Alright, so everyone knows about the level creator for CryEngine, CE Sandbox. Now, the question is, will EU come with one when/after CE comes? They do stress new planets and such... do you think the will let us buy and make them? (For a large fee, most likely ) Post your thoughts here.

I think you will have to have deep pockets, but I hope so.

Well... maybe. But probably not in the way that you are thinking.

Although it might make it easier for someone to design the actual planet, there would still be a lot of work to be done by MA to add mobs, loot, etc., and to tie it into the existing RCE system. So, I would doubt that it would be too much easier for them than if they just do all of the work for you.

Of course, the other issue is that you could end up designing a world with tons of places to trap and kill spiders, etc. So they would still have to go back and adjust your planet as issues come up.

Aww, the polls show that I am stupid :( I realize that this will most likely not happen, but here's hoping.

Well, MA could have to clear changes before they are made, that is why it would probably cost alot.

Voted yes for ubers = ppl with fat wallets / which are playing long time with fat pedcard:rolleyes:

3rd option is so funny m8 +rep for it :D

Well, a abilty to edit land, maybe.
But a full editor to edit a planet, seems very unlikely. Mainly down to design. Limits would be needed, for plants, water entities, maybe even mob spawn.
The plants could be randomly placed, so you can't stick them up like a fence, well if they are solid.

Buildings, yeah a issue, a auto placed turret for buildings could be a requirement so you can't create a trap that will work.

Well, its all seems to server a nice function, but designing our own planets, not likely. Though its a nice idea to create our own worlds. Hmm, maybe something similar in the future, Its one heck of a selling point, but yeah as others said, expensive. Since it would use server bandwidth, space, maybe not anything huge like a planet.
Starting to be a bit like that other virtual world. (is there not a code word we could use without actually saying the name?
secundus vita - there, latin. )

I chose the forth though, was going to pick third, but I was afraid, I may un-balance my karma.

you can already download Sandbox and start creating your own planet you dont need MA's stuff to do it.

Yeah, but will they integrate it into the game, and let players edit the land they own?

P.S. I'm downloading the Crysis Demo, 14 hours? Just to see if it works on my comp? Damn.

MAKE SURE to download that nvidia video driver someone mentioned earlier (can't find the thread now, wth), if you have an 8k or higher series card it enables PhysX on it... PHENOMENAL change in quality.

I have an 8800 GT w/512 ram, and am running XP, so I don't have access to DX10 (without some major tweaks). Before that driver update, I was lucky to run Crysis on High 1280x1024 settings without it lagging... average 10~15 fps, unless everything was standing still, lol.
After the update... constantly pegged ~30 FPS, even amidst nukes, point blank explosions, full 16Q AA mode, etc. It was AMAZING.
Only problem I had was ~10 minutes into playing it on that godlike setting, I started to get major graphical artifacting... alt-tabbed, checked the GPU temp... YEOWCH. 165+ degrees F. I quickly turned it down to 8x AA and the temp dropped to the more normal value of ~140 degrees, lol.

With the new video drivers (the non-physx enabling ones), you can still reach nominal frame rates at appropriate settings. Just takes some tweaking, that's all.

p.s. - anyone got a line on a good GPU cooler? lol...

Content in EU is done by MA..

As I know, content in EU is created by MA, ie.,
there's almost no (or only selected few) Uberz
with pockets deep enough to order a making of
a new planet. We have some exemptions, like:

McCormicks Safe :money: or Lykkes Chest :shower:
but it reaches only items level so far.. :yup:
Also Memorial Island (+ new grave), etc.

In any case, not likely, until a new planet(s) will be
filled with us & rapidly growing playerbase after CE2
will come.. we haven't stepped in North Amethera
closed areas yet.. - will it be before VU..? :yay:

I highly doubt they'd let us tinker with their new stuff. They'd have to be freaking insane! Cut down, offline version, maybe, just maybe.

the editor itself is totally free to download and use and you also get it when you get crysis, so it might be added to the cryengine eu with the trees etc ma uses. i see no reason why it wouldnt. MA would ofcourse have to add spawn areas themselves as we dont know how big they are etc but i see no reason why it couldnt be done and would be damn fun to be able to make your own spots and send them in to ma for review and possible implementation.

I totally agree. I think it would be great if they could have an occasional contest for best new continent design or something.

Even better, if they could give LA owners the ability to modify their areas for a PED fee. That would be excellent.

No-the cryengine sandbox is avaliable to people with 64 bit architecture for their computers (the OS.) Since so many people complain that their computers wont be able to run cryENGINE (which requires very little on the min settings) I would laugh if this was introduced. Not many people can run it even if they have the system specs anyway if they dont have the correct OS. I have a high end system but it is on 32 bit architecture, so cannot run it-I opted for 32 bit for stability issues.

But if it is used like spore creature creator? Create objects and send them to MA for evaluation? That would rock some socks-Something would have to be implemented so they dont get hundreds of shit things...like one a month submission rule or something, or have dedicated competitions like the film one for creating things. I would love to design a creature or item, have MA like it, make it properly and introduce it ingame with you getting a mod one or a prize or something. That would seriously rule!

Thats what I'm thinking. They charge people for objects/elevation/spawns, or you could have to go out and collect fruits for plants, or DNA for spawns, or pay for construction, all things that would help MA make money. It would be really cool if MA did this, and it would attract alot of players for them. Not likely to happen, though.

I'm sorry, I don't know you, but you've left me no choice but to call you stupid. :( Don't take it personally, but I voted no. If I had another 'no' option, I would have taken it over the current insulting version of no....so, I guess you're stupid...

It is quite okay. You seem to be in the same boat as the rest of the community

I'm fairly certain i ran it on my 32bit system, not totally sure though. But yes it does take it's monster of a computer to run it smoothly :p

Are you all stupid?

Does a formula 1 team let the drivers do the mechanics?
Does Microsoft reaveal their plans for taking over AMD?
Do i give a sh..?
Does a casino let the players set the paybacksettingss of a slotmachine?

No way.

However i like the idea of a sandbox noob area to get the new players hooked. We all will play there.

I am stupid and still playing for 2 years.

Your quite wrong there, for example for crysis several ppl are making new maps and mods for it using their sadnbox editor and the sdk they provide. So i see no reason why ma cant accept that aswell and have us submit maps that could be incorporated into eu.

i expect the entropia sandbox will be pretty secret but maby it will be leaked , anyway if it is all the peeps will be able to do is creat a new PA , WOOT!

i think there is a big difference between EU and Crysis.
First. the game mechanics i.e. damage, wear&tear, hunting and mining etc. they are all different.
second. in EU you have to pay for every action you do exept walking, tping dancing etc. Every action that matters you have to pay.
With Crysis you pay an all in fee and are able to mod. As far as i know there is no damage/decay in Crysis that compares wit EU.
Third. I think that MA has North Ametrea on the shelf for the next vu and that they already have ore even have sold some planets. So the "space pirats" have something to do.

explain the phrase please.

Wasn't anything personal, just pointing out the fact that you call everyone stupid but in your sig you say "respect each other"

I don't like double standards. Your English is very good for it being a secondary language, so big ups to you there.

Translated it directly means:
Learn to smart, ok thanks bye!!!!!

Loosely translated it means to use your intelligence, because he quoted your statement and then your sig, which were both in direct conflict with the essence of their statements.
Language such as that has history in "leetspeak" (1337speak) like "lrn2read kthxbai!!" for someone who doesn't read and understand things clearly, etc etc. He just modified it for your post.
