Desposit Depression?

I'm not sure you can get anything but losses on that blueprint unless you get lucky and hit a big amount of residue by chance. Don't craft anything where the only option to not turn a loss would be to craft on condition and hope for a global. Thats my advice anyways.

Not in it for profit really :p

The thing that bothers me is that I don't have a lot of money as a student, yet I deposit around 20% of my income haha!

I got to stop doing this before it gets out of hand.
yes, you do. What you need to do is come up with a gameplan. If you can't afford 20.00 a week, go down to 10.00, if you can't afford that, go down to 5.00, if you can't afford that go down to 2.50... if you can't afford that, try 1.25... can't afford that .75 and only depsoit when you can have enough to do a deposit...

If you can't even afford that, don't deposit at all and just sweat. Since you have some nice bps, offer a free crafting service... where others buy the materials you click. There are not many people that go after that sort of deal, but if your blueprints are rare enough, and your skills are high enough, they might.

Right now, I want to craft a lot too to build skills, etc., but I'm going at a slow pace because I have to run the shop, and can't deposit a lot. I feel some buyers remorse for some of the high level bps that I've purchased, but not a lot since I know that my books are pretty full, and I got pretty good deals on them.

Don't do like a lot of crafters do, and come in clicking like crazy, get depressed, and quit only to find yourself wanting to come back in in a year... find a nice slow, steady way of doing things. Find something to do in game besides crafting too. I find owning a shop to be an interesting hobby that's not nearly as boring as sweating. Maybe get yourself an apartment and shopkeeper someday... Maybe become a reporter. Maybe go and become a DJ for Atlas Haven Radio... really lots of various things you can do related to the game that don't cost a ton of peds.

If you need cheap blueprints, you might check out my shop over at Omegaton. Also, if you find me in game, and get me on fl or PM me here some, I can sometimes find some deals for you in p2p trades... A lot of crafters aren't supplying me tons at the moment since I have a warehouse full of blueprints that I bought cheap a few months ago. I am contemplating selling off a lot of them in one bulk sale, but haven't really thought about it too much yet because I need stuff in the shop... I will deposit more going fowards, it's just not mega bucks going in.

Also, since you craft, you might get me on fl since I do sometimes buy the low level hard to sell blueprints that might get no bids on the auction... sometimes.

I just learned that anything I put into game I'm not getting back. So like going to a casino, I only bring put in what I can afford, when the fun is over it is over, til next time I can afford to. So actually... no I have never had deposit depression.

And yes crafting is a big drain on peds and the don't seem to last as long.

If you don't care at all what happens to you peds, you are welcome to hand them to me. I promise these will last longer than in your hands :silly2:

Assume there are two ways of crafting:
  • you consistently make 70-90% back and the distribution is even
  • you either make 25% back or 250% back, but the probability of the latter is 10%

If you deposits do not cover several runs, then with the second option you will be constantly out of peds and constantly depressed. Except if you hit 250% twice. For profit, you need to sell stuff for more markup than you put in plus mindarks rake. Thats another topic entirely.

Years ago i took on a second job and worked 1 of my days off at another job and that money was used to play Entropia.I found it completly eliminated the guilt. If you play the game like its your hobby i see nothing wrong with spending money on it so long as its not affecting rl responsibility.
But Entropia today can be a horribly expensive hobby to have;)

.......

Quit is best option ... dont lose more money and save you gamble addict

anothers mmorpg+fps in the market better and cost less

Casino... why always to that?

Forget EU. This is a money management problem. It applies to anything.

Don't spend more money than you are comfortable with.

Yes

This is when I usually get most frustrated with the game or game spending. I have money to depo, I spend what I think is a lot, but not out of budget.
What frustrates me is when I depo what I consider a lot of money...
I buy or repair armor, get a gun, ammo, maybe a new fap
Awesome! I'm loaded up.... i'll leave about 100 peds to play with
Then I go out hunt my butt off have fun killing big mobs
then bam....
only a few days go by and armor is decaying fast... gun is decaying also
I'm still cycling ammo

But, I start getting pissy if I don't get something good. It's not cause I expect something good from depos or whatever, it's that I fell i just put in a lot of money.. that should last a good while and I'm getting the feeling that it's not..

then i feel depressed... more like I feel stupid that I am wasting my money.
But I'm in this for the long haul. I still play everyday and have lots of fun.
I'm very ambitious!

You probably have post-purchase cognitive dissonance - many people experience this after making a large purchase (like just after signing a contract for a house, or buying a car). Also known as "buyer's remorse".

Solution?
Go wash your hands :) (It's supposed to help you feel better)

In the case of this particular OP, I think you're right...

seems like most of his ped was spent on "stuff" as opposed to loot...

a bad run on condition couldn't have helped much... but mostly, it was more of a "crap"... I just spent this much on a video game....

personally, I try to avoid this by investing in "upgrades" only if i'm substancially ahead of my regular budget....

but I get most put off if I have a really bad run just after a deposit, as it means my gameplay will be substantially affected until lilac's next "payday".

I know you didn't post this for advice but I want to offer some. If you have a modest budget don't click farming bps, but rather something that is easily sellable.

kosmos

oh man... ive ben forced to deposit every third day just to countine hunting.

Im constanly depressed!:(

make a small depo, then the big feels like its in the far past :)
