Highend Armors

Allright peoples,

Now that ive gotten such good replies on my "Sentinel - Can it be done?" thread, i thought id check out the public oppinion on this highend armor stuff.

Allright, so far as ive checked there are atleast a dozen armors that are very well coveted but as ive heard not many of them drop (atleast in enough rate) anymore.

There is the Chronicle, Shadow, Vain, Sentinel, Eon, well the list goes on and on.

Now my little thought is this.. there are like 800 thousand registered players on EU right, isnt it kind of silly that there is like 1 perhaps a few more, of each big set, and the chance of a part of em dropping is more or less equal to winning a jackpot in the lottery, if that?

I mean sure, the armors should have some form of value and not _everyone_ should be able to get them, but considering i think that it's these days TOO hard to get ahold of a set since you basically need to offer atleast 20,000 dollars to get a descent set, and thats provided that the one (ok maybe more) owner is WILLING to sell it.

Say for example if one was to hunt a mob that previously has been known to drop a part, so you put down say 20,000 dollars to hunt that particular mob, as far as ive seen (regarding the really highend armors) your chance might be 1:1,000,000,000 to actually get ONE part with that.

Is this realistic? Or do others out there feel like me that this is borderline BS ?

Personally i think the situation regarding equipment is ridiculous, especially consider MA's stance of wanting the game to grow. Some people might be deterred by the inability to ever obtain such equipment.

perhaps outrageously priced armor actually brings in more deposits from those that just 'have to have it' and have money to blow.

perhaps it is cheaper for ma to have such armors in the hands of a few (who might profit a bit due to it) than to have it in the hands of many....though, uber Agi would have an even greater effect than this...this is just a perhaps.

When we talk about good armors,then i have to ask if there is 1 full armor set off Chronicle, Vain and Sentinel for a Male and a woman after so many years here. ( and the footguards dont have to be with it only the other 6 armorparts ).

Thats actually exactly what im talking about, i dont think that it in the long run is anywhere near profitable for MA to make sure nobody (or just one or a few) can have their dream armor, since if everyone realizes that the task is near impossible, people wont try, and if we dont try, we dont pay MA with deposits, decay and ammo in the same way some of us might if there was even a slight possibility of obtaining parts. (with slight i mean a bit better than 1 billion to one)

There is a reason that only so many sets of armor/ wepons/ toys/ and property is available in EU and that is all just to add to the smoke and mirrors illusion they have created.

I understand the reasoning MA has done this with many items in the game.. It is set up so when you first get her just the concept of EU will take a year to get out of your head for the "Play" aspect of it aone.

After that most have progressed to where they need to formulate a game plan for skills and gear to get to the "Profit" part of EU. This can take another year out of your EU life with having to change entire stratagies 3 to 5 times a year when a new VU comes out and yet more is moved further out of reach.

Where the high end items come in is when people find a way past the chase the carrot stage and do progress to actual mid level play. (200k skill and up of course that is prolly realisticly more near 250k skill at this point)

MA WANTS peole to fail and give up for MANY reasons. that is why soo many things everyone strives for is so far out of reach even for the best of game players and stratagists. That leaves only money and that is MA's bottom line.. how much money can we possibly get people to litterally hand over to us before they realise there IS NO WAY to reach the dream without commiting over half a million dollars to Ma to breach that elite 12 as I call them (AKA the dirty dozen in my mind at least).

Untill you are ready to commit at least that do not expect any chace in hell of doing anything better then skimming a few dollars off the edge of this what ever ya wanna call it Casino, pyramid scam, bait and switch, farse, lie, etc etc.

See MA and EU for what it truely is and decide where in its make up you want to be..as far as the top..even with the skills you HAVE TO BUY YOUR WAY IN at somepoint.

Basically these armours can be discounted. They are not part of the game that we play now. A relic of a bygone age.

IMO, that is the carrot at the end of the stick... the motivation (psychological) to deposit to either just buy it or hunt for it. If it did not work there would be far fewer players ingame doing what they do.

Personally, which is why I decided to go with Eon, is that this armour is greatly under estimated as a hunting outfit... it also rules pk, so when im at the rig I know that the guy im shooting is paying 600% cost on thier armour while im paying TT providing they are using the (L) equal...Infil/Herm

with current droprates I think you're more likely to reach 300hp from skilling than to loot a complete set of any good armor.

That info i got that has been i drop ( last year 1 MM ) so it has to be 1 drop off Mod-Imp - tool-weapon here in EU the last 3 years.

I think we're in it for the long haul But yeah it's kinda depressing when you think of it.

Ok only 6 years here for 1 full Vain armor. so whats the drop rate on this armor.

What i try to tell is that not all can have the best items but its in a way naive to think to get more ppl here who are able to deposit lot off money with thts drop rate.

1. 1 drop off Mod-Imp - tool-weapon here in EU the last 3 years 1 MM.
2. 1 whole armor set off Vain in 6 years.

And even if you take drop rate on Vigi or nemisis in a way its no point to hunt after a speciall item it is allways 100 times cheaper to buy it.

Just think how many peds you have to spend to be able to get a full nemisis vs to buy it.

Apparently enough to make every man and his dog hunt Daspletor for the last few days, because obviously when it takes 6 years to drop once, it's going to suddenly drop loads this week...

(if anyone loots a second set of Vain Gloves this week, or indeed year, I will eat my own elbow)

Ye sure it cant be because off the loot the past few days because the best loot was in animals and drones like ambu young, atrox young-old, drone generation 1, Feff. snable. and so on.

I agree with most here. Yes it's too hard and costly to get the armors, weapons and other items we need. Lets face it, most who play this game do enjoy it, but they do not have the spare money to throw at those things.

I've been saying that for years now and see no change other than a few who are now giving one or two of those items up for sale. At outrageous prices I might add. So even though I still want them, I cannot ever hope to afford them...

I don't know about other players, but right now I'm only treading water to stay in the game. So I cannot get those items...

I've been playing for years now and love the game, but I don't like where the prices are going. Kinda makes me sad that I cannot buy those things and with the way the prices are going I never will...

Spiders dropped multiple eon footies right afther they where discoverd..

Not to mention Dasp have a tendency to be the only mob to loot decent armor on a pretty regular base compared to other mobs..

I wonder how many sets and parts of sets of Shadow or Angel or Eon, high-end faps, high-end guns, etc were TT'd by the wise and noble ancients (beta - early gold) to get some peds to buy ammo to continue the hunt.
