Where is the Oil Rig

Hi,

I was looking for the Oil Rig in PVP2 area, but all I found was a small mountain looking like "Ayers Rock in Australia" and lots of very strong creatures like Atrox...didn't find any oil though.

Anyone know where to find it? Or should just make some runs through, grab some oil and die :mad:
 
So I should run to the center of that area and look out for some structure as shown at the map? What direction should I run from the mountain discribed above? N-E?
 
Around 200m directly NE of that mountain.
 
I missed it the first time I was there cause I was thinking BIG.. Like the offshore oilplatforms.. In truth it is a pathetic little thing surrounded by 4 dunes..
 
Thanks a lot! Ill make a run for it as soon I get online. Any tips from where to approach it? And if I've reached it should I be safe...or still keep running. :tongue2:
 
Don't know with the latest VU's. I went there last spring as a noob and wearing orange and was PK'd as I arrived......never went back. :wise:
 
Yeah my mentor say most people shoot orange suits on sight. Quite mean, considering methinks it was originally designed with noobs in mind.

they don't actually. ;)

All depends on who's there, but quite often a noob has a chance.

If they can grab the oil amongst the host of oil scripts...:rolleyes:
 

Hope this helps a picture of the rig it is only small. If you have seen the big rocks you are close but there are tow of them one to the south of the rig the other to the north depending on which out post you come from depend on where the rig is.

I went 5 time since I palyed, never got oil either. It seems there is always an amount of Angle/Nemesis and big guns there that seem to stop me when I get close. And since I don't have the Ped to compete it is kinda hard to keep trying. I rather lose the decay some where else.

keep going south as far as you can get before the trox eat you.

if you revive at the southern sc (also known as the farthest point from ANYWHERE..an SC close to the south east ocean) then you've made it.

there should be lots of people around heading NE to the rig, just hitch a ride.

think about trying to get some oil, but I wonder what is the Oil worth? anyone knows what prises to expect when selling it? (if I manage to get some :) )

Methinks it was originally designed with pvp-happy people in mind. It's a hard-to-resist bait so there is something to shoot at. ;)
 
Coordinates 243xx by 83xx (press P)

Oil is around 110% or less... every 7-30 minutes a barrel pops up...woth 5-14 PEDs...be the first who clicks it :D
 
Its very close to the place where you will die over and over again :rolleyes:

You mean ONE barrel spawns every 7-30 minutes? And that only ONE person can get it? :) That's ... argh!
 
The fastest clicker should get it...just walk there with your friend and now you might have a better change to grab oil...and maybe share ;)

Sounds good, but very often happens, that oil comes and almost immediately is grabbed by someone, even the person is far away or on the other side of the rig ... my friend experienced it, so he was not able to grab any ... when he asked, they told him he has a longer ping then they have... i think there are some macros- or robots-running people and compete with them mannualy is just wasting time.

It is very easy to cheat at the rig...but yes, a bad ping might also be a problem...
 
It's not worth it. Sweating gives better output. Wait till you're the pwnzor and you can kill everyone else. There's no such thing as being nice, the people there are there to kill and take oil - that's it. If ya see me online near there, I'll show you how to get there w/o running into any monsters, but trust me, it's pointless unless you at least don't look anything like a noob and you have the guns and armor to back it up.
