There is now a Quiz System available, currently in BETA stage, ready to be tested by all members.

There are different categories, more categories can be added if needed, a leaderboard to show top score (in %).

Premium Members will have the ability to submit their own Quizzes when the testing is done, currently the function is disabled, i need to write a HowTo on how to use the submit feature, more on this in a later thread when the Quiz system "goes gold".

The reason to why it's only premium members that are allowed to submit quizzes is because it would be a major time consuming task checking all the submitted quizzes if everyone was allowed, and the fact that there are many members here, it would be too much work as I have to moderate and allow every submitted quiz, checking up on any errors and such before publishing the submitted Quiz.

I have added one Quiz with questions about EU, mostly for old time players, but also some easy questions. All submitted quizzes should be EU only, maybe later we can add an off-topic section, but for starters it's EU only.

Please take the Quiz System for a test ride, and report back here in the thread how it went.

We'll test it for a day or two, i need to make some minor adjustments, but it's up, running and working.

Please report back, and please keep the answers secret, as it would spoil it for others who want to test their knowlegde about EU. ;)

Well.. I like the quiz system so far. Great job on it. Maybe if i had been around longer I might have known a few more of the answers. Only got a 60% :scared:

Great work MB - just wish i was paying attention in all those EU classes cuz my answers sucked lol.

Anyway i liked it - prefer to get the overall score at the top and maybe an option not to submit the score to the leaderboard if (like me) you get a p*** poor score :laugh:

Ish, 33%. Guess it's not bad considering i'm playing from Feb 2006 and part of the answers i guessed, part i knew from old school players :)

Someone said they hope the answers won't be looked upon. Why not? This would give a n00b a better view of how the game evolved (or not).

Great idea MB, keep it up :)

Yes after losing the quiz then you can look up the answers. But if you think about it the 2 I missed were crafting ones, easy ones too. Without giving anything away they were the ones regarding spelling and materials used for making an item. I could easily have gotten 100% if I looked that up before hand. Afterwards though is fine of course, and to be expected. :thumbup:

It won't be long till someone cheats though.. :(


Edit: I should add that even though this will happen it really doesn't matter. The quiz is fun and I can't wait to see others. :)

This is very nice! I love quizzes, except that being new and all I didnt know the answer to anything and randomly guessed two correctly. I will be looking forward to n00b quizzes for now :laugh:

MB, will these quizzes show up thru RSS readers when they are newly posted?

And since im asking about RSS, im not getting author info thru my reader, are you publising this or is it on my end.

Just a couple thoughts on the thing:


  • the PM you receive after the quiz, with the score and the results, doesn't shows the correct answer (Hidden, it says)... that is how it is intended to work, right?
    • will there be the option for the Quizzes creators to Hide/Show the answers to the quiz-takers?
  • I've missed a question... skipped it to get back to it, but forgot (doh! :duh: )... is it possible to have a JavaScript check the radios and ask if the user still wants to submit it or not?!
  • Will it be possible to retake the same quiz... let's say after a preset (or creator-set) timeframe?
  • As of now, when clicking on one of the users who took the test, it shows the breakdown of its answers... does that works also for users that still didn't take the quiz? (if yes, you can go and see the correct answers... sorry, didn't thought of testing it beforehand! :)).
  • When you click on a user in the quiz module, you got the user's results... could you set a link also to the user's profile?!

I've not been playing long, but 26% lmao. I thought I knew a little more than that.

60% ... not that bad :)

I'll complete my 1st year in 2 weeks .. so like a noob i'am i feel was ok.

+rep MB for this COOL Quiz. :clap: Hope in the GOLD version to know even the right answers in our PM's ;)
 
86% and i can't believe i screwed up such trivial questions like who MA's CEO was and who adjusted the Adj. Hero being "3 years old" :duh: i knew those i swear i did LOL :D

There is an option to hide/show the correct answer in the PM, though it's an admin settings per quiz, a PM to me together with the submission and i will set the option accordingly when i review the submission, it can be set as hidden, or as showing the correct answer.

No, the quizzes are a one time test only.

You cannot see that unless you have already taken the quiz yourself, it is also an admin setting that can be changed, either allowing to view others scores (when taken yourself) or not show at all, either way, members who have not taken the quiz cannot see it.

Nice idea :)

A noobish 60% for me. 66% I'd have taken. But sadly, seems despite reading the word probably nearly every day for half a year or so I somehow still can't spell Blaus... :hammer:

I am correct, what is the hidden part?! :) So cKs are woosy drinkers and I am a noob. Since I have little history with PE, there are too many history questions most will try to guess.

Damn <removed spoiler>, you should put more spelling questions, like Nutrio, (nutrino, neutrio :laugh: ) and some of the most common names.

Why do I get a message from myself? Can you make a quizmaster or something to give the messages?

Keep in mind that this first quiz is just, well, a first quiz, more will come from premium members im sure, i will prolly make more also.

Btw, mine seems a little tough :D noone got 100% yet :D
