Not whining and I am fine with it, but I just had to share this truly bad luck story with someone :) So the mob that dropped the dynocyclic relay today was a Lord Telloton at the shared loot in Solfais. I shot the thing the entire time with an Ark-30, dante, and damaged enhanced thru tier 3. I dont know what the other guy was using but I am assuming it was a lot less based what I saw there with him over the course of the event. And to make matters worse, the guy that got it was harrassing people there yesterday for quite awhile. ARRRGGGGGHHH f my luck. Oh well, time for me to go back a loot the red banana :)

edit, I just saw the guy and scanned him and he prob did the same damage as me actually...so now I feel a little better :)

Some people didnt even got a small ESI.

But yea, shouldnt be on shared loot mob the imp fap drop
 
well,my wife and me have also been at solfais nonstop,but not 1 esi or good item :)

Yeah, the reason I got that is cuz I have been at Solfais over 80 hours now, and without it I would be down 7k ped instead of 1k, so I think its more that my persistence EARNED it than good luck :p

That blows fluske, you two have logged alot more hours then me combined, and I've looted tbird harness (65TT) and helmet (full TT), two esis (29tt total), vigilante harness F (steel bird 10TT+70MU), skildek cobra (95TT+15)

I kinda feel guilty now!

Agreed, nothing should be lootable from shared loot mobs other than stackables.. what a horrible idea this was. I just hope that MindArk decides they will implament shared loot mining and crafting next. That would even out the playing field. Since there really is no point to skilling up to any level now that you can just shoot at a shared loot mob with an opalo and get the best loot ever. Shared loot is shared loss imo.

Massive gratz to the person that looted it, I was there too when it happened.

I kinda like the idea it dropped on shared, means that everyone gets a chance of looting something amazing in this robot event lottery.

I know some of you guys pump in a ton of ped there and lets face it most of good stuff will go to the big spenders. But many of us are pumping in a lot of peds, and know we are going to lose with a 0.00000001% chance of getting lucky on something rare. So our odds are even less.

Personaly I got through loads of VI fire chips, a V fire ignite chip, LR41 LR32 amped, Cyo4, some hand guins and what ever else I could get hold of to shoot and hopfully be there when the big loots dropped. Point is its not like uber v opalos here. Many of use spending fairly big peds too happy to contribute to event in some form.

I think the entertainment value on its own is well worth some dollars....LOL. got to admit its a blast even without something special.

Your are not the only one i shoot this mob too with geotrek h1051(t2 dmg) + evil so i certainly do more dmg too but it's how the shared loot work : random ... in fact i think it's the one who make the less dmg who got item because i loot 0 item in the shared loot when i use big dps gun the only time i loot a t10 on BB is when i shoot with a little bl1000

I have to agree completely with the above post. Out of all the days i did the shared area, never once did i loot a single item, esi, ect. i was using ARK40 Smuggler T6.7 with enh + evil so 101.6 dps at 65m. It seems like your punished for using higher dps weapons in shared loot when it comes to item distribution.

By the way what time MA time what it that the relay dropped I logged off at 2135 ma time. I would like to see if im as unlucky as i think. The days before this loot i logged off 3 min before the 70k uber and the day before that went for phonecall for 5min and 50k dropped, my luck the relay dropped right after i logged out again.
 
Dont know why u all arent shooting a opalo if only those get the items...Its shared loot so everyone can participate

Except for people whose PCs can't handle being somewhere with 200 people on the radar, people who play at times when there aren't enough people around to kill the big mobs, and people who just don't like shared loot.

i looted several pieces of thunderbird and emikt10,i just dont consider that good items :)

uhmm..yeah sure....you think you if we (the big gun users) would use small guns also that hydra or charybnis will ever go down? ,the regeneration will just make it no1 will get to loot something

ps;just read about shadowfeet looted with couple shots with ep40 at charybnis,i know of 2 big 900+ esis looted with lr41..so it really seems low damage gets favored in items

Gotcha, those items are good loot for me. But I think that is more due to the fact that I had 150 ped to my name when robot event started, and considerably more now :cheer:

Still.....a lot of people spend those hours and didn't got what you got. IMO you're not in the position to complain

Agree with the principle, anyway. Now, shared loot can be a lot of fun, but MA has really failed to complete the implementation to make the fun less prone to turn to annoyance.

