It sounds like quite the turn of events here.

One major issue here that isnt even addressed much that I see: ALT accounts

Many people seem OK with alt accounts at these levels. To me it is not OK no matter who you are.

There is a rule, most of us follow that rule, even if it means we could accomplish less in game to avoid the risk of loss of accounts.

I could make use of an alt or two, and would really benefit from it, but refuse to run the risk, of breaking a pretty well known fact:

You cannot have more than one account, period.

And I actually like to make everything the hard way, its why I play EU.

I dont really care how much you vested or what the reasons may be, anyone who does this is circumventing the game mechanics and providing a means for fraud against all of us, period.

I would like to see all accounts involved with potential 2nd accounts locked and investigated. Probably better MA does that internally before a regulator does. It could easily be submitted that if MA know about it, they would be facilitators of fraud, on well quite a level (turnover is what 100 million a year?). And if they have such a big rule, then why wouldn't MA bother to even try to enforce it let alone look for it. I am certain if they looked they would know, with out a doubt.

10 years ago IPS were harder to trace. Now its all very easy to find out with the right access, thanks to the advances of cyber security. If you think the US govt as example wouldn't find a way to reverse engineer an IP and make it a standard procedure, then you have some reality thinking, we live in a virtual age, with governments spending billions on cyber security.


Pirate or MS owner I dont care, to each their own, I've been shot down, I've supported MS....I wont support blatantly known multiple accounts, no matter who it is.


MA please take action, this is sickening to be honest that the level of alt conspiracy going on.
 
I have to admit I am really surprised to see Goldy was a pirate...

It's something I had already considered but at the end I am still sure he was serious in his safe flights, and prove of this is that noone ever been looted when travelling on Dreadnought, I transported lot of stuff a pair of times myself too, and of course since it's a profit way, pirate or not it simply doesn't worth to allow passengers run risk when on board of own ship, else the service closes.

But yeah, a pirate with a safe flights service is not easy trustable and indeed not many passengers will use his ship to transport loot again, included me...

So now a pirate ship around? or just a MS for sale soon? :silly2:
 
I think most of you forgot what was the beginning of this epic drama, and still no1 from Goldy's side comment about it :lolup:

There was one guy, who went to Entropiatransport.com and SPAM PORN LINKS + FAKE EFA ADVERTISEMENT. His IP Address is the SAME as the one that Goldy + EarnestJ use on RT forum.

Too coincident?
Please comment on this matter 1st before providing any defense :silly2:

Narfi did not have Goldy's IP at first. The IP ADDRESS was from the Porn SPAMMER.

You know the part about me posting in this thread BEFORE Goldyj (or is it Grnsty) went into Narfi's chat and acted like an ass.

Or how about how you ignored the fact that I'm in a soc Narfi really doesn't like. It's no secret he doesn't like pirates and it's also no secret he had a run in with one who was Temporial Destinies. Or could you not be bothered to read what soc I was in on the little name thing to the left.

So either you're just playing obtuse to try to make me look wrong, or you were in the slow readers class in school.

Also now that I know you're incapable of understanding sarcasm I'll make sure I spell everything out in nice small easy to understand words from here on out.
 
FYI Stagger's native language isn't english and (as he has said on this forum before) he's high a lot of the time. Those factors don't add up to consistent reading comprehension.

While I will not discuss specifics, I will say that this forums security measures goes beyone simple IP address checking.

This issue with Goldy/EarnestJ was brought to the mod's attention, and upon investigation, we were comfortable banning Goldy's acct as an alt.

As always, we mods are more than willing to admit when a mistake is done, and always allow people to dispute an alt acct banning. The acct would be revived if the proper proof is given. However, based on this post

MS Kronan Went on a dropship hunt (part of the EFA crew)

Zombie arms continues to sell cheap Rk-5s to all motherships services and individuals @ emerald lakes mall

MS Dreadnought shot down Kronan at the dropship spawns

Some people upset, some people happy, just general chatter nothing crazy then happened.

Someone went onto entropiatransport.com promoting EFA flights, and linking pornographic material.

Narfi (owner of Entropiatransport), thought this was wierd since EFA ship had a bug, so narfi loaned them one of his ships. Wouldnt make sense for them to be so hostile.

Narfi did an IP check of the spammer in his website, then ran it on ND forums (he is a moderator there) to try to find out who this person was.

Interestingly enough the IP matched up to two accounts on ND forums. Taxi Goldy, and Ernestj (ernest is a pirate).

Taxi Goldy was in CK Shadows.

Narfi attempted to contact CK Shadows, to let them know his findings as to do any damage control.

Narfi posted his information (but blocked out the personal information) on his website.

A day or two later others linked the information on this forum. and all hell erupted.

CK verified it, and so did the moderators on this forum. Indeed Taxi Goldy is ErnestJ a pirate in nebula virus. He has been both providing transporting and pirating people.

Another great EU story is born.

Goldy's account is banned on PCF, and his ship is most likely going to see a decline in services rendered.

