In May i first started getting the problem. Lots of busy items and swaplag. It got a bit better but now it's horrible. Not only is it very frustrating and annoying but I also die from it waiting for the fappings to come thru. Half the time i emptyfap.

I tried pinging the servers and I got the following result:

Ping-statistic for 64.125.26.77:
Packet: Sent = 104, Received = 85, Lost = 19 (18 %),
Transfertime in milliseconds:
Lowest = 60 ms, Highest = 212 ms, Average = 67 ms

My ISP is Telia, and I have no packet loss to anywhere else it seems.Is anyone else experiencing similar problems? Any ideas what I can do?

Try setting your connection speed in the Clientloader to 128 kbit or lower.

Yeah, I've got the same annoying problem and I've also got Telia.:mad:

Hope someone fixes it. It's close to unplayable now.

I have it at 256 now, but anything is worth a try, thank you =)

The client settings have nothing to do with the packet loss, (as mirandax allready know). I'll try run a 100 pings or so now and see what I get. Be right back.

I NEVER have any problem with item busy as long as I play at home. When I'm on the mobile connection I get it all the time, when I'm at wireless at frankfurt airport I get it all the time so I'm darn sure it's client side every time someone have item switch lag. (That is too bad because I can't blame stupid death on cp on it...)

Well, doesnt look good. I am on labs2/bredband2 and I got this result:

Ping statistics for 64.125.26.77:
Packets: Sent = 97, Received = 22, Lost = 75 (77% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 83ms, Maximum = 86ms, Average = 84ms

Tell me how to do that (I'm on XP) and I'll try it with my connection

"Normal" ping towards MA server gave me 4 sent, 4 returned and avg speed of 68ms

Tell me how to do that (I'm on XP) and I'll try it with my connection

In cmd prompt type: ping -n 50 64.125.26.77

50 pings should be enough to get a fair statistics.

Several months ago i was regularly getting spikes in above.net
i emailed them, they replied that they limit icmp in their routers,
and that you should always ping a host instead of their routers.

Getting 20% loss here. ISP = Comhem.

My stats from Belgium. (Skynet provider)

No loss for now, but I probably has also lost packets once in a while, I have also frequently "Item is currently busy and cannot be accessed"

But I have fairly low (9) amount of hops in between:
I masked my internal and extarnal IPs

i did a test with 150 pings to the last hop router (64.125.26.77) with an 8% packet loss, and terrible spikes of >3 seconds in many replies.

Ping: 64.125.26.77:
Sent = 150, Received = 138, Lost = 12 (8% loss),
Roundtrip time:
Min. = 82ms, Max. = 343ms, Avg = 95ms

this makes me miss 20-25% of shots with 10/10 weapons... lovely!

this is what I got. I did it twice and result was very similar both timees from the UK.

Ping statistics for 64.125.26.77:
Packets: Sent = 50, Received = 50, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 44ms, Maximum = 182ms, Average = 48ms

I experience a lot of packet loss also .. sometimes the missed shots are so abundant with 10/10 HA guns it's impossible to not see it ..
It's very dynamic tho .. sometimes it's near 0% lost, sometimes it's 50%ish :(

Ping-statistik för 64.125.26.77:
Paket: Skickade = 50, Mottagna = 38, Förlorade = 12 (24 %),
Ungefärlig överföringstid i millisekunder:
Lägsta = 60 ms, Högsta = 277 ms, Medel = 76 ms

ISP: sunet (studentnätet i uppsala)

Dont look good :(

Messures from Zurich, Switzerland:
sent 50, recieved 50 (0% loss)
min 44ms, max 133ms, mean 54ms

Any ideas what I can do?

I would certainly suggest taking a very long holiday, about a year should do it :hug:

Then I will, WILL, catch you up skill wise :laugh:

;)

100 sent
30 received
From Colorado

Horrible, just horrible:(

ISP AOL :O In the UK.

I was away and came home 8 days ago, so i don't know how it was that weekend, but yesterday and the day before yesterday it was smooth. Almost no yellow text and delay. And today, back to the same mess. I don't know if that means anything or not..

Hi,
Thank you for your message and we apologize for not getting back to you in Swedish this time. According to our technicians and to Telia, on the 2008-08-25 a node went down. This effected our communication with our server park. Unfortunately there was not too much to do about this incident from our side as all our lines run through Telia. The crashed node had effect on our customers whos isp used this node.

However, if you are still experiencing lag and other difficulties after this date (e.g. delay on interaction, sliding avatars or disconnects in a non frequent manner), this might be related to high latency and packet loss. Therefore, we kindly ask you to try running a program called Pingplotter against this 64.125.26.73.

Pingplotter is a freeware, and you can find it here: www.pingplotter.com . If you find it difficult to understand the numbers received, you can mail the results to entropia_support@mindark.com. Please use the support case ID as the subject to allow us to quickly locate the corresponding incident report.

General guidelines for latency and packetloss are that values less than 250 ms in latency and 10% packet loss are acceptable. If your values exceed these figures, you might encounter issues while interacting with Entropia Universe. In such case we can only advise you to lower your connection setting under ‘Options’ in the Entropia Universe login window. This makes the client less sensitive to packet loss and high latency.
Kind regards,
Entropia Support

Few days ago i had big problems with it so i sent a support case. The quote is the answer.
It was good yesterday and today, had some weird lag before i logged out earlier so it might be back.
I tried pinging the ip in cmd, and got 25%-100% now.... :scratch2:
I'm on Telia too btw.

This is effing absurd!

Packets: Sent = 50, Received = 37, Lost 13 (26%)

I'm on Telia 24/1 MBit.

:mad:

Can't take this anymore:mad:

I dont know what a node is, but there was a problem on wednesday, something with a servicestation being down. I was told by Telia support that my internet would be down for 24 hours. But it came up that same evening. Regardless if those two things have something to do with each other, I still have issues after my internet came back up.

Pfft. Amateurs. ISP = Three 3G Mobile Broadband (HSDPA or 3G connection)

Ping statistics for 64.125.26.77:
Packets: Sent = 50, Received = 43, Lost = 7 (14% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 145ms, Maximum = 3921ms, Average = 1275ms

try NOT getting killed while facing up with a daki !

I got telia as well.
Working like a sharm until today.
sent 50 recived 38 lost 12
low 85 high 209 avarege 91

I don't really know what a node is either, lol.
Anyway i logged in and tried it and.. well..

My guess would be that Telia is having some problems again, giving mostly Telia users problems... Anyway i'll be sending another support case..
