Background of your avatars name..

Ok so here is the story for my name:

So my ingame name is Lady eefi Marmalade and the Lady & Marmalade part comes from the song by Christina Aguilera "Lady Marmalade", I'm not sure if it's her song but anyway...

And eefi is from a Japanese TV show / video game (Yes I like anime :ahh:). I really liked the eefi character so I started to use that name in games and forums.

So call me eefi if you see me :D

Oliveira Langsuyar Salazar

When I gave this name to the avatar I never expected to last this long in this game, so I just wanted a name to check out the game...

Oliveira Salazar is the name of a former Portuguese dictator.
His name came up cos I have his picture standing above my pc screen so that I can salute him everyday! Kidding!:D
Honestly it was just a name that came to my mind atm!

Langsuyar T-Rex is the former name of the Moonspell lead singer, so as a fan of Moonspell in need of a nickname for a computer game I've adopted Langsuyar. Never liked the T-Rex part!

I've thought about changing the name a thousand times, but I never really came up with anything better! :D

And please call me Langsuyar or Lang, ty! :D
 
NAME: Eman Gimme Jakubisko
REASON: Eman... I wanted to create silly name, as opose to heroic names like: Shiny, The Chosen, Destroyer or etc :D Gimme... I knew PE is RCE so i put it there dunno, why ,never thouught about begging or such stuff Jakubisko... I know its famous writer but never read a book from him, but I used his name because it sounded silly enough to accompany Eman name.

Im glad I met just 1 Eman ingame, year ago, he was in OJ and hopefully ended playing EU :D
 
Master Stilskin Shine

Hmm, where to start? Master Stilskin ive used in all online games

From the begining is was just Stilskin. Its a rework from the little evil Rumpinstiltskin, its a fairytail figure, goes back long in folklore...im not a fairytail figure...so i changed the name to Stilskin. Makes no sence but wth.

Master i added during my Racegaming career;) Simply was to good so opponents called me Master. uhum, im humble about it, onestly;)

Shine comes from the apperence of my face when im drinking beer and thats why i added it to this game.

Reason:

Raven is cos I have Jet black Hair in RL and i'm quite pale too lol
Woodger (Wud-Ja) is my RL nickname that all my friends call me
Night is cos I'm not an early riser, i'm mostly nocturnal and function better at night, I love the evenings and night and don't tend to be a fan of daylight lol.

Reason:

First of all, this is a newly made avatar. I wanted a special name with some kind of meaning or to just sound funny. I wondered about to use my real name, but very fast skipped that option. The only problem what I had is that some local characters might not be accepted when creating the name, so figured and figured and figured and Tegye Le Demost was born. :D
For a foreigner it won't mean anything, but for one who knows Hungarian will burst out of laugh. :laugh:
For a foreigner it might can sound as some kind of Chinese name, Le(e) or something similar, but far from that.
My translated English name is: Put It Down Now
When I told it to Jamhot he said that I must be a father with that name, however not. :ahh:
My only reason for this name choice is to remember me to not to play too much and to not to forget that there is an exit button. :)

Thalion - in Toliken's elven language means someone who can't be defeated, who is fearless and strong, invincible
Jas - a tribute to one of characters from stories I write named Jason, since there were some Jason's already in EU and my other avatars named Jason were called in short "Jas" I decided to use a short version for EU
Draug - in Tolkien's elven language means wolf

It took some time to choose a name and I wanted it to have meaning, so here we are. Because of the "wolf" part my avatar has yellow eyes which give him odd and slightly dangerous looks. He walks his own paths like wolf too :laugh:

My friends call me Bru irl, and the rest was just some random words after 3 or 4 attempts of "The name you have chosen is too similar to another avatar name" or something like that.

Jason - IRL first name
Centech - This is the name I have used as online handle forever.. since the days of 300bps modem on my commodore 64. It was the name of a company that made floppy disks (remember those? xD) and I just liked the ring.
Tanner - The last name of the family from ALF. :D I use it all the time when I don't want to give my real last name.
 
Name- Janeane Jane Lane

Reason: The Jane Lane part of it came from a cartoon on MTV, called "Daria". I had been watching old episodes of the show the same day I started my account, and I thought about associating the show in with my avatars name. But, as the name Daria looks too much like an uncomfortable stomach issue, I chose another character from the show, Jane Lane. As for Janeane, I've always liked the name and Jane is short for Janeane, so there ya go.

It's not super creative, but that's the story behind it. Most people call me Jane.

This is a great thread. It's always interesting to find out the reason behind peoples online aliases.
 
Una Griph Alconbury

The name Una Alconbury is taken from a character in Helen Fielding's Bridget Jones's Diary. Yes, it is a female character, and I'm male both IRL and ingame, but there is a funny story behind my choice :)

A few years ago when having English class in school we had to read an excerpt from Bridget Jones's Diary. I had a class mate who at times could be very slow-thinking, and well, utterly dumb :laugh: Somehow, even though Una Alconbury once in that text had a dialogue with another character, we managed to convince this class mate that "Una Alconbury" is a vegetable (yes, a vegetable! :laugh:)

After that I always used "Una Alconbury" as my username when we played LAN and online games with him just to bug him about his moment of stupidity. I got so used to it that I started using it in pretty much all games, and so even Entropia :)

The Griph part is a remixed version of a nickname of a friend; "Griffla". I simply thought it sound quite good together with "Una Alconbury" :)

Gobolino: Well i wanted avatar with name what no one have, so I trying to find any unique, easy and interesting name in books (as I`m addicted too books (In a good way)), so I found book "Gobbolino the Witch`s Cat", so i a bit correct the name and there you go. I made this name in old good day`s and still using it...