One day, the mothership Kronan came across the Dreadnaught in space. Goldy started shooting.
The Kronan sat there not returning fire, because they were on friendly terms. So then Goldy blew the owner of the Kronan.
Soon after, all of Entropia Fleet Alliance showed up and blew up the Dreadnaught.

Narfi owns the mothership MacReady. He also flies people for free (plus tips)

One day, someone came into the chat room on Narfi's website. He uses the chat room to notify his passengers when it is safe to log back in on arrival to the planet.
This visitor to the chat room came in with the username "EFA" and began spamming links to porn sites on Narfi's chat room, as well as spamming: EFA has the cheapest warp flights, 5 ped to nobs, 20 ped to ubers lololol (or some such)

Narfi contacted EFA, and I came into the chat room on Sakuba's behalf to verify that this person using the name "EFA" was not affiliated with the Entropia Fleet Alliance, and that such actions would not be tolerated within the Alliance.

Narfi, as owner of the website, noted the IP address of the offender and banned the IP. He noted that the IP address was in Lithuania.

Narfi is also a mod on the RT forum, so he ran the IP through their database to see if he would get a match. He got two matches from the IP: One was Goldy, the other was ErnestJ (a well-known pirate)

He posted that information to the forum here.

All of Goldy's friends came and defended him on the forum.
All of ErnestJ's friend came and defended him on the forum.

The PCF mods investigated the matter as well, and locked Goldy's forum account as an alt (now verified, see JC's post above)

All of Goldy's friends slowly backed away, saying that they had no idea.
All of ErnestJ's friend sat there looking stupid, not really knowing what he should say or do, and fearing that if he moved or talked that he would just look even more retarded.

I think that's it.

It's actually an interesting read :). So you should read it while quading between planets or mid-crafting run :).

Basically, Dreadnought shot down the Kronan, and subsequently, the owner of Dreadnought got banned in-forum and (pending in-game ban).

Timeline Breakdown:
1970s: Goldy shoots down Kronan in dropships spawn, because he "claimed the hunting grounds." He acutally just wanted a friendly fight since he was bored. EFA responded by taking almost all its ships, warping to dropships spawn and aiding the Kronan in taking down the SI-rich Dreadnought.
1980s: This thread started. cK defended Goldy's actions because, he is/WAS their soc mate, and because "Dreadnought is cK". (side arguments between Coat Killers and Shadows, Coatkillers condemning Goldy for his actions etc. etc.)
1990s: Brief divergence into RavenJade's gender. And still more arguments as to the incident and whether Goldy could be trusted.
2000s: For some dang reason, (either because of desperation or rage at losing customers by the hundreds) Goldy decides to post on Narfi's site, using the psuedonym "EFA". Posted slander and porn.
2010s: Narfi, being both moderator of his site and of RT forums, noticed that ErnestJ and Goldy's IPs are the same. He posts screenshots.
Present: Screenshot experts (had NO idea this thread would be that awesome), yes LITERAL GFX IMAGE EXPERTS examine the screenshots and give testimonies for/against their legitimacy. Also, IP ADDRESS EXPERTS give testimonies as well.
Future: cK Shadows leader finds out Goldy = ErnestJ, upon admission by Goldy and some investigation. Goldy is ousted from the society. PCF bans Goldy.

I sincerely hope Goldy sells his MS and chips out and withdraws all his peds before the (probable?) in-game ban comes.

p.s.: forgot to add: Stagger posted some things (including some kind of notion of an Ilumuniati-esc presence in EU that wanted to take Goldy down and get him banned, turning the population against him using mind control / power of autosuggestion), but mostly was trolling, and was obvious. But he mostly fanned flames that reached whole pages of responses.

I'd like to add two cases to this list

- the ISP uses a transparent caching proxy
- the user subscribes a secure VPN provider

In the first case some ISPs route much their web traffic via a transparent proxy (this allows them to reduce bandwidth usage because the proxy caches various resources (e.g. images)). In doing log file analysis I have seen this repeatedly, for example many users at AOL seem to come from only a few IP addresses. These are in fact the ip addresses of AOLs caching proxy.

The second case, the secure VPN provider, has become more common due to the explosion of free public wifi. The downside of free public wifi is the lack of security. Services like witopia.net (and their dozens of competitors) provide a secure way to use public wifi. A side effect of using a service like this is that you appear to be coming from the VPN proivder's IP address, and so do their other customers.

From other posts in this thread it does not seem that either of these cases apply here, but it is something to consider when looking at IP address.

Darn went to bed last nite, woke up of to work, come home and realize that I missed a whole season of my favorite soap opera, worst of all at the last episodes I get not 1 but 3 summaries...

Perhaps Goldy was preparing for the heist of the century in EU. Luring players to use his service and when some1 (or several avatars) hit an ATH or multiple high MU hofs he lets himself be shoot down (have heard on legit services that announce upon embarkation that login off is not needed as they have ample SI).

Now that would have been epic.

I guess you can often see that on the hostname though (for webcaches) or the owner of the IP address (for VPN providers).
