Before install:
Try to disable/unistall your anti-virus software and also firewall.
Check if you have enough free space on harddisk.
Install it on main harddisk, not an aux/external.
Maybe check if your harddisk for bad sectors or your system for hardware problems.
Anyway, this is my guess.

try making sure u have the correct ports open and also the codec can be bad but first check this

These ports need to be opened in your firewall if you wish to participate in Project Entropia:

20, 21 (TCP Outbound) - Additional TCP port outbound for passive mode FTP
30584 (UDP inbound/outbound)

hope it helps also note that u need directX to be newest official and using a beta version can cause troubles
