Hi,

my newest hobby (i.e. PED drain, but not always) is crafting Furniture. As I am also a bit into statistics I am trying to find out how skillgains affect my Carpenter Profession (which is still just below 1).

So far, I have been able to identify the following:

Intelligence (~39%)
Capentry (~30%)
Engineering (~28%)
Machinery (~6%)
Wood Carving (~6%)
Wood Processing (~8%)

Suspected influence
BPC (from Doer's data, ~8% if Computer as no influence)
Computer (not been able to confirm yet)

Identifying your Carpentry profession standing can be done conveniently if you have a (L) Blueprint at your disposal (e.g. one at the auction), that you cannot use yet: You just check under Profession Requirement multiply the skill progress with the recommended level and get your current level. The closer you are to being able to use it, the more accurate the result.
Alternatively, the standard approach of counting pixels on your Professions screen is the way to go (I am happy to do that for you if you post screenies).

If you could post your Carpentry Profession and the skills in bold above, I would be most grateful as I could verify and gain more insights for everybody (ending up on the wiki for sure ;) ). If I missed a skill, please let me know!

Thanks,
Gingko

Intelligence skillgain & influence on carpentry profession confirmed with another skillgain, another increase in the %skillprogress of a level 2 (L) BP. Note: the change in Int was from 26.2 to 26.3 -- so fractions of a full point do make a difference!

Also, more data (yet still below level 1) changes the weights a bit:

Intelligence (w/o multiplying, straight skill value) 0,3545
Carpentry 0,28928
Machinery 0,12145 (barely significant)
WC 0,1345 (still not significant)
WP 0,07259 (still not significant)
Engineering 0,285714 (exactly 2/7)

Any furniture crafters out there caring to share their stats?

... Finally enough data to have all parameters significant... yet still below 1, and only my little set of data... Furniture seems to be pretty exotic?

Code:
The regression equation is
Crafting Lvl = 0,390 Int + 0,304 Carpentry + 0,0588 Machinery
+ 0,0616 WC (Wood Carving) + 0,0838 WP (Wood Processing)
               + 0,282 Engineering

Predictor Coef SE Coef T P
Noconstant
Int 0,38983 0,02180 17,88 0,000
Carpentry 0,304486 0,007826 38,91 0,000
Machinery 0,05884 0,01496 3,93 0,000
WC (Wood Carving) 0,06160 0,01629 3,78 0,000
WP (Wood Processing) 0,08382 0,02538 3,30 0,002
Engineering 0,282098 0,004041 69,81 0,000

I missed this before. Here ya go:

Carpenter: 4.71

Capentry 2.19
Engineering 1472.06

Machinery 16.00
Wood Carving 1.00
Wood Processing 1.79
Intelligence 41.95

Computer 276.71

Oops and don't forget
BPC 453.92

Thanks Doer for sharing the data! :yay: (and I must spread some rep before...)

If I plug in your values into the equation I got I end up with 0.083 as the weight for BPC, which sounds reasonable.

Of course I need more data, especially data with BPC :wtg:

Furniture crafters, where are you ;) ?

I just started with this profession and I can currently only make some pall stools and nallo ceiling lamps... but I'll gather up my stats later on (at work now) and post them here...

Keep up the good work!

I've had a look at my NRF data for these. We're obviously missing some chips and the skills I have are all fairly low, so I can't get it exact. I think its (bold pretty certain):

Intelligence 2%
BPC 9%
Machinery 5%
Engineering 28%

Carpentry 30%
Wood Carving 6%
Wood Processing 8%

With 10% left for unlockable skills, and 2% to be spread between the bottom three skills (pretty sure at least one of those will go to carpentry)
