on all of the above. With molisk I usually lose some peds, but they are nice to hunt. :D

Combining hunting i.e. exosaurs with mining and sweating the animals a couple of times before you down them seems to pay off good tho. :)

1950 rifle now I often go for snables and they pay back not that bad, when I am not so bored, molisks, more risky but alltogether not bad. Now why I so often go hunt argonauts I do not know but I don't think I even remotely break even with then.. maybe I like the occasional great loot I expect every next agro. Using Opalo+103 usually, taking out mk2+103 when the odd atrax comes to tease me, or the Argonaut was not Adult but a Gatherer or so.

My rule for selecting mobs to hunt solo is:
If the weapon that I am using is efficient for me, and I can kill said mob in less than 10 shots/swings in average, then it's a suitable mob to hunt.
Not sure if it is too strict, but always worked fine with me.

Better than counting the number of shots/hits you need to kill the mob is
to count how many times it hits you. If you need pauses to regain
health and do not want to fap, then it is too big mob. But I recommend
you to fap like hell (with FAP-5) until your fap skill is about 1k. Then you
can start using bigger fap.

Even if you decide to hunt small mobs, you still have to stand an occasional
bigger mob. So one has to have a kind of balanced strategy in the beginning,
often this "balanced strategy" is little bit in conflict in what your mentor
wants (many of them want you just graduated).

Well I have LB, Rifle, and HG around the mid 2.5k. I hunt bercs, dakibas, snable, atrax, drones gen 1-5, Cornadau(sp?), Caturages, Cornudos.

Depending on the matureity though I hunt a lot of times without armor and a EK2350.

And once in a blue moon I'lltake on some big mobs if my PED card can handle it.
