FYI: Dreadnought shooting down friendly ship

Use your brain sweetie, they did an ip check. They don't take anything at face value.

The image you have uploaded, I have marked in red squares the parts that you probably claim to be edited:

What you are seeing is nothing more than compression artifacts, I have marked in shiny pink other areas with artifacts presenting the same level of granularity than what you think are "photoshopped" areas.

What would be the point of editing those areas at the corners? those present the exact same artifacts than the other ones right?

Now read this very carefully: What you are seeing are compression artifacts, all the artifacts in the image present the same level of granularity meaning all of them where compressed at the same quality.

You could call "omg photoshop !!" if (at least) the "edited" and "original" areas presented different level of compression artifacts.

I have nothing to do with all this little soap opera but can't stand people calling BS on other based on what any expert would tell you are nothing more than JPEG artifacts. Now you are completely free to think whatever you like, call me a liar or whatever but you have proof of nothing.

I don't have enough patience and time to waste trying to explain compression algorithms to you.

Actually, i can see Stagger may have a point. I tried blowing up an image from this forum, and i dont see any pixelation on it

Looks like photo shop to me ... and I also understand what an IP lookup is. I don't think its right, but I guess Narfi must be tied to PCF somehow.

I'm not looking to get banned, just saying that it's not cool to take sides in a pissing match such as this one. The battle thread has gone from one extream to another and now Goblin is banned???

(That I am using Fishface's name to show this is simply because his post happened to be on my screen at the time, it does not mean anything).

I can say that Narfi takes a great risk If he actually lied about the match between "Goldy's" and "EarnestJ's" IP addresses. He is not the only mod on RT Forum, and he is not PCF Moderator either. We are pretty sure that there are many people can bust Narfi's lie easily.

There can be more than one explanation how those 2 IP addresses match, but it is just "too coincident" that between a Pirate and a Honest MS Service Provider :silly2:.

Not so, IP addresses are shared unless you pay for static services or your provider assigns an IP to you free of charge. At the end of the day, the only way to prove what Narfi is saying is to involve the ISP that Goblin uses. Only they can prove that the IP was assigned to him during the said time or they will show otherwise and clear his name. What are the chances that the ISP is going to give a hoot .. not likely.

At this point, I think this entire thread has gone on the extra side. I don't know Narfi and friends, but all I see is a bunch of crying because of something that happened in PVP ............. in PVP ........... where players play against other players. The issue of right and wrong to shoot down the other ship is not in questions here.

People have posted private information and have clearly violated privacy. Not to mention that there are other people in EU that do support Goblin and will stand behind him as others are to Narfi. For all I know, Narfi posted on his own site and has put a target on Goblin because of all the crap in this thread.

If you don't see the problem with the possibility of a MS Service being run by a pirate's alt, you are as dumb as I think you are.

Really this whole stuff from the last couple days should be a whole new thread because it's not just about the kronan being shot down anymore.
It's about goldy's behaviors, him going into narfi's chat room and attempting to cause conflict between services, and the fact that his ip and Ernstj's match.

Now could they be two different people on the same ip? Ohh it's possible. I mean they could live in the same house or happen to have pulled the ip from the same dhcp pool at different times, but the supporting evidence is a bit much isn't it? Also so far goldy's defenders have been a pirate, and you. That's about it. Not looking good for team goldy is it?

I just think it's a hell of coincidence that one of entropia's most disliked pirates share an isp and potentially an ip with one of entropia's most disliked mothership owner. I mean this guy couldn't get customers on FREE flights. What's that saying?

Everyone was over that he shot down sbi's mothership. It was done, it was over. It was goldy/ernstj that had to keep it going by going into narfi's chatroom to make efa look bad.

Had he not done that childish act of posting porn links and spam for efa in narfi's chatroom, Narfi never would of looked at the IP to see who it was. Who knows how long he would of gone being both a pirate on one ava and a mothership owner on another gathering info on who carries alot of loot on them and when.

The posts from yesterday, and today have nothing to do with the op post. This should be in it's own thread. Don't you see that?

I know you want to believe the best in your friend, and that's admirable. It really is. But sadly, I think there is just too much evidence to show that he was up to no good.

That's not really correct. Where an ISP uses DHCP to dynamically assign an external up address to you, you retain that IP until the lease duration expires. That period is commonly 3 days but can be configured by the DHCP administrator to be any period they want (1 hr, one week, one month etc). your pc requests a lease renewel halfway through the lease duration. If you are logged off at that time, then it tries the next time it connects to the ISP. So you tend to retain the same IP address if u a regularly logged on.

Now while you have an ipaddress assigned to you, that ip address is not available to be assigned to another customer. Two customers cannot have the same ip address at the same time. So in the Goldy/EarnestJ situation, it would be useful to check the timestamps of the connections. The closer they are together the less likely it is that DHCP leasing is the cause of the same ip address. And if there are multiple overlapping connections with same ip then it becomes almost impossible to attribute DHCP leasing as the cause.

There are circumstances in which two compurters can have the same external ip. If they share the one ISP account them only one external ip is assigned. Examples of this include:
- multiple computers in a household
- multiple computers in a university residential college, hotel etc
- multiple computers in a workplace environment.

So if Goldy and EarnestJ live or work at the same location that could also explain the common ip address.

Iam the soc leader of taxi goblin. He joined us since few months and travel with him is not a problem.
For me, shoot the kronan was a bad idea ,and i explain him why. You need to note he didnt kill anyone in space when kronan exploded. So i decided to give him another chance
Today in game ,i saw an add about who hold the dreadnought ,goldy or a pirate .Now i dont have the answer but iam working on it ,cause it seem the IP can be share in some situation
In game ,the most important thing is reputation,and i prefer to play with players i can trust.
So ,if i ve the proof,or the feeling goldy and the pirate are the same person ,i gonna kick him from soc .

Hey Chad, it looks like the top most leader of cK is against Goldy. Are you still going to take his side? :)

Also, I offered Goldy 10k peds for his MS... he didn't take it. Now I guess he's forced to get the TT value of an MS (whatever that is).
 
This drama took a turn for the much more hilarious. Wonder how long before we see the dreadnaught for sale by MA's liquidator :laugh:

Bravo to all those involved, and a special thank you to goldy. I had though this thread was out of quality entertainment :cool:

I understand your point:wise: You must also understand that, to date, Goblin has not given me any reason to question him or his word. He has earned my friendship and I will always stand by my friends. This is not an easy situation by any means for anyone involved.
