Back to the Past...

Excellent post Sirhc, couldnt have said it better!

As for the older loots, i hope that this reminds Mindark that we need those kinds of loots to be happy.. like a wakeup call. Happy players spend more and create goals other then just trying to get their spent money back (only goal for 75% of players).

But there's one thing on everyone's mind that should be mentioned:

Recently, for those informed and up to date with happenings, only a very small number of avatars are getting all the loots. And i mean high loots. While i never profit, and i consider myself average skilled, they profit dozens of K's per week. This pisses alot of people off. Sure let them profit.. But why should 10 profit while 100K loses? If 100K leaves EU, its a lot worse scenario.

If for one hand it can be an incentive (become uber skilled and then profit like mad), whats doing to most of us is killing the fun and hope. I know some very dedicated people to EU that play 24/7... and simply dont loot anything worth mentioning. What kind of payment is that for their dedication?

I dont really care about big profits from hunt. What i do care is looting:

- Better items that allow me to progress ingame, and not peds to pay stuff super overpriced to scum resellers that withdraw from the game to cover their RL addictions and bills.

- Enough loot that covers ammo spent and total decays per hunt.

- If you global, it means profit - and not going on a hunt, globaling and returning minus.

- Becoming skilled to a point where i slowly profit from everyday's hunt, so i can build a nice pool of cash to eventually buy an imp/mod fap - because they dont drop anymore.

And i must say that even with mod fap and Mod Merc, only 1/10 will profit with this setup. Because loot adjusts to your spendings. Try hunting with Opalo and see average loot, and then hunting with Urban Stalker+Dante.. and you will see how many 20-40 ped loots you will get using the BLP combo. It has to be that way or else the risk of loss would be tremendous. Its already big, but if the loot didn't adjust to decays, then we would have serious mayhem going on. Being uber efficient means nothing unless the supporting skills are way high like 10K, just as Knuckles said.

And the rest i underline Sirhc's words, they really make a lot of sense.

Im so tired of depositing 50$ and more then half of it going to decays... just to have another 25$ that last about 2 hours of play. If i want a Casino, ill go to one. But I want EU. A place where i can have fun hunting, mining, and socializing.

Im mad, yes i am, because i love this place and it just kills me to see it left to abandon by their own makers.

Great post, Jorael asked me please in socchat to write my feelings here:

Well let me start with alittle background. I started PE along time ago, some 4 years or more back in time from today. I was amazed by the it from first moment. I saw people like NightCrawler, Angel, Gem, etc etc and was amaized by their skills and gear. I watched them kill Atrox Stalkers W of Troy as a team and I though "Wow, I want to be like that one day!" So my journey begun, from the very first day I wanted to be a hunter. I deposited some peds and bought myself a brand new mkI Punisher and full pioneer armor, and a fap-5. I was ready to go. My skills went up but quiet fast I realized I didnt last long agains tougher mobs (read armax cow mature) and my pedcard was getting empty very fast. I started to talk to peolpe, read on forums and take notes of what I thought worked well or not. I realized I started to big, so I downgraded to an outback and hunted tantardions in team with alot of great, fun people and actually stayed afloat. As my skills progressed I upgraded my gear. I still had the dream to loot something nice and one day I killed an armax cow and looted a Ravanager minisweeper v2. WOW this was the gun I had dreamed of for soo long. As time went by I hunted more and more and depositet some every month to upgrade to nemesis armor.

When I think back of these first months in PE I feel happy and sad. Back then it was so much fun trying to loot or save up for better gear, now that dream is almost dead. I dont have any goal anymore except raising my skills, I have no hope for an ATH or even looting something worth mentioning, you may call me a whiner and tell me my time will come, but I just dont see it anymore. Im depositing more and more money every month to keep on hunting 1000-3000 ped ammo per day but the sad return and never ever lootwindows with items kills my mood. For me this game has never been about making money or withdrawing big bucks. I never even though of it, my only dream was to progress, to take small steps toward the elite. Right now I can consider myself pretty skilled but it feels kinda pointless when all my dreams has been so shattered. Im not saying im giving up, im just trying to put my feelings to word. I didnt even open all those ATH screenshot because I have seen all of them while they happend. I really hope MindArk will consider the road they are currently traveling, but maybe this is their buisness plan and we are just the fuel to feed it...if so, they succeeded with A+...

... if the new player base feels like they cannot attain a decent skilled avatar with decent items (not talking adj imp or mod) without getting a second mortgage on their house they will quit and go play something reasonable.

Well, I'm neither new, not old ... I'm "medium" sort of ;)
Lemme tel ya this ... my best item in loot was Vigi Armguardsfrom an Atrox young ... I hunted quite a wide range of mobs with no better results ...

What I do agree with you on (reason for the quote) is that a RPG type game with no sane means of evolution skill and equiment wise (mortgage excluded, omg ... that would be totally lame imho) is on it's road to slow death and oblivion ...

My :twocents: that is ....

EDIT: The ppl handling the economic part of PE should watch Matrix some 2-3 times in row ... maybe they'll get the ideea  Keep us entertained, we won't complain (too much) and keep providing .... but who knows ... maybe Ferrari increased their service/maintenance fees for 2006 :D and all this is just the aftershock ...
