hi

i explored hunting and a little bit of mining so far and im really having a blast discovering all different kinds of items and studying market prices its been a lot of fun

however crafting/construction confuses the heck out of me. what would be the best way to slowly dip my toes into crafting? any recommended BPs or just mess around a little bit and keep discovering? most BPs are too high level for me and the ones i can craft all seem to have crazy high markup on components...please help a noob out

thx

The most common routs into crafting are:

do some repairs on a mother ship until lvl 10 in VSE and unlock BP comp (hidden skill) then go into either explosive projectiles crafting or simple 1 conductors so right from the start all crafting gets you extra skill points.

or just rock explosive projectiles until you get some lvls under your belt...

if you have budget to burn you could always specialise early.. search on the wiki etc for the cheapest per click (material +mu) amp, wep, car etc etc and go from there..

just my opinion on the matter and there is more routs then those i listed above but all tend to be way more round about

if you get an rk-0 + welding wire you can offer free or low cost vehicle repair on any planet to build skills. there are also mothership runs. If you just want to craft I would say look for low level bps that you can find some or all of the mats for.

It's a very long process of skilling up for losses you want to keep as low as possible.

Many people initially repair motherships as suggested to at least get the BPComprehension skill unlocked. The quality rating QR, your skills in the bp category (can be weaps, tools, material types etc), the bp level and its max (89% or 95% on so-called SIB bps), will affect your likely returns = level of loss while skilling up.
The mus of crafted stuff can make a big difference, but these fluctuate, as do the mus of the required materials as you have seen. Many bps use cheap mats though, such as oil and animal oils, or cheap ores such as lyst but also others nowadays.

The more skills you have in various fields of crafting, the more likely that you can craft something currently in demand, but actually profitting may be a long long way away, as people often underbid each other in order to keep their peds turning over.

I think I know who this hatchling is, and I tried to help you yesterday with this link:

The crafting system in Entropia is really not what you would expect, your "Success Rate" is never really going to be higher than ~40%, nothing you can do about that, it's the same for everyone.

The tips about crafting for markup in the above post and how to figure it out is really the best tip you're ever going to find on this forum.

Get a basic sheet metal BP and start raising the QR and your skills. Some runs you will profit, some runs you will lose, that's just the way this game is.

Cheers,

thanks for the link, however i have no idea who you are so i think you have the wrong person lol

1. Start by reading everything crafting related on this forum.
2. Learn the basics with crafting something really cheap.
3. Work out the return formulas till you are able to calculate “cost to craft” of the item based on its components costs.
4. Look for market opportunities to craft and sell something at or above “cost to craft”.
