If anyone in the US is having luck with prepaid cards, which ones are you using?
Canadian/USA VISA and Mastercard preloaded Gift Cards. These card may also available in some other countries.
These are credit cards you buy in stores in Canada and the US that can be used as regular credit cards. They are preloaded with a set amount of funds and cannot be reloaded. They come in amounts of 25,50,100 and 200. You pay a fee at the till when buying these, ranging from 3.95-8.95.
**NOTE** The VISA preloaded cards will "not" work for an international Entropia Universe deposit. VISA do have re-loadable credit card, that also will "not" work for an international EU deposit.
***MasterCard preloaded Gift Cards "will" work for an Entropia Universe deposit, but there are several issues to consider when using them.
1.Credit Cards can make a first deposit, but then need to be verified. So a MasterCard gift card is a one time use only deposit for EU. A new gift card would needed to be used to make another deposit.
2.The exchange rate needs to be calculate by the Canadian customer so he can max out the card in one deposit, because there will be a fee that comes after, an international deposit fee, debited against the gift card, between 2.00-3.00 you will want to avoid paying most of that.
The way to do this is search internet for current Canadian-US exchange rate, then make a first try at depositing. You actually want the first try to fail so you know you are above the cards limit. Then retry deposits for 1.00 US less until the deposit is a success. In this way the customer maxes out the gift card in one deposit, (as it cannot be used a second time to deposit into EU), and avoids most of the international deposit fee charged by MasterCard, which will be debited to the card later and zero out the last less than 1.00 remaining on the card.
As you may realize I have used gift cards before
