How to tune in to Raven-z radio active

How to tune in to Raven-z:
(windows users)​


make sure that you have at least one music player installed and working properly. Most common players are:
Winamp - Window Media Player - RealPlayer - QuickTime

There is 3 ways to tune in:


A/ Use the direct link: http://www.raven-z.com:8180/listen.pls - this will open directy your player and play the station
So how to set your player for this to work:
- Winamp (v2.9 works the best): right click on it - do Options/preferences/ - in the left, click on file types and select .pls - click on close.
- Media Player (v11.0 works well): as far as I know we cannot set .pls files to be played on it, so the direct link won't work. :mad:
- Real Player (v6 works well): click on Tools/preferences - in the left side, click on media file types - then in the right side of that window click on advanced - a new window opens, browse down until you see Other Medias and see below: broadcasting audio... (pls xpl) - check it if it is not - click ok and ok again.
- QuickTime click on modify/preferences/preferences QuickTime - click on the file types tab - Click on + MP3 and open the submenu - check playlist mp3 - click ok

click on http://www.raven-z.com:8180/listen.pls and you are done :)​


B/ Tune in by opening the stream URL with your favorite player

- Winamp right click on it - do Play/Location - A small window will open asking you to enter an URL - Type: http://raven-z.com:8000 and click on Open. You are done.
- Media Player Click on file/open URL - A small window will open asking you to enter an URL - Type: http://raven-z.com:8000 and click on Ok. You are done.
- Real Player Click on file/open - A small window will open asking you to enter an URL - Type: http://raven-z.com:8180/listen.pls and click on Open. You are done.
- QuickTime Click on file/open URL - A small window will open asking you to enter an URL - Type: http://raven-z.com:8180/listen.pls and click on Ok. You are done.


C/ Open your brower and go to the website http://raven-z.com.
In the top menu, click on 'tune in'. It will open a small popup with RealPlayer and the stream should start automaticaly (make sure that your Real Player is installed in your computer)

To get this to play on Ubuntu I:

Downloaded XMMS (MP3 player)
Saved the .pls file to my desktop.
Opened XMMS.
File - Open - playlist.pls

and I was jamming. :wtg:

Im sorry, the server was down since yesterday late in the evenning until this morning... Machines are only machines... and human being are only human beings :scratch2:

I got it. After you downloaded XMMS, you must first set it in order to play .pls files. and then click on the link http://raven-z.com:8000/listen.pls
If it asks you to download the .pls file it is because you have none of your players set to play them. ;)
 
Servers are back up and it works well. Thanks for the info. :wtg:

The streaming Port URL has been changed to 8000, so the new URL is:

(simply click the link below or copy it to your player & the Radio will play in your default player - then save the url to favorites so you can pop back at any time).