Shared loot is the real casino in EU. I say this because you can blast 50 PEDs into a mob and get literally nothing, while the guy next to you pulling the 50 PED (or perhaps 20?) lever gets a huge ESI or imp FAP. With normal mobs, you get something. It's counterproductive to motivate avatar development to feel like the only hope you have of looting something rare during the event is to go shoot at shared loot mobs when you can easily kill many of the normal event mobs.

It also promotes antisocial behavior, which also is detrimental to EU. Without shared loot mobs, we would have had a soc team on the bots on a regular basis. Instead, after a couple tries of this, the interested parties preferred to go to shared loot. Furthermore, the members that would never inconvenience themselves to join the soc in an opalo hunt or any other kind, are at shared loot nonstop. I don't think encouraging people to not hunt in teams is good for EU. Also brings out the PKers, and while it's their right to PK in PvP, it does tend to annoy a lot of the opalo brigade who are the ones that shared loot should probably be intended for.

Anyway, if MA/FPC/whomever is in charge is serious about offering these giant bossmob shared loot spawns, they need to go the whole way:
  • Turn off trapped message if mob has hit anyone in past 15s
  • Split ESI drops into < 20 ped pieces
  • Remove other items that have little markup

I don't think they should remove rare drops if they are going to keep the shared spawns, but I don't think they should keep the shared spawns, at least not so many and for so long.
 
I agree the changes above are needed, especially to stop the antisocial behavior. I mean, after spending 5 minutes in the events and getting some "loots" I just start shooting everyone instead of the mobs :D

Lol yeah I know...look i wasnt complaing about my other luck recently...I was just saying that even tho I was in the right place at the right time, and pumped ammo into the mob from start to finish (without dying), that I must of have a decent shot at it, and I since I didn't get it, it meant that I wasnt due to get "lucky". I did everything I could to give myself the chance, but it just didn't work out. :)

I agree with you all on this. I talked to a few others at the crater that had spent as much time as me there that had switched from high damage set-ups to mid to low level and they ALL reported better loot with lower damage.

Imagine that you only need to make 1%+ of total damage on mob to be candidate for the item/s.

Then if a item drop the guy spending less than you but that is still doing 1%+ of total damage will end with better returns because he is shooting more eco and still have the same chances for item.

Wow...thanks Fanan for the Neg Rep. It was the first time I ever got Neg Repped. I really don't know why you did it tho, because I was just saying that it is sad to shoot at the only shared loot mob that dropped a rare item during the entire event, and not get it. I wasn't complaining about my overall luck. I was talking about bad luck ON THAT PARTICULAR MOB. I had a strong feeling something was going to drop there, spent a lot of time there, shot the mob that had it, and didn't get it, even though I had done everything I could do. So the bad luck on THAT mob, that I had waited and waited for, was right about existing, and shot the hell out of, is what I was talking about. :(

I tell u what, I'd mess my pants if I got an 8XXped esi every 80 hours of hunting!

Also agree what was previously said; shared loot should just be stackables.

how many people are hunting robot to loot it ? are you the only one who think you deserve it more than the looter ?

you, who have looted a 800peds esi on shared ?

lol you fired 30 peds with a dante/asi30 on 1 mob, ask uber how many peds they are cycling through 2 weeks...

I log off, bored to see drama people...

PS : gratz to the looter, i saw his tracker and Im happy than a med lvl player looted this thing.
 
I actually like this event more than any other event before. Not to much prizes handed out and not to less, a lot fun, no amor and uberstuff needed and some great loots in between. I even like the unfairness/luck factor with item-sharing and my best item in this event was "only" a full Emik T10.


Shure I would love to loot some uberstuff too ( a 8xx ped ESI for example) but if everyone would get such stuff we couldnt call it uberloot anymore :laugh:

P.S. looting 8xx PED ESI and whine about bad luck sucks ;)
 
I had a few hours of fun with the hydras, but had to stop. When you pump 30-50ped into a mob just to get nothing back, i presume cause of items dropping, i went away to carry on my normal activities

At first i stopped shooting evis, cause it seemed (i am sure this is inacurrate) that half were item drops, so i recieved nothing. Kept to the hydras only, and they started having no looters.

I don't think hydras should have only stackables, where would be the incentive to hunt them? No one would

But it is not for me, i like to have at least some control over what i loot and how

Ya,when I first tried this it was fun..first few kills I got a little back, but when I keep going back to no loot at all..not even ammo, I gave up..figured it was cause I wasnt doing enough dmg cause all I have is the Opal..I tried differnt times..it just sucks..wasting all those peds on nothing..only things it good for for lower players are the skills