Althalus: Found it in another book "The Redemption of Althalus", so I used it too, but just because I needed to fill that space in avatar name :)

Kabull: A bit changed my surname...

Fun question!

Chazaquiel = Variation of Chazaqiel, one of the Watchers (fallen angels) named in the Book of Enoch. He shared the knowledge of the clouds and sky to man and was forbidden to return to heaven.

Chaz = Well.. I figured no one would want to type Chazaquiel all the time!

Grigori = The name given to the "watchers", angels who fell from grace to walk amongst mankind.
 
My ingame name is Harry Bond Hole.

I was reading the series about Harry Hole at the time I joined EU. He is a brilliant cop and an anti hero at the same time.

I picked Bond as a nickname simply because I though my avatar looked a little Bond'ish when I tried on the tuxedo while I was creating my avatar.

So, a name made from bad imagination. EU is the only online game I've ever tried, and quite frankly I joined just because a friend had been asking me several times about trying it.

I joined, spent a couple of sessions with my friend. He left EU, I stayed :laugh:

Thank you, Maximus Ultimus Thane, for saving me on the beach N of caravan. He became my mentor when I was about to leave EU. Here I am almost 3 years after, and still having a blast :D
 
My in game name is: Lobbe Lobbe Dojje

How I came up with it: Well I really had probs to came up with a name so I just putted some fingers on the keyboard and one was on L, one on O and the third hit the B I thought about the letters and came up with Lobbe :) short and easy :) and Lobbe rhymes on Dojje at least if u live in sweden ^^

But once in game someone from finland told me that lobbe is some sort of mosquito... :) hehe still it's an awesome name and since that day I used it all over the internet ^^ woops
 
Avatar Name: Oni (Onaya Oni Salnar)

I like my avatar's name, although there wasn't any huge thought put into it. I had just bought Firefly on DVD when I joined EU, so I ended up starting with Inara Serra and messing around with it until I got something I liked.

I settled on Onaya because I liked the ring of it, and it had a natural shortening to Oni. Salnar I picked for its somewhat Spanish feel, which I liked as I spent most of my youth in Spain.

'oni' apparently means 'they' in Polish, I have since been told.

Avatar Name: Johnson Theragra Knewb

Reasoning: Quite a "knewb" mistake, really. I swapped my username and my Avatar name accidentially when I created my avatar. The Last Knight was supposed to be my Avatar, instead, its my login :(. As for Johnson Theragra Knewb: Johnson is a nickname to "all" my friends...as in, "Hey Johnson!"...quite funny when all my friends look :laugh:. Threragra is latin for Pollock...I'm in the seafood industry. And Knewb is pronounced "Noob" because that is what I am. Stupid error, but I've grown fond of the name...expecially when it precedes a global or a hof :D.
 
Richard Frankenberry Adams

I originally wanted Admiral Crunch or Count Chocula (Count Chocula is my ingame persona for a lot of games) but I didn't know that you could choose how much of your name was displayed so I went for a more conventional name :)


Richard was the name of the lead character in the Sword of truth series-a character to look up to!

The frankenberry was just an allusion to cereal as I couldnt have count chocula :)

Adams was HE MAN baby! You cant argue.

Raynebow Rayne Dragon

My avatar name came about as the namesake of the tattoo I have on my left hip.

I love dragons and mythology, also there is a japanaese martial art that pertains to hidden dragon's and each has a color and each color depicts the energy wielded by that dragon.

I wanted my Dragon to have all the energies so it was created with rainbow colors, as such it is a rainbow dragon. Someone had used the word rainbow in their avatar name so I had to adjust it a little to get the desired effect.

After the creaton of my avatar the name I display is the middle part (Rayne), I have been playing EU for about 2.5 years and about 3 months ago I came across a DVD called Bloodrayne, ofc the name caught my eye being so close to my avatar name and I watched the DVD.

Rayne in this movie is a Damphyre (half human-half vampire) and a warrior fighting full blood vampires, ofc this impressed me because I like to see my avatar as an Amazon Warrior Princess. When it comes to hunting that's exactly what she is (I am still working on the pk :D).

The DVD was a movie depiction of some other online game that I didn't know about and still haven't looked for lol cause I am addicted to EU I never find the time to go look for it. However if you look at the facial features of my avatar and the actor in the movie the resemblance is vey eerie considering I didn't even know the movie existed until 2.2 years after my avatar was created and also the avatar rebuild VU.
 
My in-game name comes from a couple of relatives i discovered while doing genealogy research. Margaret/Maggie was my GrGrandmother and Blackstone is the surname of a guy many many generations back in wales. his first name was Argyle, and I always thought that Argyle Blackstone was a pretty cool name. hehe.

Its my porno name.. You take the name of your first pet and the name of the street you first lived on.

We had a boxer dog called Butch and lived on Carisbrook street

That's how you get your porno name :)

obviously the first pet of your gender :) otherwise id of been called Lady Carisbrook.
 
Well, Spirou was one of my comic magazine heros when i was young, and still are, and i´m still young to(I am born 1965)! :rolleyes:

And Longmorn is the name of my favourite Singlemalt Whisky.:D

I just had the name completely clear in my head before i was create my avatar.:silly2:
