You would be surprised, my system is 2.5 years old (Jan 2007).
Specs are:

2.33Ghz dual core intel processor
4GB RAM
Nvidia 8500GT 256mb graphics card. (Used to be overclocked but not anymore)
19" display
Windows 7 64-bit

yeh, I know I hid the dashboard and desktop items but I can still label it gameplay cos I mined and hunted ;P and its a real view if you play the game too.
